JanD's Maintenance Diary. Into the 2nd year :o)))

Ooh glad you got some sleep an I'm not surprised you were grumpy! I'm surprised you weren't livid!!!! :giggle:

Am the same never log the amount of alcohol.....why is that?! Lol

Ok here's my next question: How much fromage frais do you have and with what amount of berries? Sounds like my ideal breakfast but would probably over-do it with amounts I think.
Ps: how do you ever eat coming off nights? I get through the front door and make a mad dash for bed. The poor cat only just about gets fed lol xx

Speaking for myself as am nights too i go straight to bed no food, some mornings its a run first then bed and then start my day with breakfast when i get up but i know Jan stays up for a while after work and i know a couple of people i work with do the same as Jan and have breakfast after work then go to bed then get up and have lunch. Its what works for you. But being a copper dont you do one week lates, one week mornings and one week nights? I bet thats a right mess up to the system! :giggle: x

Can't think Tan ;) **whistles innocently** :)

As for the berries - I don't weigh or measure but I have blueberries, raspberries & strawberries and my (average sized?) cereal bowl will be about 3/4 full. I then put about 3 good dessertspoons of from frais on top. This is a 'cutting back coz i want to lose a few lbs' breakfast. I could quite happily have less berries but weetabix or something with them!
As for eating after a night shift - I've never had trouble eating anytime ;) lol .. I've never been able to go straight to bed. Doesn't seem normal to me. Nobody comes home from work and goes straight to bed - I know this is me as I know lots of people who work nights and go straight up but I can't. I wouldn't do that any more than I'd do it if I was on a day shift.
Also - I don't go straight home. I finish work knackered but then I go to my mother's, get her breakie & stuff and spend an hour or so with her before going home, often via Tescos or somewhere as well. When I get in that's my 'me' time. I'll get breakie and watch BB or something I've recorded the night before and it can get to 11 or 11.30 soemtimes - especially if i've done a shop on the way home.
However I DO sleep late. I dont get up before about 6pm.

Bit of a longwinded reply - sorry but like I said - I've never had trouble eating ;) xx

Yeah Tan - my meal routines never change. I have breakie in the morning and my tea in the evening. When I'm not working I have lunch in the middle of the day, when I am I have it in the middle of the night :D xx

I cant ever imagine staying up untill 11am! I like to be in bed and asleep by 9 at the latest! :giggle:

I used to be the same. I used to say if I wasn't asleep by the time Kilroy started I'd never get to sleep. I think that used to start about 9 or 9.15am. Thing is as situations arise in your life you adapt. When my Dad needed lots of care I'd go every morning and every evening. The fact that I'd been or was going to work some of the time couldn't make any difference, it had to be done and when you have to, you cope. Now I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I went home at 7am!! LOL :) xx

Well I think I'd find it easier to eat after a night shift rather than going for a RUN

I'd be physically capable of eating but can't be bothered and just want to get to sleep.

If my fella's here sometimes he makes me breakkie after a night shift (bless) and I'll eat it no bother.:D

Was just wondering jan, I could prob eat a bucket of berried and FF!! :D

Our shifts are a variable pattern of 10 hours its like 3 days then couple days off then 4 nights then 3 lates but this is a variable shift patter that works in a 5 week cycle. So yeah it totally screws with all one's bodily patterns

I'd say I normally sleep from 8 til 5!! I'm such a good sleeper lol

Kilroy!!!!!!!!!!! *shakes head* ... am i the only one that doesnt like chat shows?! :hmm:

Hey girls, you ever seen a programme called Man vs Food?! Me and the bf got it on at the mo. Seriously, ever get the chance, watch it! Set in america, all related to food challenges in diners etc - it makes me feel full just looking at some of the stuff he has to eat! :rotflmao: x

What channel's it on Tan?

I used to like Kilroy I must say - hell of a lot better than Jeremy Bile (;)) xx

Jeremy bile ... now thats being nice! He furiates me!!!! Grrr! lol

Its ok uktv food .... i think its only available if you have virgin or sky or something similar. See if you can get it online though somewhere or even just read some of his challenges. Seriously they are absolutly ridiculous!!! (sp?) xxx

Ooo yeah - googled it - it's Sky 249 ... Must have a look at that sometime :) xx

LOL i think you will be shocked at some of the challenges! I remember watching one where he had to eat 1/2 a pizza where 1 slice was the size of a new born baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

And here's me with the galloping guilts at the 4 squares of that ruddy chocolate I had at 4.30am  Grrrrrrrr!! xx

:giggle:

Oooooh Jan!!!!!!!!!!!
How did you get on with the decaf diet coke?

I bought a 2litre bottle of it yesterday at asda but its asda's own brand.

But good ol' trust compare supermarket says you can get the actual coke branded decaf one at sains, asda & tesco in 2litre bottles :)

That man sounds disgusting (not sure if I'm talking about food man or jeremy kyle??) :rotflmao:

What do both of you do as a job then if you are doing nights too? xx

Both of them are disgusting, the way the guy eats on man v food - shovelling it down is grim! :giggle: Jeremy kyle is just a ***!!!!

I work processing mail! Just basically typing postcodes and localities and sending letters and parcels that the machine can't read on their way to their destination! :) Has to be the most boring job in the world but i do get to listen to audio books for 4.5hours a night, chat or listen to music!!!

Important job tho! Stop our parcels going astray!
When you are in the coppers and doing your nut about paperwork bet you look back for a couple seconds and think "I would just love to go back to my old job for half hour" I do that all the time then change my mind when the fun starts again :)

Ooooh paperwork, joy! :giggle:

Jaaaaaaaaaaan! I hope you are watching xfactor again - just after the singer who wants to be Michael Jackson, they have obviously put Dermot in trousers too tight again! ....... Not that I am complaining!!! ;) :rotflmao:
