Help needed for 1st day......

Yeah I should think gas mark four would be ok. Do some nice roasties with it - I love roast potatoes and they taste naughty without being covered in oil.

Apparently it takes 28 days to break a habit! (According to our smoking boffins at work anyway) I'm really glad I have changed what crisps I do have though as it used to be normal walkers which are so greasy. At least it's lower syn ones I am having.

I got in touch with my sister and we have agreed to start running on a Tuesday evening :) baby steps but will benefit us both I think!

good for you's committing to that....it wouldn't be me lol!

that's my meat on just now...i like roasts too but can't really do them as i usually would as we're out from 4.30 plus i have WI so if my OH wants those, it means waiting for them once we're back which is near 6.30.
will see what he says, i don't mind waiting but i usually try to prepare as much as i can so that it's a case of just reheating things when we get back.

i've made a nice salad for lunch which i think i might have soon as i'm getting hungry.
got lettuce, tom, cucumber, spring onion, pepper and sweetcorn, cottage cheese, some cooked ham, a boiled egg and some seafood sticks - looks good and it leaves me my HEB for later - i usually take an alpen light for after WI seeing as we don't get dinner til later on a monday.

bloody chickpea dahl things never went to plan today...not one of them stayed together and it all just stuck to the bottom :(
i noticed this morning how bland the curry savoury rice and the tin of dahl actually are....never noticed it before so not sure if something's changed?

ooh don't mention walkers crisps...i love them! my OH has a packet of plan every single night so i sit with my corn snacks of some sort and don't even look lol. i always say no (thru gritted teeth hehe) when he offers me one....it's so unfair that he can eat so much sh1t and be so slim...i guess if his job wasn't active though, he'd soon see the different...PIG! lol x

My OH is exactly the same! Because he is a mechanic he spends all day lugging engines about and as a result can eat what he wants! Dammit!

WI nights must be hard to organise food around. I know of a few people who have a post WI takeaway or something as a treat as they don't have time to cook!!!! Sort of defeats the object in my opinion.

yeah i've seen lots of people doing that. i haven't and although i understand why they'd do it....plus they have the rest of the week to be good...for me i'd be scared that it undone the success a bit, if you know what i mean?

i'm cooking carrots now and have prepared potatoes to either boil or roast once we're back. cooked the meat and it's now all sliced and on really low in some gravy in the oven.....smells good!

what are you having for dinner tonight yourself...can't remember if you told me already...sorry if you have lol x

Fingers crossed for you at WI tonight. Sounds like you are all prepared :)

My risotto is all ready to go now - just waiting for my mate to turn up to put the cheese on to melt *drool*

oh i remember now...risotto for dinner for you! lol

well...i put 1lb on this week???? obviously i hoped for a loss...BUT...keep trying to tell myself that i stayed on plan 100%, didn't do anything wrong and obviously, for whatever reason, my body decided it was holding to something???
aww well..not to worry...the biggest thing for me is that although i'm always like "aww maaaan" when i have a gain, for the 1st time ever, i'm guilt free and never come away thinking right, that's it...i'm going to go eat bla bla now...and that's a huge thing...a huge positive thing, for me anyway.

had the beef with sw roasts, carrots, brussels, peas and sweetcorn and it was absoultely delicious. it was so soft i could barely pick the pieces up cos it just crumbled....really glad it turned out ok :D

i still have my B to use and at the moment, i'm not hungry so will see what happens later...i have some brazil nuts so could always just have a few of those but will wait and see

hope you enjoyed your dinner ;) x

The risotto turned out sooooo gooooood!! :) was really please with it and my mate didn't even tell it was SW so a massive success.

Awe it's annoying about ur gain hun but you know you have been a saint so just carry on as you are back on plan. Maybe you are retaining water?! Have you been drinking enough?!

So pleased your beef turned out yummy and I'm jealous you had roasties :)
What's on the menu tomorrow?

i'm glad you tempted me with roasties...and they turned out to be the best one's i've made ;)

what was the recipe you did for the risotto? i'd really like to make it but just haven't....dunno why...it's a bit like the cous cous - slightly wary it doesn't turn out right!

i was so busy at work last week that i'm not sure i drank as much as i usually would...but it is what it is and as long as i keep doing what i'm doing then i'm sure i'll still see the results ;)

green day tomorrow so gonna make the mac and cheese again...we really liked it.
what about you? x

Argh I just wrote a massive post and lost it!! How annoying!

Ill post the risotto recipe separately so you can print it out. I haven't done the mac n cheese yet but once I use up some stuff in my cupboards ill get some macaroni and try it. The new mag comes out on 20th may so I'm hoping there are some nice summer recipes in there.

EE for me today and after much deliberation I got out some lemon sole fillets to have. I'm going to make the potatoes and mushrooms my bf did the other night with paprika and salt as they were yummy and will give a nice flavour to the fish (which is usually quite plain). Ill do some veg with it as well. Might try making some SW courgette fritters using smash as the coating and just doing it in the oven?!

Going round my friends for dinner tomorrow night so I'm gonna check with her what she is cooking so I can plan my day out. :)

I keep forgetting to bring my green tea to work. That always helps my water retention!

Risotto Verdi

Large Onion
Risotto rice
Fry light
Veg stock
Green veg - I used peas, soya beans, asparagus and courgette.

1. Make up 1l of veg stock from a stock cube
2. Chop the onion and cook off in fry light until soft. I used a large saucepan on a medium heat.
3. Add the risotto rice to the onion and stir through for a minute or so. I used 3 cupped palms of rice per person and this was a healthy portion.
4. Add a ladle full of stock to the rice and onion and stir. It will sizzle loudly due to the heat of the pan.
5. When the stock has absorbed, add another ladle of stock and stir.
6. Repeat this until all the stock is absorbed.
7. Meanwhile, steam your veggies so they are tender.
8. Make up another litre of stock (I only have a one litre jug but you can make it all together if you have a bigger jug)
9. Keep adding a bit at a time until the rice is tender.
10. stir in your steamed veg and serve with a hexa of cheese on top!

It can take 30-40 mins and you have to keep stirring to make sure it doesn't stick. I use a lot of stock as I like it all soft but some people prefer the rice firmer. Keep tasting and judge or yourself. :)

It's really simple it just takes looking after while the stock is absorbing. Well worth it!

just a quick note as i'm at work and it's hectic....thanks for posting that recipe...i'll give it a bash ;)

will write more later when i can....hope you're ok and that your day goes as well as it can x

just popping on quickly as i have minutes ;)

just printed the recipe out so thanks for that...i've never really known where to start when it comes to risotto so now i do...i guess i can give it a bash and add all different things to it eh?

just eating my sandwich the now...egg mayo with spring onion...it's nice and i've been looking forward to it for the last hour lol x

Let me know how you get on with the recipe :)

My lunch was nice it I forgot my orange so hope I'm not hungry later lol.

Looks like my dinner plans are scrapped (I think) for steak night which I thought had been cancelled. Was going to have EE tomorrow anyway so will cook the fish when I get home and have it for lunch with leftover risotto :)

Trying to plan a few days ahead ATM but struggling for inspiration!!

are you trying to plan round what food you have...or just need ideas for meals in general?

i'm home now so going to have a quick nosey on here then get on with the lunches for tomorrow and the mac and cheese for tonight's dinner.

we finally have a nice day here....you can imagine...first sign of sun and you instantly get the people who prance about half naked....eugh!...just too much! pmsl x

A bit of both really- I'm trying to curb my shopping habit as I'm in the shops every other day. I have lots of chicken in at the moment and beef chunks that are ideal for a stew (but not really stew weather at the moment?!)

I'm thinking some coated drumsticks and thighs using smash and spices with some SW coleslaw on Thursday

oh that sounds yummy! and great that the coleslaw is full of superfree too!

i'm gonna do ee tomorrow, taking leftover mac and cheese to work with me for lunch, added some bits of bacon to my OH's tonight with his dinner so i've done the same for my tub at work

going to make the chilli chicken noodles tomorrow i think. only cos we rush about on a wed and it's so quick...you can soak the chicken in soy sauce and dried chilli's for 10 mins then it's good to go...and i always add slices of peppers, onion and carrots. you could maybe make that one night?

Tomorrow is a hard one for me as my mate has invited me round for dinner and is refusing to cook anything other than a pizza!! (Even though i stressed that im on SW!! she just said save my syns!!)

I'm going to have a green day and make up some pitta bread pizzas to take over as I really don't want to go off plan so soon after making up my mind to do it properly.

So that doesn't leave me with much choice for tomorrow. It will be fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, quiche for lunch with the usual carrot sticks, crisps, fruit etc. I will use my hexb for pitta breads and hexa for the cheese on top!! Think that's quite a good plan! Syns will just be milk for tea, the crisps and maybe a Special K biscuit thing.

Tonight's dinner was lovely!! I'm on my second 100% day of being back on the jazz. Was feeling a binge coming on while i was cooking as my bf has done my nut in today argh!!!....... but ended up having a bigger dinner instead to control it. I know that isn't the idea of a diet but it was free and superfree potatoes and veg that I had extra of. I guess that's the beauty of slimming world that you can have as much free food as you like!

I do have 6 syns left for today but I don't want to eat them when I don't feel in control. Instead I'm going to have a bath and wash my hair - if I feel like I want something sweet later I will have some jelly babies (which a mate bought me yesterday and I have portioned up into bags of 5)

good idea for the pizza...it's a shame your friend said it's that or nothing but you'll still enjoy yours and have the added bonus that you can polish your halo too!

i meant to ask how the salted quiche was? edible i take it if you're having some tomorrow? lol

and great idea on the jelly babies...how many do you get for 5 syns?

and i don't think you should worry about having a bigger dinner than usual...what's the alternative....a huge blow out then the guilt that comes with it??
you did the right thing for you and saved blowing your 100% days so good for you! x
