Know what you mean about the site keeping you focused. I'm feeling bereft at not being able to go on the Wii each day atm - I have no idea how I'm doing on the weight front right now.

I just seem to have gone completely off track! Mind is not focused right now! Heading to the gym tonight so hoping it will motivate me! I've changed my goal to lose 3 pounds before Xmas instead of 7... looking more likely to be the lesser amount! x
 
The burgers last night were really nice! I found the recipe online and thought I'd give it a try, easy to make! Free on red and I guess free on EE too!

[h=2]Pork and Leek burgers[/h]
1 medium leek
681g/1.5lb lean minced pork
1 tablespoon freshly chopped sage or 1 teaspoon dried
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 medium egg, beaten


1. Trim the leek, slice lengthwise and rinse under cold running water to flush out any trapped earth. Shake well to dry, then shred finely.

2. Place the pork in a bowl and add the leek, sage, seasoning and Worcestershire sauce. Bind together with the egg.

3. With wet hands, shape the mixture into 8 balls, and then flatten into burgers about 2cm/0.75in thick.

4. Place in a wire barbecue basket and cook over hot coals for 5 minutes. Turn over and cook for a further 5-6 minutes until cooked through. Alternatively, place the burgers on a grill rack under a preheated medium/hot grill and cook for 8-10 minutes on each side.
 
Had a sweet tooth last night, luckily I had some lighter treats in the house and didn't pop down to the store and buy a bar of chocolate!!! Only 4 over so that wasn't too bad.

Heading off to the gym tonight for the first time in 2 weeks! So it will probably be a struggle, but it will be worth it. The gym always seems to motivate me!


Today's food: EE - Tues 23rd October:


Breakfast: 1 x toast 1/2 Hex B, 1 choc spread 1 syn, muller light

Lunch: 2 left over pork & leek burgers, 18g chedder Hex A, greek yog

Dinner: BNS chips, Tuna fishcakes... didn't really work though, was more like Tuna mash!

Snacks: 1 x Alpen light 1/2 Hex B, apple, weight watchers angel cake slice 4 syns, probably an aero mousse too! 5.5 syns, cadbury highlights 2 syns


total: 11.5 syns

Those burgers sound great - I'll definitely give those a try!
 
Burgers sound lovely. The important thing is that you are having healthy food and the weight will drop off gradually.


I hope so! I know I treat myself too often to sweet things so I really need to start cutting back! No more baking for a while! x
 
We're hopefully getting the internet switched back on again tonight! Looking forward to having easy access to the site, plus I have some freelance work I need to send over so desperately need email!

Yesterdays session at the gym was OK considering I've not been in 2 weeks. My instructor had me working against another guy in circuits and then we had to do 6 minutes of shuttle runs! I can sprint quite well but when it comes to long distance it gets really tough! I managed it though... but it was at a sprint/jog walk alternate pace!


Today I am going for a green day.

Wednesday 24th October


Breakfast: 2 x weetabix
Hex B with muller light

Lunch: Deli Box Chicken Noodles
2 syns, 2 mini 18g cheeses 1 Hex A, greek yog 1/2 syn

Dinner: Pasta with pesto, 1 tbsp green
4 syns, frylight fried cherry tomatoes, 30g cheese grated Hex A

Snacks: 1 x alpen
1/2 Hex B, boiled eggs, forgot my apple! :(, angel cake slice 4 syns, options 2 syns

Total syns: 12.5

Lunch: egg, salad, 1 syn mayo, mugshot, greek yog 1/2 syn

Dinner: probably egg & SW chips!

Snacks: alpen Hex B, apple, Rice krispie square 5 syns?, mousse 7.5 syns

Total: 15 syns

work makes me hungry! Especially whe you're sat staring at a screen all day!

Lunch: Sushi 1.5 syns

Dinner: jacket potato with pasta n sauce mac cheese, salad

Snacks: Apple, alpen 3 syns, bread 5 syns, choc spread 2 syns

Week syns: 12.5 / 105

Hey! I am indeed struggling! I generally eat well in the week but then these social obstacles pop up and they usually involve eating lots of naughty food! This weekend I have a Chinese 30th b'day meal for a friend and a thing on Sat night! Arrgghhh oh well.... I'm kind of maintaining so that's OK I guess. To be honest I don't think I'll be able to lose anything until after Xmas as every weekend seems to have some kind of eating activity taking place! As long as I can shift near to a stone after Xmas I'll be happy!

I really don't think the sudden change in temp helps, just makes me want to eat loads of comforting food! Need to make a cottage pie or something. I'll pop and have a look at your diary, been so busy lately I've neglected the site! Don't worry too much though. you'll get into it! It probably takes a while to discover all the meals you can eat that keep you satisfied! x
 
So tired! I don't seem to have a lot of time to do anything lately, seem to be preparing a lot of food on the go! Plus I've not been shopping this week so we've been eating whatever we have. So sticking to EE/green for the week!

Know what you mean Rachel about there always being something going on that involves eating! just do your best and you may surprise yourself.
