MWWWD (or Moonwatcher's Weight Watchers Diary!)

Your day sounds like mine yesterday, up at 4.30 as I couldn't sleep and then went back to bed at 12 lol! If I'm on mornings I'm usually up at 5.30, working evenings tonight and then 2 days off :)

GLUTEN FREE BREAD REPORT!

Well ladies, I think we have a success here at last! Just waiting for it to cool a bit so I can see what it's like cold, and also for OH to get in so I can have some with my late lunch of cockles with vinegar and black pepper! My mum always used to do us cockles with bread and butter, so it will be great if it has turned out OK. I have tried a tiny bit off the end with a little butter and so far, so good. Basically used the recipe from last time, but left out the sofa, and tweaked it a bit - not much of a rise, but then there wasn't with the sofa last time either. If this one tastes OK later I'll try it next time with yeast, as I think the 'dough' (more like cake batter consistency before cooked) would take it.

Monday 12th August

Breakfast - melon. Couldn't sleep last night, so was up late this morning.

Lunch - this was really going back in time, with the cockles, pepper and gluten free bread and butter, just like I used to have with my mum, followed by fruit (melon and pear) with evaporated milk! (14PP)

Dinner - Lemon and herb baked sea bass with hazelnut romesco sauce, roast veg and lemon thyme and rosemary roast potatoes. (12PP) 3 of these were for olive oil on the veg and the potatoes - definitely worth it here for the flavour. This was absolutely delicious.

Drinks - water, green tea, one coffee with cream, rose earl grey and vanilla chai with s/s milk (3PP)

Total today 29 dailies. Weeklies remaining 34.

Your dinner looks delicious! The hazelnut romesco sounds intriguing!

I also find bread to be better without sofa, less cat hairs and lost change rofl!

The romesco sauce was roast veg, blitzed in the food processor with hazelnuts and balsamic vinegar. I used peppers, toms, garlic courgette and red onion for my veg - may not be completely authentic, but it was very tasty. I used one ounce of hazelnuts for the two of us, but we only had about a third each, so the nuts only cost me 2PP. I would definitely make it again, and am deciding how to use the rest up for tomorrow's lunch at the moment!

Update for yesterday's food. Late night munchies attack - two buckwheat crispbread, just over an ounce of cheddar and two pickled onions (5PP). Weeklies remaining 29.

Well that's me finally back on the exercise wagon. 30 mins various Wii-fit and the one mile Leslie video. Had forgotten how enthusiastic she is ... 'Reach strawwwwng!' Enjoyed it though, although very conscious of how much of my previous fitness I have lost - my right knee (cartilage) felt very 'fluttery', but no pain fortunately. Got to start somewhere. OH is at work this week and away most of the weekend, so I have no excuse not to get several good sessions in, ready for some longer walks next week.

Heading for the shower now, and then some lunch.

Well done on getting back on the exercise. Sounds like a good opportunity to ease yourself back in this week, but make sure you don't overdo it!

Yesterday's dinner looks lovely, especially the potatoes. They look delicious. Quite intrigued by the romanesco sauce too. Love hazelnuts so imagine i would quite like that.

Glad you finally had success with the gluten free bread. Knew you would crack it eventually. Clearly it was the lack of sofa that did it... ;)

Well done on the exercise hun keep up the good work

Good job I left the sofa out of the bread - I needed it after the exercise today! Going to try the loaf again tomorrow, but with some yeast this time to get a better rise.

Really glad I have made a start at getting back into the exercise. Can't say I enjoyed sweating away in the living room, and it was pretty hot today, but I did enjoy the feeling afterwards - I had forgotten how good you feel!
