JanD's Maintenance Diary. Week 38 onwards.

I'll be lucky to see mine before lunch time depending on hospital queues for ear syringing and blood tests ..... never mind eh? Not complaining but I won't be getting up before 6.30!!! See ya's all tonight probably ;) xx

Good luck at the hospital Jan. See you tonight. See you tonight also Tanya, hope you both have a great sleep.

Thanks Mary - you too. It will be worth a wait at the hospital if it means we can all stop yelling at my mother LOL! xx

I finished at 6 and was home in bed by 6:20!!! :giggle:

Whatsamatter with your mum Jan??? xxx

HaHa .... how long have you got??? :):)

This was just for extraction of earwax - they don't do syringing at her docs any more and I was a bit miffed at having to take her to the hospital but it was much better and more efficient. AND when we came out I only had to raise my voice a little - we've been yelling at her for weeks!

The blood tests were for me - just hormones. Thanks for asking :)

So! Thursday 6th May

I had the planned small banana at Mum's then thought - 'but what about protein?' and had a slice of ham ... doesn't seem right somehow but I wasn't sure what else to do .... any thoughts anyone?

When I got home I had raspberries, a bit of granola for substance and crunch with ff from frais.

Bed

Tea - I used a pack of cous cous I've had for a while, it was supposed to be exotic but it wasn't very nice tbh - it had loads of bits of black olives in which I don't like and it was very stodgy - again I thought 'what about protein' so had half a small tin of pilchards in tomato sauce. A bit later I had the last of the raspberies, a few blueberries with ff from frais.

I've brought to work a chicken salad with balsamic vinegar on and a little tub of silverskins & cornichons.

Oooh, was that for your shakyness you had them tests Jan? x

No Tan - I've got an ovarian cyst, the tests are to see if it's making any hormones coz if it is and if it hasn't shrunk when I have my next scan it's gotta come out  ...... tbh I'd rather get rid of it anyway - don't like things to do with ovaries coz there's never any symptoms! x

Oh!!! Well i hope you are able to get it removed soon then :) x

Have blotted my 'no picking at work or Mum's' copybook I'm afraid ... I've had 2 mini eggs & 2 little things like small munchies :(

Ah well! If that's all I have all week it won't scupper any result! xx

Jan, I am very disappointed in you!!!!!!:8855:
Thought you had better willpower than that!!!

Ah, only kidding and pulling your leg..you are doing so well; just put it behind you... (famous last words eh)! Just think of the lovely warmth you will be in soon!!!!!

I want to come too!!!!!!

Just those little nawty things all week hey! :) Thats nada :giggle:

Looking good jan :) xx

A good day Jan, and those pears are really good for you, better than a crust of bread with spread.

Oops!! ;) This morning I DID have half of a little tiny skinny crust off a wholemeal nimble .. I mean so thin you could almost see through it and it didn't hold it's shape when you held it up - it was literally about 2" square and I had phili light with chives on it (makes a note not to buy that to have in my own house - it's TOO nice!)

So the rest of Saturday 8th May

Breakie - 2 weetabix, blueberries, splenda & skimmed milk

Bed

Tea - Lightly dusted river cobbler with stir fried veg

Wine ;) xx

Edit - 4 melba toasts with phili light & cornichins
Edit 2 - pkt skips

doing well Jan :) you are so good at getting back on track again! well done

Thanks Iris - I DO try. What irritates me about myself though is that even after nearly a year I haven't found 'the way' - I'm still an all or nothing person and I know the key to successful maintenance is moderation in everything. Can't seem to find that headspace unfortunately. The annoying thing is that I DID have it at first. Refeed felt like I was eating loads and would never need to eat more. The few weeks following that I could 'do' moderation, but I lost it somewhere along the way :(

Oh well I'd rather have this 'problem' than still be battling with the 70odd lbs I had to lose so I shall soldier on ;) :) xx

Oh I know what you mean Jan, but we are all different and you are MAINTAINING, even although you think you are up and down, you are still within your weight range and where you are happy!

It isnt easy and I found it easy first time around refeeding etc,,,but there is so much out there now and food is, well, it is just around. Cant really hide it! Just have to walk up the street and that is all you see, smell, etc.....yes, all moderation and that is what we all strive for!

Mike, the diet guy says that too, eh...if he eats too much, he just cuts back, and for us and people that have struggled with their weight we may always have to do that, and it is just finding that happiness with the way we are! Accepting ourselves, warts and all :)))))
