Hey hunni..

Please don't take this the wrong way but is the 5:2 really working for you ? I think with you still having 1000 on fast days you may be better just calorie counting and having 1300-1400 cals a day each day..as you aren't really following the plan? Or going back to the primal plan that really seemed to work for you? x

To be honest I have not fasted properly since I had tonsillitis 22 of April .... Also I started eating a few bits with too much wheat in it .. Like Ben and Jerry choc fudge brownie ( note to self brownies are made of wheat!!) which made me feel all sorts of crappy!! Feeling way better now :)

So on track to start focusing on things again :)

Am so tired (a healthy tired) today been helping a nephew and his wife move today .. I've done 9792 steps today .. Very Sleepy now :)

Tara honey I have to agree with Lisa. The fasting idea is to do 500/600 cals & although I know doing the 1000 or so is lower than a normal day it won't have the effect it's meant to have as your body won't respond the same way... I think you need to choose one thing & stick to it not lots of different bits from plans & I know you enjoy the primal/Briffa way so why not go with that for 4 weeks & see what results you get. Only saying this cos we want you to succeed x
 
Yeah I mentioned this a little whilst ago. The fast days are producing that definite for a loss your fast days aren't low enough and your normal days are supposed to be no more than 2000 cals but usually higher.

Again I agree with lex I'm sure this is bc your trying to following so many plans - taking the bits you like from several wont work!

Perhaps choose one and stick to it properly xxx

Primal also encourages fasting as part of that WOE...

At the moment my aim is to get myself back to primal with a few low kal/ fasting / intermittent days.. Yes once I'm confident that I'm back eating primal, I will lower my kcals on my fasting days to the recommended levels.


I kind of fell off the primal Wall.. And had been allowing some non primal things back into my WOE since about April .. Which in turn made me feel unwell/ out of sorts / sleepy/ grumpy / lazy and what ever the other little people were lol

I Also stopped fasting - I've read quite a bit about it and some of the research has suggested that even if you only reduce your kcals by 50/75% you are still getting the min Heath benefits, yes if you reduce them to 25% the results are better.

I've 1 week back and am feeling better!! Less of the unwell/ out of sorts feelings!! So my head is less foggy and I'm better able to focus ..

Last week was not a complete failure but not very good either due to friends visiting, takeaways and more takeaways during the weekend as busy moving one of the nephews & his wife, plus no Kettlebell class. Need to resist the hot chips ! To be honest I'm not so worried about the KFC chicken. I might have it a few times a month - but normally I'm able to say no to the hot Chips. Before my period I kind of crave hot chips and loads of salt, I'm due on in a couple of days.

Positives from week ending 15th June.
Upped my walking, 1 low kcal day, less diet coke , Almost none/ Very little wheat, no Ben and Jerry's.

I'm feeling positive going into next week! Concentrating on primal foods, 2 Kettlebell classes, 2 low kcal days minimum.

Just been to my Kettlebell class, wasn't feeling to energetic as been a busy weekend with a few late nights.

HRM 406 kcals burnt in 58 mins including stretches

Also did it in a fasted state, feeling a bit jelly like in my arms and legs lol but I know that's normal !

Not overly hungry - but going home to have an feta omelette and veg.

In theory if you reduce my 50-75% but that's based on a fairly normal up day... I don't think they are basing it on reducing from 2000 upwards cals a day... If you cut out KFC , nando's and Chinese, chips and replaced it with just once a month across the board or even have salad or rice instead of chips those pounds would drop...
I know you can do this and you inspired me so much with exercise etc x

Last week was busy with friends mid week chinese ( always takes 2 or 3 days to get out of my system think is MSG as I didn't have any rice or noodles) and family stuff on the weekend, the KFC - I normally don't order myself chips - but I was not buying, if its my OH he gets me a salad, but the nephew we were helping move bought lunch Sat and dinner Sunday.. As I was due on I like chips with my salt lol I crave salt so much before my period..

I do agree, stop the takeaways and things will start dropping :) I try "normally" to just have hot chips the week before my period as that is my "cravings" week .. But due to not feeling great I've been slack!!! Really out of control with my WOE. This is week 2 of no wheat - I am more focused and coping better :)

Also totm came today .. So salt(chip) cravings are reduced. I think the dark choc is an addiction lol but trying to stick to 6/8 small bits (aprox 150 kcals) if I want it ..

Chips and salt vs rice and salt ., sorry but chips win! if I can stick to just one week before it's totm ., then I think I will be fine :)

I get dark chocolate from Osho they are really small bars but only 76 cals I find they sort my cravings for choc out..
Junk food is so addictive , get a good KFC free week behind you and you'll be onto a winner x

I can see your making good snack choices - as you day it's not cakes or ice cream! But it's still a lot of it 100g of dried fruit plus chocolate and the seed mix is probably quite high in cals - you'd probably be better eating 200g of melon and having less cals! Remember primal eating can't include dried fruit they wouldn't have been able to - maybe you'd manage to cut cals by going fresh?! Xx

Dried fruit is ok on primal.. but yes in limited quanties lol. So I had way way to much!! I try to buy unsweetened or sweetened with juice etc

A portion is like 25g and I ate way more than that! For me it about relearning control over my portions, and saying no to my greedy eyes and head!
 
Today was my lower kcal day (not really fasting)

I don't think I forgot to add anything, so had 1089 kals - don't feel hungry - not craving any thing tonight ( thank goodness!! Lol)

Also not compiling a list of foods I feel I have to have to eat tomorrow - like I had been with my kcals as low as 550/650 (ish)

Still so bloated my trousers I wore last week don't do up - fairly sure I didn't shrink them! I'm hoping that the scales start moving down again since my head seems to be working again!!

I did buy some "me" friendly ice cream - gelato coconut plus choc and hazelnut - no added wheat, and tastes Devine :)

I'm normally ok with just having a spoon or 3 and stopping putting back in freezer.

With the chocolate fudge brownie Ben & Jerry's I couldn't - my theory is that because of the brownies - taste/ wheat addiction I just couldn't stop - have the same issue with wheat bread I could eat 1/2 a loaf one after the other - no more bread or Ben & Jerry's for me!! Gluten free bread one slice is enough!

No movement on the scales, tummy still tender and bloated with totm.

Was looking at the updaydownday web site which has a calulator for fast days etc. if I had 45% of my Normal kcals would be 1010, 20% 449 kals. - so I think as long as my kcals for my low kcal days come between those amounts I will be ok - I've got to find the balance between those amounts that allows me to loose weight but not binge eat the next day.

It worked out my upday kcals as 2245. But thus is with me doing 2 Kettlebell classes a week if I'm not going to an exercise class I would need 1960 kcals .. So I'm going to set myfitnesspal with 1960.
 
Ok scales still up at 89.2kg, have been the same all week! Before totm arrive I was 88.5kg ..

Today is a low kcal day .. Keeping kcals between 500 and 1000.

Last night ended up eating a couple of handfuls of licorice, plus 4 other sweeties the rush I got felt like I had been drinking a good few vodka's! Slurring my words and mixing them up! Kept talking and talking ... Just weird! To top it off then looked at the packet - kcals wise licorice is high, plus it is made with wheat - never knew that , and it used to be one of my favorite sweets !!

Plus looked at this! Scary as my grandma eats loads of licorice to keep her regular and has issues with high blood pressure and low potassium !
