Day 66

Calendar thought of the day:-

The best way to succeed in life is to act on the advice we give to others

Funny how we can see other's problems and difficulties so clearly yet we can't see our own? Maybe we find it hard to care about ourselves enough to give ourselves good advice and to carry it through.

I'm still muddling my way through, doing a kind of "Cambridge World" plan at the moment. I have not got the cash to fully immerse myself into SW until Friday, so I'm using up my CD packs and trying to have sensible SW food. The scales are showing a slight increase but I'm not worried by that, as it is obvious they would react to me eating food.

Here's wishing all you lovely ladies a wonderful Tuesday and hope that you are all sticking with it. xxx

So far, so good MM. Talking of wardrobe malfunctions, a young girl last Friday had problems.......her knicker elastic snapped but luckily she was wearing trousers, which stopped them falling to the floor. She had to walk around for the whole afternoon, with her drawers mid-ships lol xx

Hope you are well Mel :D

Hi Yang --

You need to work very hard today, as I am off to the spa in a few (we need to keep that balance). hee hee

As far as the knicker diasater... what would be worse? Having your knickers at half-mast or "sneaking up behind you"? Hummm.

MM

Well........I've gone and done it!!

Hello peeps,

I've bitten the bullet and signed up to SW online. I am not sure I want to go down the 'sitting in a group' route, so I thought I would copy Alli and go for it. £65 for 3 month subscription and that should hopefully see me to my target weight and have me eating proper foods in proper amounts and in proper control and maintaining.

You haven't got rid of me though, I shall still be on here (assuming I will still be allowed to) keeping an eye on you all and you keeping me in check. I will start a diary over there, in the next day or so, and put the link to it in my signature so that you can call by........hopefully you will want to ;)

Hope Tuesday has been kind to you all

xxx

Thanks Chels,

I had a fab day at the spa. I think the SW online is a good option for you.

Morning Chels, nice sunny day here, definately makes you feel better.

Well done on signing up to SW online, had a look yesterday but still signed up to WW for now but have decided to try SW for a while, didn't work for me last time but it is a good way to diet. Had Prawn Rissotto last night, was a hit with all but 1 of us (but he "doesn't like seafood").... he actually doesn't like anything.... wouldn't have believed it was diet food so good all round.

Hope you have a good day today xx

Morning Chels!!!

I see the sun trying to force it's way out! Yay! I hope that you are having a good day at work. I am supposed to work very hard today to make up for bunking yesterday. Oh well, the wages of sin.

Mel, the spa day sounds fab. I love the spa, especially the steam rooms, dark, mood music and the wonderful aromas. Lush

Risotto sounds really tasty Linda and as long as it didnt contain any octopus in it, I would wolf it down :D Glad everything is ok with you and you are keeping on keeping on. xx

The sun is out here too and it is pleasantly warm. I am sitting in my atrium in just a thin, short-sleeved cotton top and am considering opening one of the doors  Mustn't get too excited though, apparently it is going to get colder towards the weekend........groan!!! Still, its a little taste of things to come and it gives everyone a lift that's for sure.

So what are we all hoping for with today's budget? They make me laugh when they talk about some respite for people for next year, in the form of being £45 better off for the year through tax allowance changes. Whoopie doo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Less that £1 a week  What shall I spend it on first?

I am seriously considering selling the car but the cost of public transport means that there would be no gain to be had. I am not sure what I could cut down on. Apart from the cruise, I don't have holidays, I don't buy loads of clothes, shoes, handbags, beauty treatments. I don't go out. I've given up the cigs. Rarely drink these days. Oh......I've got it.........I'll just not eat.......

I thought we'd tried that -- it was costing us, too. Can't afford to buy smaller clothes.

Sucks doesn't it? Charity shop shopping here I come, might get myself a nice frock or two for the cruise......who would know that I was wearing second hand clothes???????

It doesn't help the mood when all the politicians and analysts are saying that things will be like this for the next 5 years. I'll be 61 then, hurtling towards retirement -which has been put back 5 years by the government(s) - with sod-all to live on. For a lifetime of work/bringing up 3 lovely girls/paying my dues, such scant reward..........still, there is always the Euromillions to go for on Friday. £120 million would do very nicely. I could change so many lives with that amount of cash :D:D:sigh: Sorry to sound so down....just feeling a bit demoralised about it all, as I am sure are millions of others, not just here but throughout Europe/America etc. xx

Today's Calendar thought:-

Today's gem is:-

Most people are more comfortable with old problems than with new solutions.

I find this really ringing a bell with me :sigh: xx

I love charity shopping, started when I began losing weight along with buying Sainsburys clothes and now I'm hooked. And if you can wash it...? No problem. And the books.......oh yesssss! xx

I agree with your comments about this section of mini's being more intimate than the SW part, I suppose it's because we all know each other by now, nice though. xxx

I have loads of SW recipe books (and weightwatchers lol).... this months SW magazine has some really good recipes in it, that was where I got my prawn rissotto one from and there are more I will try out next week too......

Are you still having a regular WI day Chels?

Morning Chels,

How are you doing hun? Hope you are enjoying your new plan, loads of freedom to choose from different foods.

Wishing you a fabby sunny day

I love Sainsbury's clothes and am wearing a cardi and pair of trousers I bought from there. The trousers are from a couple of years ago when I CD'd, size 14 and getting loose :D and the cardi I bought last week. Half price £7 :D:D
Intimate  young lady!!!!! :D I think there are so many diaries over there Bess, that if you don't post every five minutes, you drop off the first page and then get forgotten about, so I feel under pressure to just put any old rubbish on my diary just to bump myself up lol lol

Hi Linda, I thought I would stick with my WI day as Tuesday. I weighed this week and had a STS, which I was pleased with as I am doing not quite CD and not quite SW either, 25-75% respectively I reckon. Allowing for some glycogen replenishment I think that is pretty good.

Hi honey, I'm fine thanks. Hope you are too.

I got a bit panicky last night, as I made a chicken casserole, with chicken thighs, onions, two oxo cubes, bit of garlic, salt. Had loads of kale, broccoli and carrots to go with it. Had a plateful and froze the rest for this evening. I felt so huuuuuuuuge afterwards. Waistband feeling tight and a bloated stomach and felt like I had gained a stone. I'm telling myself that it is all free food and that I couldn't possibly gain weight by eating it but it wasn't sinking in and it is knocking my confidence a bit. I so didnt enjoy feeling so bloated. I looked pregnant!!!

Morning Miss Ying, and sunny greetings to you. What a fab day we are having?

Me and mine are all fine and dandy......as far as I know anyway. I am sure if there were any problems with anyone they would have let me know ;)

How is life in Cambs? Have any of your guys been doing the sorties over Libya?

Wishing you all a lovely day and if you are out in the sunshine..........think of me stuck in the office

Hey Chels, don't worry hun, it'll take a little time for your body to adjust to the new way of eating but as long as you follow the rules of your new plan (free foods, stopping when full etc) going from CD to SW will most probably give you a water gain initially as your carb/salt intake has been low so until your body gets use to it and settles down it'll only e water, no panics though un. The main thing is are you happier on sw? and if the losses still happen then the aim is still the same. Horses for courses and all that.
Enjoy!

Aw, thanks Lelly for the info, made me feel much better. I do feel happier to be honest. I had got to the point where I had started to feel very isolated. Now that I have lost a big chunk of the weight I want to be able to go out and have something to eat and a drink, which I now can. Also if I fancy a little nibble of chocolate, then it doesn't stress me out and make me feel like a failure. The upshot of that is, apart from a bag of Maltesers last Saturday, I have not wanted any chocolate. Weird!!!

I am looking forward to the day when I know exactly what the value is of everything and I am not having to constantly dig my books out of my bag to check :D I just want it to be normal.

How has life been treating you?????
