I've updated my diary with the things I've tried, my head is absolutely banging the last 2 days though!!
I don't 'like' the sore head bit but I read your diary and it was really interesting. First of all I completely agree with the low cal/ketosis anomaly. I too have done Atkins (years ago) and was having cream in my coffee, frying bacon, eggs, mushooms with butter and I remember clearly losing 10lbs in a week! This VLCD in my mind may be slowing my metabolism. That's one reason S&S makes me happy- 4 packs a day + milk and veg is less likely to send my body into starvation mode.
On the note of Ketosis- I have looked into Ketosis + appetite suppression and there is NO evidence of a link
anywhere (if anyone has one please share). That will explain why, despite people giving this 100% they are still starving hungry!
At least with Atkins I was never hungry- in fact it was to opposite! I got sick of the sight of food

I will finish this supply of S&S and may just jump ship with Anila to Atkins Island. Still undecided.
The benefits of this diet as far as I can see are: I have completely detoxed from Sugar, Salt, Carbs and Alcohol- which can only be a good thing. Oh, and i'm drinking tonnes of water so my skin is as soft as a baby! My Pre totm symptoms- sore boobs, bloating etc are
gone. So there are some excellent side benefits to doing this! Also I have read that VLCD can reverse type 2 diabetes (which I have a predisposition to) Ahhhhh Dilemmas, what to do!?!
Anyway, that's my ramble over with
here's my run down of S&S food tried thus far:
Cafe Latte Shake hot with coffee- Deelish! Like a thick creamy posh latte!! 9/10
Choc Praline bar- very small but scrummy. It was chewy and SO chocolatey 9/10
Spicy Spag Bol- Mmmmm LOVED IT!!! So yummy and filling 10/10!!
Porridge- I preferred it to Exante porridge, it tasted more like rice pudding 8/10
Going to have the Crispy choc Shake for breakfast in a minute will report back xxxx
