MWWWD (or Moonwatcher's Weight Watchers Diary!)

So, update for yesterday first...

Thursday August 29th

Breakfast - one ounce gluten free muesli with s/s milk (4PP)

Lunch - can't really call it lunch, but had one warm gluten free jam tart, with a tspn of cream, and about 4 hummus chips (6PP)

Dinner at the pub - 6 ounce burger, chips, salad, a little blue cheese on the burger, diet coke, cup of coffee with cream, plus the most gorgeous gluten free chocolate torte, made with four different types of chocolate and topped with chocolate too. It was chocolatey!

They were extremely helpful at the pub - checking and double checking everything was OK 'gluten free wise'. They import their desserts from USA, and had made sure that a piece of the gf option was put on one side for me. I wasn't expecting to get a dessert at all and couldn't say 'no' under those circumstances! Well, I didn't say 'no' anyway! I thought (hoped) it would fit into the points I had left, but looked the nutritional info up online when I got home, and it actually came in at 13 PP. That made the total for the evening 37PP, including the coffee to follow the meal.

Other drinks - milk in teas and one coffee with cream (3PP), water

It was 'only' a burger meal, but very, very good. My burger was perfect - juicy, but not greasy.

We were in Norwich about an hour early, so we wandered round the city, reminiscing about the shops and businesses which used to be there years ago when I worked there. This got me a few APs in too.

Totals for the day - 50PP, 29 dailies and 21 weeklies. Gone 3 over on my weeklies, but not going to stress about it! 4 APs earned today - 14 earned so far this week. Will keep to points tomorrow. WI on Saturday.

Sounds like you had a fantastic day/evening, what a refreshing change to find a pub who were keen to help and accommodate your needs, the chocolate often does indeed sound amazing ;-) in the grand scheme of things, going over by 3 Weeklies isn't a lot and you have the AP to cover it anyway. X

Update for today, Friday 30th August (OH's payday, which was handy!)

No breakfast.

Lunch - went to Costa as had seen something online congratulating them for including gluten free options. It didn't say that both options were cake! Bakewell slice (don't like it) or chocolate brownie (do like it!). I wasn't very hungry, so decided to stay and have the brownie. Together with the coffee it saw me through the rest of the day's shopping, and I have to say was very, very good. (14PP - 11 for the brownie, and 3 for cream in the coffee). Sat on the comfy seat, with my coffee, my brownie and their free wifi. Not a bad way to spend half an hour or so!

After more shopping, where I managed to add a pair of jeans/jeggings, blue wedge sandals (£3.50, and they were Clarke's too!) water filter refills and hair dye on special offer, new mascara, a Poundland selection of soaps and shower gels etc., and a cream lace lined jacket to my haul, I staggered back to the car and then home.

At home - small bowl of the leftover curry from the other night - quite a lot less than that portion, so counted as 4PP, and later a cheddar, tomato and cucumber gluten free sarni with low fat salad cream (8PP)

Other drinks - water, milk in teas (1PP) Had two points left - could have not used them, but really fancied a gin and tonic, so used them on that (2PP)

Totals today 29PP. 3 weeklies 'over' for the week. APs earned today - allowed 4 hours walking, which should be about right. That is 17PP, so total APs for this week - 31

WI tomorrow. Can't do anything else now but wait!

Another perfect day :) I must admit I do love Costa, it's always the place which I go if I need a refreshment break while I'm out and about as its so easy to pp! OMG at £3.50 Clarks Wedges, that's a fantastic bargain! X

Good Luck for WI today :) x

Fingers crossed weigh in goes well for you! Been catching up on your diary and its getting crazy now as there are so many. Keep forgetting you are over here now pat and I'm always looking for you on the Atkins threads duh....lolol hope you are well?

Hi all. WI this morning is 15st 2lbs, so that is down 1.4 lbs from last week. I have just had a look at my figures since the beginning of August when I went wheat/gluten free and although things have been all over the place up and down, the overall loss is 4lbs in 4 weeks, so an average of one pound a week, which is the 'expected' amount. I'm pleased with that actually - think it is easy to get caught up in the weekly ups and downs and forget the bigger picture. I would be very happy with a pound a week if it continued that way.

We are off out now to East Ruston Vicarage garden. An absolutely beautiful place. We try to go once a year at least, because they are always adding and changing things.

Will get a pic of the sandals later. They are the 'old fashioned' wedges - just the wedge down to the flat bit, not with the mega platform as well. I don't do the mega platform ones any more! They were from a local hospice shop - technically second hand, but you can see from the soles etc that they have never been worn. Quick disinfectant with a sterile wipe and away we go!

Have a good day everyone. Will catch up later.

Really really really hope you got a good result at weigh in. You definitely deserve it.

Glad that you are feeling a little less down on yourself now. I think we all have a few people that we tend to compare ourselves with and can tie ourselves up in knots obsessing over the differences but I think its worth trying to concentrate on what makes you uniquely you. That's far more important that comparing clothes sizes or fashion sense. Although I can understand that however well you get on with the ex-wife having a fairly glamorous, slim ex-wife in the background would get on your nerves once in a while! One of my very good friends is simply gorgeous. All classic hourglass figure, nearly 6ft tall, clear skin, shiny silky hair. And she's a really nice, funny, interesting person too. Its sickening!

The retail therpay sounds very good indeed, and alot of excellent bargains by the sounds of it. Some new clothes before going back to work sounds a good tonic.

Love the Purdy pictures. She really is gorgeous. Love the second picture - looks very much like she is modelling :)

Well done on wi hun a pound a week is brill. They say if you lose a pound a week it will stay off for longer

Thanks Atomic. Think we were posting at the same time. 1.4 lbs off this week, so happy enough with that.

Do you think Purdy fancies herself as a 'cat'-a-logue model then?

Thanks. I hope that is true!

Saturday August 31st

I have eaten a lot of treat type food today, and used a lot of weeklies for one day, but at least it is the beginning of the week!

Breakfast - an ounce of gluten free flake cereal (a bit like bran flakes, but more tasty!) with milk and a tspn of sugar (5PP)

In the car on the way to the garden - one packet of wotsits, one finger of twirl (6PP)

At the garden - pot of earl grey with milk and a slice of gluten free lemon drizzle polenta cake (9PP)

Picnic on Happisburgh cliffs later, by the lighthouse - 6 buckwheat crispbread, jarlsberg and roule cheese, peppered salami, hummous, tomatoes, tomato salsa, hummous chips - basil and tomato flavour, a Mrs Crimble's jam and coconut ring (25PP)

Other drinks - one coffee and cream (2PP), water, diet cokes

So totals - 47PP, 29 dailies and 18 weeklies. Weeklies remaining 31. 13APs from 3 hours of walking around the garden.

Wow! Alot to catch up on :) Well done with the loss, 1lb a week is fantastic :) I downloaded the app you recommended and love the barcode scanner, very handy indeed. As for the christening, I can totally relate, however it's usually my Mum in Law who puts me off as she is constantly commenting on my weight, she is lovely and means well but I don't 'need' her 'advice' lol! It's not just me, she does it with Mark and her daughter and her three girls. I hate going to places I have to dress up as being short and fat, everything usually has to be altered and then doesn't look right.

I don't know if you've noticed this but in plus size shops the clothes always seem longer than normal, one of my sisters is 5ft 8in and stuff from Evans and Yours etc, fit her perfectly, all the tops in Yours come just above my knees, I can wear them as dresses lol!

Having said that I do love a bit of retail therapy and go once a month for a mooch around Meadowhall, Sheffield or Doncaster and I know before I go where I will be eating lol! If I go with Mum we usually go to all the charity shops as we both love a good bargain, I'm liking the £3.50 wedges, good find!

All you food sounds yummy, it was very nice of them to put a GF dessert to one side for you, sounds like a really nice place and the burger sounds lush.

I'm with the girls on this.. a steady weight loss is easier to keep :) Well done on the 1.4 this week.. GO YOU!! x

Yeah, think we must have been posting at the same time. Glad you got a decent loss, it seems at a very sustainable rate which is definitely a positive.

I actually spluttered coconut oil coffee all over my laptop at "cat-alogue". He he! She looks like she knows exactly how gorgeous she is. And far more sensible than either of my felines. You can only take a picture of Silly when she is asleep or else she runs straight towards it to nuzzle it...

Your picnic sounds gorgeous, again. I think maybe i need to gatecrash your next one in order to catch the picnic big ;) Although i may take your lead and try and prepare some more interesting lunches for our walks when we are on holiday. I've re-calculated my TDEE - 10% for when we are on holiday and should be aiming for 3200 calories a day so that gives quite a bit of scope for some decent lunch time snacking!

Oops, sorry about the coffee splutter. Oh she definitely does know how gorgeous she is, although she doesn't really like having her photo taken and will usually walk or turn away as soon as she sees the camera. OH had to take about 50 shots to get those three decent ones!

3200! Yep, that is a fair amount of calories. Are you planning on taking nuts and dried fruit on your walks? Fats and calories on hand in lightweight quantities, and would help keep those cals up without filling you up too much. I can especially recommend dried mango... hmmm, think I may have to treat myself to some this week.

Thank you. Yes, I couldn't manage without that app. At the moment I use it on my kindle, as my mobile is truly a dinosaur. (I always joke that I could leave it in the desk at school for a week and it would still be there, 'cos none of the kids would want it!) Got a new phone coming tomorrow though, so will be able to play with it on there. Got to admit, I am a bit like David Walliams on 'Big School' the other week, when he said he didn't need to make a call over the weekend, so he didn't have his phone on! Ironic really, as I worked for BT when mobiles first came out, and we always had the newest models before anyone else. I had the first mobile in my street!

Know what you mean about the length of clothes in larger sizes. I think the clothing manufactures think big always means tall!

I'm with the girls on this.. a steady weight loss is easier to keep :) Well done on the 1.4 this week.. GO YOU!! x

Thanks JoJo.

Thanks Serena. Yep, as long as I can get there before I am drawing my pension. Lol. Some of the people I work with turn their noses up at the vintage/second hand shops, but they seem to forget that a lot of the stars shop in vintage shops to get their 'look.' I always hit them before the other 'new' shops when I go shopping, especially when I am going down a size!

I tend not to even worry with the 'new' shops ;-) I love a Charity Shop, luckily not many people round here want the 6s or 8s so I've had some fantastic finds over the years! And you'll definitely get there before your pension cos you've got us lot ;-) x
