This Little Piggy Goes to Atkins

Dear diary, the last few days have kind of been spent on hold. It's all about the job scenario, the fact that one company still won't let me work for the other. The other find this completely unfair and wants the current to advise whether they will sue if we go ahead. I'm awaiting the decision, again.....
I do this to myself in any situation where I can't find a solution to the worst case scenario, which I can't in this case. I have too much time available to think on these things.

Diet wise I'm fine, I'm happy with what I'm doing and I feel good.

I've done nothing towards Christmas because everything is riding on whether I will have a new, better paid job in the new year. But we're really going to have to make a decision soon on what's happening re that.

One bit of good news is that we no longer have a rat problem. This weekend we'll seal up the holes they made.

Hmmm, although I didn't realise it, it was in my contract. Human rights thing would be great, but have consulted an employment lawyer who has advised that it is a clear breach of contract by me. If they say no after this latest case, my last ditch attempt is to offer to donate my final months salary to their charity. The fact is that I'll leave anyway because I'm bored, it's just whether the new company will pay me to work from home for the first 6 months ( the problem being that the job is very much office based), or whether I find something else for 6 months.

I do hope the cheese eaters bog off soon. The pest man we had used Rodex bait, should you get to that point.

Good lord this all sounds so complicated. I hope it works out for you xx

I'm feeling much better today. Brighter, lighter and full of life. It's my last day of the working week, then three days off with Mr wonderful to look forward to. Am trying to put the work business to rest as I've no doubt I'll have to wait the entire weekend to hear anything!

Oh he is wonderful, ML. Always the sensible one and always supportive, especially today......
Work said an absolute no to me being able to get around the six month ban. However, I gave in my notice and will be working for my new employer from home. Although I'll be on ad hoc hours for those six months, Mr Wonderful says we'll cope and he'll support us with overtime if he can get any. Everybody happy, and I am allowed back to work to visit my new employers during that six months, which makes thing much easier.

Very happy. Great day. Halifax Ppi man called to let me know their offer will be in the post tomorrow!

Had a great day yesterday, walked along the cliffs, met a friend for coffee, changed the spare room around to incorporate a small office space for me. Very productive and really enjoyed the sunshine.

So far today I've roasted a chicken, been to the tip and Tesco and about to walk the dog. Happy, happy, happy.

Wonderful news re the job, love - that is such a great outcome - 2013 is gonna be great for you :)

Sounds like a lovely weekend, just what you needed :)

Happy Monday everyone, I've had a nice relaxing weekend and have eaten some real food. Wasn't very hungry, but did have some of the raspberry cheesecake bars I made for DH, a great success! Also had some chutney with cheese on Fri, it was clearly far too sweet and I was quite poorly for a while later with my first sugar crash. The following day I made my own chutney by adding spices to a jar of low sugar apricot jam. A great success!
Until Christmas I'm having a shake, a bar, and the choice of food or shake in the evening. This will be how it is until Christmas (or my packs run out).
I use minis on my mobile, but annoyingly the app keeps crashing.

I can't believe how the time is flying...I have still done nothing towards present buying for Christmas. Haven't got much to get, but still I must pull my finger out!

I've done nothing except buy cards (haven't sent them though!) and found Chrissy wrapping paper left over from last year...but haven't bought anything to go in them!

Eek, I finish work on Friday - 3 Weeks earlier than expected! My head is in a spin. The whole Christmas plan has changed, We're not buying presents, the Christmas meal & new year meals out are cancelled and it will all be so worthwhile in the spring when I start my new role properly.

In the meantime I need to find things to keep me occupied. Someone is loaning me a rosetta stone French course to brush up on. I also need to try and learn some key dietry advice in Greek, Italian, and Spanish. If I'm organised and get going on making lists I'll be able to fill my days nicely.

Oh wow how come it has been moved forward? But good plan to tighten the belt over Christmas because it will all be worth it later xxx

Well actually Susie, it's changed again....when I handed my notice in on Monday, I thought it would be one month. However, the head HR person said I officially only had to give one week as I haven't completed my probationary period. So, that meant I would actually get to the new job three Weeks earlier at the other end of the six months, iyswim?
They then told me I have had one day more holiday than I was entitled to for the time I've been there, and the two days overtime I worked in the summer when they were desperate for cover don't count!
So, I now have to work Monday to cover that and have bargained with the manager that they take one month off the six months 'quarantine' silliness in lieu of the three Weeks plus the 2 days and a bit extra!! In fact, she said after I've been away from there for a few months and people have forgotten about me, she won't say a word if I'm there. I'm hoping I might be able to start as early as April.
