MWWWD (or Moonwatcher's Weight Watchers Diary!)

I love eating out aswell I do be looking up the menu on the net trying to suss out what im gona have I so have the menu worn out by the time I get there lol

Another gorgeous sounding day's food :) Think you are making excellent use of your points since being back on WW. Sounds like the woman at the burger place is great - taking the gluten issue seriously and trying to be as accomodating as possible, i guess its not something i have ever had to look into but its surprisingly how many eat out options you have found that can be gluten free.

Despite my obsession with food I am not generally that fussed about eating out. I generally prefer eating at home if I am honest. I like the occassional meal out, don't get me wrong, but 9 times out of 10 i would much prefer to be eating my own food in my own house. I suspect I sound very boring! I do like trying new things though. I think food shopping is my equivalent of eating out - i get very excited about trying new food shops ;)

The only meal I agree with you on is Roast, NOBODY makes Roast as good as me, not even Toby C ;-) x

Oh yes, I refuse to have any roast dinner not made by me as they are always a profound disappointment.

Glad I'm not the only one! Other people don't understand it when I say it lol x

yeap I 100% agree with the roast thing. That and spag bol. I make a mean spag bol ya cant beat it

Ill be round tomorrow night too ;-) x

I did not know about 50% off!

I love eating out. It's harder now I can't have dairy, but the good thing is it rules out dessert! I always used to eat dessert, my favourite was chocolate fudge cake with cream. Gorgeous, but I'd feel so ill afterwards. It's not worth it any more!

Yes, same here with the gluten free, although I can find quite a few places, but it rules out the temptation for impulse cakes!

It's only on Mondays but I'm sure u and Dave might be able to go on a Monday? X

Are u sure I'm not your Twin ;-) I plan my Town Choice by the choice of Food Outlets! X

Hehe. Sounds like we are 'cut from the same cloth.'

Yes, she was very helpful. Generally it has not been as much of a trial as I expected. Most of the time people are very willing to help, although sometimes it takes them ages to find the info, and you almost end up wishing you hadn't asked. That is the thing I find difficult to be honest, I feel like I am making a fuss by asking. Like the other day in Yarmouth - the restaurant we went to had gluten free, so you only had to pick out the gf stuff, and ask if the specials were gf, the ice cream place didn't know, although their board showed one (cookies and cream) that specifically said not gf, so the implication was that the others were. They were very keen to help and went off to find the company literature, but couldn't find it, so I ended up reading the ingredients off the tub lids! By the evening, although I was getting peckish, and OH suggested getting something, I couldn't face the rigamarole of asking/checking anywhere else, so just got a bag of crisps!

Just stopping by to let you know I've tracked my points the last 3 days, so far I have had 2 days 28/31 and yesterday worked out at 32/31 so thats just 1 weekly used. Conversely this works out at 18.5 Sw syns, I can see the benefits of WW against SW in terms of flexibility for me as there seems to be no need to use my weeklies really during the week and I might be able to enjoy my weekends without the dreaded guilt factor, as with SW saving syns for the weekend is seen as a bit of a grey area.

My weekly weigh in is on Thursday am so I might swap it round to WW on Thursday if my points are still tracking well. Very interesting experiment I must say, thanks for your help on this.

My mum has a gluten/dairy allergy, I am sure I said all about it before, and eating out can be really tough for her, you seem to be doing well on it though xx

That sounds good so far LW. The flexibility is what sways it for me, and the lack of rules like the pureed or mashed banana being synned, when a 'whole' banana isn't. I think SW is a healthy plan, with the emphasis on cooking from scratch, but WW is good for portion control and to me it just makes more sense and fits in better with my life.

Yes, I'm sure you have said about your mum. Gluten and Dairy Free must make it very difficult for eating out. I'm having the odd slip up, but I suppose that is normal as it is early days. Initially I was still going to allow myself little things like soy sauce, oxo cubes etc., but it is obvious now that isn't going to work, so it has to be 100%. I do feel loads better for it though, as long as I stay strict with myself.

Not been around on here much, so need to update for today and yesterday. Have just caught up on diaries, but not commented much ladies, as running out of time! Sorry about that, I will try harder!

Tuesday 27th August

Breakfast - Greek yogurt with a little dried fruit and maple syrup (6PP)

Lunch - home made courgette soup, with some leftover moroccan houmous stirred in, 2 pieces gluten free toast with cheddar and firemite sauce, plums (8PP)

Dinner - gluten free spaghetti with prawns, chorizo and sweet chilli philly light, cooked plums with sweetener and a tiny squirt of spray cream (not tiny because of willpower, tiny because the tin was empty) (13PP)

No snacks, except plums!

Drinks - water, diet ginger ale, teas (1PP for milk) one coffee with cream (2PP)

Totals -30PP, 29 dailies and one weekly. Weeklies remaining 24

I froze about 22lbs of plums today, after de-stoning them. Left about 4lbs out for eating, but had to freeze the rest for cooking later, or will start to lose them. Also caught up on some washing and a bit of ironing, and cooked a pea and veg curry with coconut ready for Wednesday night.

Wednesday 28th August.

Out for the afternoon today. The Sea Life centres are doing a special offer for teachers until the end of August where you can get free entry for you and one guest. Although I am a teaching assistant and not a teacher I filled in the form, put down 'teaching assistant for special needs' and went along with my id card and a payslip as requested as proof of my employment. I thought the worst they could say was it doesn't apply to teaching assistants, only teachers, but they were fine, so we got two free tickets. Spent the afternoon looking at the sharks, rays and other fish, otters, seals, penguins etc. It was good fun and probably not something we'd normally do, but we both enjoyed it.

We had planned to go to a little cafe in the same town (Hunstanton) to try their gluten free cakes, but by the time we had found it, they were closed, so had a walk along the front and an ice lolly, then back to the car for a quick drive to Heacham beach for our picnic.

So, the food count today is

Breakfast - 1 ounce gluten free muesli with milk (counting 2PP for the milk - some left for tea) 3PP for the muesli (5PP in total)

Lunch - pretty much the same as Monday's houmous picnic, but without the treacle tart, a few more houmous crisps and fewer crackers, plus a thin slice if cheddar. Worked out as 14PP

Dinner - bowl of the pea and veggie curry (5PP)

Snacks - gluten free treacle tart after the curry (5PP)

Drinks - lavender earl grey and vanilla chai teas with the rest of the milk from breakfast, one coffee and cream (2PP), gin and slimline (2PP), water

Totals 33PP, 29 dailies and 4 weeklies. Weeklies remaining 20 (most of which will be for tomorrow night) APs - not sure, as didn't really notice how long we had walked for. Going for 6, for 90 minutes walking. Total APs so far this week - 10.

Oops - forgot the lolly, another 2PP, so 35 total. 18 weeklies remaining. Should be enough for tomorrow night as going to keep breakfast and lunch points low.

Wow MW! Your updates tire me out just reading them!!! I'm loving the sound of FREE Sea Life Entry, love doing stuff like that but it's always so expensive! Plum Freezing sounds good, do you have a Chest Freezer? My mum always freezes loads of Blackberries to see her through the Winter.x

I know the banana thing is truly mad, I mean if you were only going to have one what difference does it make, but I think it's to stop you using it as an ingredient in desserts/smoothies if you know what I mean.

So far so good, my SW days are tracking nicely with the WW points, still only 1 weekly used, that mean I have 48 for vodka tonight :party0016:

We have two freezers actually! One upright and one chest freezer. It means there is nearly always room for if we get a glut from the garden. Although at the moment we have a major courgette overload, but you can't really freeze them! I love hedgerow blackberries - so full of flavour.

Well, food so far today not exactly according to plan, but I should have enough weeklies left for tonight to not be a problem. I have worked out the burger, chips, salad and sauce at 24 points so far, also including a cappucino. I have used 13PP today, so that makes 37, and leaves me 10 weeklies for anything else. They do include coleslaw, but I probably won't have it, and given I don't think there will be a dessert, I shouldn't have any problem. Will drink diet coke as I don't really enjoy a proper drink when I eat out.

So all should be good, but I am feeling very low today. I know exactly why - we have a christening to go to in 3 weeks, which will mean finding something to wear. I should be looking forward to the christening, but I am instead just dreading not only the dress buying but wearing it on the day. My OH's ex wife will be there. There are no problems between us -she is lovely, and they had split up years before I came on the scene, but she is slim and stylish, and I just know that no matter what I wear, however OK it will look in the changing room, that I will feel huge and awful on the day. I really should be old and mature enough to deal with these kind of things by now without being reduced to such dread! After all, the focus will be on the baby and mum and dad, but tbh I would rather just not go.

Can u post me some Courgettes, I love them! The ones in the supermarket are always so tasteless! X

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit down about the imminent christening and dress buying but 3 weeks is a long time, you could have lost some more weight by them and therefore have more choices of frocks and I'm sure whichever you will choose you will look beautiful.
I'm liking your preparation with regards to your meal out tonight, as my diary says 'If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail' so you should be just fine :) x

Just to say that no matter how you feel today, just remember how far you've come and how rubbish you would have felt prior to beginning your weight loss journey with an upcoming event to go to and nothing to wear. You're doing great, I think everyone has people in life that they feel 'huge' compared to but please don't let this sit on your confidence as I'm sure you'll look lovely!x
