Vanessa's Maintenance blurb...

Ouch - Vanessa I'd have felt like a good fry up too!! It's so annoying when you really sticking to the principles of something and get the opposite of what you expect!! SW was the same for me. It's no good saying to me have as much as you like ... DUR!! Then that changed to stop when you're full ... bigger DUR!!!! If I could do that I wouldn't have a flippin' problem!! :(

It's going to be interesting to see the cals alongside the points. One night at work i may try a similar thing just to see. In the meantime I think I'm going to have protein for breakie rather than w'bix or toast and see if that helps. xx
 
Well i apologise to anyone who may be waiting in anticipation for kcal versus pp countage! I was at a girly night last night so didn't even attempt to count - took a night off and relaxed!

New day today... tho am swithering about doing a few days of 2x maintenance shakes plus 1x protein salads just to get rid of gain and then try maintaining with a combo of WW and kcal counting (specifically counting fruit) lol.

My biggest concern with doing the maintenance thing is will I get carbs storing rebound when I start eating them again - does anyone know how that works??? I don't want to have to do a reintroducing regime!

If I'm brutally honest with myself, I knew WW pp was too good to be true! I just found myself too eager to want to believe in the science behind it ... I didn't truly believe I would lose much but seeing as I just wanted to maintain (tho 3lb loss wud've been nice in time) I really hoped it wud work! But to actually gain without using all allowance or slushies! Aaaarrrgghhhh!

The press has been so good for it but I suspect it works more for folk starting healthy eating - and with a fair bit to lose! Realistically just eating healthier than they were before, would give some good results - but its perhaps not for folks like us who already being pretty careful and with (let's face it, in the greater scheme of things, pretty small targets)....

Yeah - I had 2 turkey rashers this morning in a 2 egg omelette. It was nice but I was too tired to bother cooking it really :( xx

Reason I'm posting today's menu so far so early is cos of probs I been having with gain and thinking it's due to free fruit on WW.

Mfp states that just in the above breakfast, I have exceeded my day's ideal sugar intake already and had about a quarter of my day's carbs! Now being immobile, that cud explain a hell of a lot... I'm not gonna dwell on it and will definitely continue eating fruit and just concentrate on kcals counting for the moment (apart from anything else, i couldn't cope with/wouldn't want to start counting to the extent of having to balance foods to that degree) but ... tis an interesting thought for the day!

L: 116g corn in cob (2pp, 106kcal); 6oz lf chicken fillet (5pp, 180kcal) 190g sweet potato (5pp, 161kcal)

(14pp 601kcal so far...) hmmm balancing quite equally re pp/kcal so far; with free fruit at breakfast yes, but they were small portions! Food for thought (pardon the pun lol)... But if u take into account slush allowance too ... Hmmmmm [scratches chin] lol

Watched The Biggest Loser this morning ... My first time!

OMG those poor ppl with those tiny losses or STSs with all that work - I was expecting huge losses especially given the big amount they need to lose! What are we stressing about lol - Ar least we're losing the odd lb here and there!

Ps. Sum1 should give them LP
 
That was the third week the previous 2weeks everybody had good losses.
 
I hear what you're saying about the food values etc Vanessa - it really does make you think .... I think pp may only be good for maintaining to those of us used to a healthy diet as you've said ... shame though :(

And Yes I felt sorry for the BLs last week - teensy losses & all that work!! As Tan's said tho' that's unusual - I thought it was really strange that it happened to ALL of them (I think) - it's on tomorrow night (Mon) so we'll see, I'm sure that won't happen again. xx
 
Yep, its on tonight & did you see angie going through their fridge in the clip of whats on next week? They reckon its their food as all the exercise theyre doing is great. x
 
Oh yes, I was so surprised at the small losses last week. But look at all the goodies they ate from the table though!

Yes I have managed to see most of it. Just watching the WI's now. I cant wait for my Wii biggest loser challenge to arrive in the post. Scheduled for anytime up until Friday.
 
Soz not been posting - got bad news! My brothers wife, Judith, has broken a cervical vertebrae - not good - arms and legs paralysed (however tis still early days!).

The good news is she is Swiss and so is in the best place, pretty much in the whole world, for treatment! Other good news is she has started breathing independently so that's gotta be good yeah!!!

It is my brothers birthday 2moro (he died at age 30 in 1995) and yesterday my mum received a letter from Judith with money to buy flowers for his grave ... Bittersweet or what!

Sorry to be doom and gloom - just wanted to apologise for being so quiet! I have lurked a bit (really for distraction purposes) but haven't been able to bring myself to post till now!
