2015 and It's Now or Never!

Evening Emm - glad the throat was a bit better today.
They had to knock me out with a mild anaestetic as I couldn't swallow the tube with just the throat spray.

Glad that you're meeting up with an old friend tomorrow, have a lovely day!

Thanks Bev.. the anaesthetic can only be administered if there is someone with you.. according to the info given.. so that was a nono for me anyway.

Morning Emm!

Be sure to wear your shades today . . . We're supposed to have 15 hours on Sunshine!!! I'm up early to savor all 15!!! (I really need to leave this gray island.)

Evening Mel.. Turned out really lovely as said... What a shame you feel that way about our island.. I guess we just enjoy moaning about it! .. :D

Morning Emm,

Have a nice day out with your old friend today.:)

Morning Emm - hope your throat is back to normal today and that you have a lovely day with your friend.

Thanks Mary and Carol..

Sunday 4th May 2014

Drive to the meet up point was quite long for me.. these days I can't do them too well as I get so tired but it was just within my tolerance level altho' I do love driving.
Had a good natter and took her some things to put in her car boot sale that she is going to do next week... That's another load of stuff got rid of.

Not a good day diet-wise as it's consisted of cheese on toast for lunch and then a toasted teacake and a bit of chocolate when I was out and nothing much else!

Total calories so far 1042.

Evening Emm - hope you haven't worn yourself out with your trip,
If you feel tired tomorrow then be sure to rest up.
THAT'S AN ORDER!!!! :8855:

I know where Mel is coming from. She suffers from SAD.

We had a Spanish lady and her English husband stay in our apartment a couple of years ago, who now live in the UK.
When I asked her what she thought of the UK she said she found it dull and grey. I gasped!
But she explained and said it was all about the quality of the light, not the people or the environment.

In Spain even when it is cloudly it is still BRIGHT, as the cloud cover is usually quite thin, so you very rarely find people who suffer from SAD here.
In the UK because the clouds are much denser it appears to be much greyer.
That's why the sea looks so much bluer in the Med than in the UK because the cloud cover is less and you can see the light relecting through the water much clearer.

She admitted to loving the UK and had no intention of living in Spain again (job prospects, economy etc) but really missed the "brightness" of Spain.

Morning Em!

It's bright and sunny again. :D

Bev described it very well . . . I used to try and explain the clouds are so low and thick here that those dull grey days seem oppressive.

I hope you rest up, but enjoy your day.

Morning Emm - glad you had a good day and hope you are not too tired this morning. I guess the "grey" explanation makes loads of sense, we natives are just so used to it that we don't really notice the same as people from other climates.

Lots of rest ...waiting for young lady to help me with this...very confusing.

Morning Mel.. No explanation needed .I well understand that there's no place like home.

Morning Carol, ..and what would we have to moan about if no dull and gloomy days.

Manday 5th May 2014

Pleased to find my weight is still the same today.:clap:

For some reason feeling a bit muddle headed so my posts are rather shorter than usual... perhaps I'll be better as the day goes on.
Still keep trying my tablet without a great deal of success.. :sigh: .. hopefully practice makes perfect!

Well done Emm.
But - it may be that you're having problems with the Minis mobile app - lots of people do, as there are things you just can't do from the App.
It might be worth just accessing it from the actual Minis website.

Morning Mel.. I don't know about the "tech savvy" bit.. more like the struggling techy! . .
Expect I shall get a bit more savvy soon.. she says hopefully.. :D

Thanks for that Bev.. MFP is the worst one to understand via their app.
When I'm away I shall at least be able to read all the comments even if mine are very sparse... we shall see.

Afternoon Em,

You can add an app to your tablet that will allow you to download and borrow books from the library via the Internet. It's very cool. I have a friend that is still borrowing from her library back home in Missouri, as well as, Cambridgeshire.

Lovely day out - I really enjoyed the dog walk this morning.

Contacted Vodafone this morning as I had found that after getting a new sim card for the "new" phone my old one wouldn't work. They said I would get a new sim card for it in the post but in the meantime to transfer the other one over. Not being able to do that I promptly went into the city to the Vodafone shop again and was seen by the same young man.. and to cut a long story short.. after assuring me that it was not so and looking at it he said that the old one just needed recharging! .. .. :ashamed0005: say no more!

Had a lovely cheese burger in the Gourmet Burger Kitchen and chose a side salad with it but the "salad" which consisted of just lettuce leave and a bit of rocket was absolutely swimming in oil. Pointed this out to the waiter who after swishing it about in the dish and mumbling said nothing more so I asked what I was going to have to replace it. I was offered a cup of coffee but said I would rather have some French fries. Whilst they were quite okay I have never seen such teensy-weeny French fries before.
That being done Tesco was next and went totally OTT making my cal intake for the day in the region of 2500!.. now suffering from acid reflux.. serves me right for being such a glutton.

Did call in the bank for plenty of cash for my journey plus some Euros.

Doubt very much whether I shall get the dolls clothes done in time with my fingers being so sore.. disappointed about that but I shall continue to do them and send them on later if it comes to that.

Beautiful sunny day so it was lovely to get out but as usual when I got back I was so exhausted I had to go to bed and slept soundly for about 3hours.
I expect that will mean I shall be up until the wee small hours.. no worries!

Evening Em,

I'm like that . . . when I allow myself and special treat and it is disappointing I tend to over-compensate myself. I'm sure a therapist would have field day with my food, affection, fairness, etc. issues being intertwined.

Soon, soon . . . you'll be winging your way to the Emerald Isle. :)

Evening Emm - when do you actually head off to Ireland?

Evening Bev..Friday 9th.. an early morning it is.. one of my greatest nono's!
As you know I don't "do" mornings either.
Last time I was in the UK on my own, my taxi to the airport was due at 06:15.
I did actually go to bed with 3 separate alarms set to wake me up!
Mind you I didn't sleep that well and kept waking up every half hour to check I hadn't overslept.

When mum still travelled here on her own, she once missed an 08:00 flight to come out to see us.
She phoned me in tears just after 8 to say she had only just woken up and what did she do now!
I just booked another flight for later in the day, but I had a devil's own job getting her on it as they refused to let her check-in at the airport.
And mum has no computer or printer!
My step-bro had to print the boarding card out, take an hour off work and go round with it and take her to the airport!
I never booked her on another early flight :8855:

I'm sure we'll speak before Friday, but in case we don't have a lovely time with all the grandies and great-grandies!

Morning Em!

Super nice out here! I hope it is in Norfolk!

Morning Emm - have a lovely trip to Ireland. I probably won't be on again before I go so just running round diaries.

Oh dear Bev.. you certainly have a few problems to deal with on many occasions.
I have to make sure I get my flight as it's the one and only for the day!
It goes at 6.55 which means I will be getting up at about 4.30 in order to get my back "working" and get reasonably mobile... at least the return flight is at 1.20pm which is great.

Morning Emm!

Evening Mel.. today has been really changeable.. one minute very cloudy and a bit of rain and then the sun comes out and it's great.

Morning Emm - have a lovely trip to Ireland. I probably won't be on again before I go so just running round diaries.

Evening Carol..Hope you have a lovely trip too.

That oily salad yesterday caused me to have an extremely upset tum today and having had an invitation to visit another friend which I didn't want to refuse, when I got there I was in great discomfort all the time..
So far I have just had about 1500 calories... I guess that makes up for the excess yesterday!

The visit to my friend's was very nice and very surprising to have had two in one week.

Suitcase out and ready for packing tomorrow with hairdo app in afternoon.
Counting down the hours now..Yay!
