Quins; back to the plan.

Suzyflo, thanks for your support. I am not eating enough to get me through the commute home, it's as soon as I get in the door my resolve collapses, feel famished and I could eat my shoes. I will work it out. I ate 2 bananas yesterday, an apple, plums, but it's not doing it or me. I shall have to hav some drum sticks on the rain on a red day, what else an I snack on whilst commuting without it turning into a picnic?

Thanks Happyholidays, I will take more free food to snack on. I managed better in winter, used to have a mug shot before leaving work, I just don't fancy it at mo. I walk 1.5 from work to and from the station , and an hour on the train. I should make sure I have some free food and a drink.

I am not weighing, but I know I have gained loads, probably 5 to 6 pounds over the last 6 weeks

Was it your leaving do? Are you having a change? Glad you enjoyed your curry. I'm a bit concerned about the non weighing...don't make the same mistake as I did before and end up way over target, it's a bugger to get off again! I think you should get weighed, see exactly where you're at and get straight to work at getting back to your target range before it gets out of hand.

You'll have to share your curry recipes, I do like a nice curry. I make one with Quorn pieces. Cut a red onion into wedges, fry in fry light until soft add 1 pinch of cinnamon, 1 tsp ground coriander, 1 tsp cumin & 1 tsp turmeric & stir for about 2 mins add 1 tbsp tomato puree, half a clove of garlic & red chilli to taste, add 75mls chicken stock, simmer for 5 mins then stir in the Quorn pieces & cook until heated through, remove from the heat and stir in 2 tbs of f/f natural yogurt, return to very low hear and simmer gently until you have a creamy texture - serve with rice. :)

Suzyflo, you are bang on, i will weigh tomorrow morning and take the shame. I need to fess up and move on. You've been there done it, I will take your advice and get on with it. I worked the plan to get to target, I know I can get back if I make the right choices . Thank your the reality check.

I will try your curry recipe f te Quorn pieces. I tend to use my Madhur Jaffrey book (got it in the 80s!) and cut out the oil. I think the trick to a good hoe made ruby is the paste. 6 cloves garlic, inch of ginger and alf an onion, put in a blender with enough water to make a paste. Pukka. Add that to a an of frying onions , fennel seeds, chicken r quorn etc, cook it till holes appear n the paste, (water is evaporating) can cook more until the paste begins to colour a bit , add your spices of choce like your curry recipe, then a half or whoe tin chopped toms, you can add cayenne pepper, yoghurt (5 tabespoons , 1 at a time to encorporate into the toms) and splenda to sweeten if you like. Fresh coriander sprinkled over the curry gives it another authentic touch.
