My husband made me a slimming world pate from the red receipe book, I believe it was mostly liver and quark but it was delicious! Love pate :) don't have the book on my at the moment though :S
 
That is insane! I'm reading stories about massive waits for gallbladder removals everywhere now! I was admitted immediately for mine on the day I went to see the Doctor. Granted I didn't have the surgery for a month (was in hospital for that time as it'd given me pancreatitis) but I was taken in straight away!

it has given me pancritatas! I hope I'm not in for a month!!!

My levels of whatever they were checking were all stupidly high, like my liver function tests they told me were meant to be around 100 and something...my levels were 600 and something! They were confused as to why I wasn't as yellow as one of the Simpsons! I then did the decent thing...after taking up a bed for 4 weeks before hand I took up another one for a week and a bit after...bled out after surgery and my lung collapsed haha! Disaster zone or what!

Chicken Liver and Bacon Pate
Ingredients

8oz/227g Chicken Livers
4oz/113g Bacon (fat removed)
1 Large shallot
1 Garlic Clove -
Half a tspn mixed Herbs - (I used garlic mixed herbs because I hate messing around with garlic!!)
Very low fat Fromage Frais (I used 2 dessert spoonfuls)
Fry Light
Salt and Pepper

Preparation

Peel and chop the onion, peel and crush the garlic, chop the bacon.

Spray a frying pan with Fry Light and cook the chopped onion, mixed herbs and crushed garlic until tender. Add the chicken livers and fry for 7 minutes, add the bacon and cook for a further 3 minutes, season to the preferred taste.

Place the mixture from the frying pan into a blender, add a spoonful of Fromage Frais and blend until the mixture is smooth. If too course, keep adding the Fromage Frais a bit at a time until you reach the preferred consistency.

see post above - and it's really easy - as a non cook I made it without any trouble. I took it to my taster session and everyon who had it loved it :)

Dear receptionist at hospital....

After my surgery, myself AND the surgeon (different to my normal one) both said/referred that i see my usual consultant afterwards for my follow up app as we have 'a plan of action' for my next surgery depending on these results. But you send me to the guy who did the op?! him & myself were confused an p****d off as you've wasted a month of my time, this consultants time when someone else could of had this appointment, an i probably wont see my usual consultant for another month or so!! so thank you very much for wasting our time an making it longer for my next surgery to get me fixed!!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

The only cooking involved is the frying part, i guess you could eat it straight away if you wanted, although I tend to chill it for an hour or so - it depends how desperate for it you are ;)

edit: should have read the rest of the thread before replying !! I haven't tried freezing it but I guess it would be ok

I don't find it very helpful that after consolidating 2 debts to give us more cash - you go and buy another effing sports car and try to tell me it's good? Oh and you've ONLY got to travel 251 miles to collect it.

If you are going to miss me while I am away the weekend being a tw@t for days before is only going to make me want to go even more. In fact I wish I was going today and didn't have to come back at the moment. You know I'm shattered and running on empty so being so demanding is just going to leave us both disappointed and frustrated so please stop it along with the drinking and smoking because I hate that too.
And trying to demand that we go out tonight is just setting me up for a fall as we havent got a babysitter and I am working Fridayand the pressure you are putting on me is just making me not want to spend time with you at all.

While I'm feeling as crappy as I do right now, I should NOT have to worry about getting a bollock!ng for calling in sick. Yes I know you're short staffed. Yes I know it's not long until I'm meant to be at work. Yes I know you might struggle to cover the shift.

BUT.

I couldn't care less, because I'm ILL. That's the thing that should be important.

And I hate you for making me feel guilty for something that I can't help!

But most of all, I hate you for the fact that I'm STILL going to work the shift despite all this because I know it's the residents that will suffer if I don't go, because you're all so incompetent that you don't have the foresight to consider that staff might get unexpectedly ill.
 
Dear Old Man in Office,

Please learn to chew your food with your mouth closed. The noise is so unbearable that I have shut my office door and have my mp3 player on loud just to drown it out. Please stop farting like a flatulent donkey.

Also while I'm here, your laugh annoys me.
