Gah. The pasta n sauce didn't work. :(

It was more 'rehydrated' then cooked, the sauce all but disappeared and it was... tepid.

I think my cheap food flask will be better for keeping cold food cold, so I'll try a salad/couscous mix in it next time.

I was quite excited by the prospect too! Would be good for when you don't have a microwave or when someone decides to microwave fish pie in the communal microwave haha!
 
Hurrah! My soup maker has arrived!! I'm having my hair cut in an hour so will pop to the local fruit 'n' veg shop to get some leeks, then I shall be attempting Leek and Bacon soup.

OMG I hope this works...
 
YUM! Good luck with your soupmaker :) I have some butternut squash so I'm going to make a spicy soup for next week (away this weekend). I love my soupmaker!
 
Let us know how you get on with your soupmaker, I'm in 2 minds about them but everyone I know who has one raves about them! Leek and bacon sounds lovely too
 
Right, had a bit of a tantrum as I couldn't get the damn machine to turn on! Eventually did it, gawd knows how, I'd been pressing the on button with varying degrees of pressure... Before I went to the shop I checked my cupboard for oxo and saw a packet. Should have checked the contents though as there was only one bloody cube instead of two! I have shoved a butter bud in there as well so... will have to wait and see now, 20 mins to go.

I'm betting the potato will be raw.

Erm, okay it's not the best tasting, bit bland as I really needed that other stock cube. Will have to experiment with it a few times I think, BUT IT WORKS!! It's definitely cooked, and it's so smmoooooth.. (supposed to have crispy bacon on top but I had run out)

Aaarrrrggg! Went to a city centre today with my daughter. She wanted KFC so I did some research and saw the BBQ pulled chicken ricebox for 4.5 syns. Sorted. Ordered hers then asked for mine only to be told "we don't do it" :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Had to have the original rice box at 10.5 syns :mad::mad:
