It is my husbands soup maker as it was bought for his birthday so he gets first choice and he has said leek and potato.

I am not sure if I have said before but he does most of the cooking as he enjoys it and he eats meat which I don't at all so if he wants it he cooks it !!

I do the weird and wonderful stuff and my slimming world stuff and the baking and making of pizza dough

I was lucky as my husband had his own house for 6 years before we moved in together so he was fully house trained !!

Whereas I am not domestic at all but needs must etc and after 10 years of living together we have a sort of pattern over who does what around the house.

Plus when I am going through one of my bad patches health wise or after one of my procedures or operations he just takes over for a while.

I am sorry to hear about the redundancy it is so difficult. We have been through 3 with my husband in 15 years so I know what it is like.

My husband came fully trained too...about the only thing he doesn't do is ironing. He would but it's painful to watch!! I've been like you Jaffa, if I've had back issues or anything for that matter he just takes over. I'm very grateful for that.

Cavegirl...sounds like he got sidetracked in the garage! lol. Glad he has some other things lined up to fill his time. I agree, men don't do well lazying around at home etc. or women for that matter.

We brought some things back from the other house where our eldest lives.Metal shelving units, boxes of nails, screws, paintbrushes etc.He put the units up and moved everything onto them. :)

I bet he examined each item before putting it on the shelf I know I would have spent the whole day procrastinating
