Me, Myself & I... Lower carb, fasting, real live foods

I'm having a good time away.. Eating crap and takeaways in between good foods .. No idea what I weigh.. I've driven 2000 km (1,242.74 miles) in the last 12 days and visited quite a few drive through places ..

The flight was ok just ended up with really swollen legs, hands and ankles and it took 5 days for the swelling to go down. Not impressed!

Still eating wheat.. Result: bloating, gas, wind, flare up of ichy scalp problems.

My mum has been put on a low FODMAP diet from monash Uni, because of various health issues.. It gluten free and avoids dried fruits, and other things that can cause fermentation in the gut, it's interesting reading :)
 
On my way back to uk today :) drinking loads of water hopefully my legs don't swell as much as going to nz did! Took 5 days for the swelling to go!

I'm not looking forward to stepping on the scales as I've been eating "whatever" I wanted ..

Few things I've figured out ..
Dried fruit doesn't make me feel good .. Yes loved eating it :)
Baked goods like cream donuts and others make me feel a bit (ok a lot) icky! Afterwards ..
No longer have cravings for toast - can take it or leave it ..
Also most wheat items are either bread, pasta or baked sweet/ savoury stuff.. I've enjoyed eating them but afterwards not so good!

My symptoms of eating whatever ..
Itchy scalp has flared up
Spots/ bumps on my upper arms are appearing again
Gas/ wind / gurgling / combination of needing the loo quickly and not being able to go..
Bloating of upper stomach
Worst bit is that I've started getting the shakes again if I have not eaten within 4 hours ..
 
Yes am home now.. Loads of washing and sorting out to do.. Kids got so many toys.. Don't know what I'm going to do with them all!! they have presents still to get from uncles and other family and friends here too...
 
Faced the scales today .. 4.9kg on in a month of eating "whatever".. Although I'm a assuming some of it is water retention from the flight as my legs are still swollen this morning ..

Well I don't think that's bad at all!!! I managed almost that in 9 days ;) some of it will be carb bloat as well cos you're just not used to it x
 
Out for a meal for brother in laws birthday tonight should be fun :) have missed Christmas and new year with family !

Still eating gluten etc till 15th Jan which is my six weeks for the blood test .. Still not been having pasta, but will have a little bread and savoury/ sweet stuff.

Am looking forward to eating loads veg as I've missed it!
 
Had a nice afternoon/ evening, although my 2 boys fell asleep at the restaurant .. So avoided the birthday cake lol must say something in one of the currys repeats on me.. Just don't know which one .. Had naan and now tummy looks about 8 mth preg! Really bad bloating :(

I found that when I ate bread after 4 weeks of carb the bloat was horrendous, my trousers were all straining!!! I'm not missing it now I've cut it out again. Am trying to stick to around 60g carb a day although am not back in ketosis yet but it will come when it's ready
 
Can't believe it but kids awake at 3am for last few days ... They have no idea how to go back to sleep! SIGH!
 
Scales moving down and I actually have ankles again lol
 
Yay managed a good nights sleep :) went to bed at 7pm .. My boys asleep by 6:30pm, they didn't wake up till 5:30am .., So all good !
 
Scales down again today, better looking ankles too, can actually see Bony outlines lol ;)
 
Was in a bit of a rush today so skipped breakfast.. Just had it now .. But felt sick, hot sweats just not good .. Just goes to show what a diet of "whatever" can do for you!
 
I easily used to, like beginning of December be able to go till lunch time without eating, didn't have any of these side effects.. headaches, sickness/ nausea, feeling shaky/ or actual hand shakes/ tremors .. Diet has a lot to answer for !
 
WI today .. Lost 1.1kg (2.4lbs) am sure it's mainly water weight from the flight .. But all in the right direction :)
