Think I'm going to up my syns a bit this week and allow myself some chocolate  *shock horror*, just fancy a penguin, lol.

i've not been reading your food diary but make sure you're having your full allowance of syns as often as possible. at your weight they're required. infact i would suggest that for the next few weeks you should intentionally oversyn 2 days a week. you dont want your body going into starvation mode or you'll plateau for ages. at your weight your body needs more calories than someone following the same diet at 200lb. although slimmingworld isnt a calorie counting diet it's sometimes worth keeping them in mind. have a look at the following site, it'll tell you how many calories you can eat to lose weight, you'll see that it recommends calorie cycling to keep the body in weight loss mode.

Calorie Calculator - Daily Caloric Needs

i usually have at least 1 flexi syn night a week and it usually works for me. but you have to keep in mind that your losses will slow down and you will get to a point where it's only a pound or two a week. but over the course of the year that at least 4 stone. which really is alot. SW isnt a crash diet. it's a way of life.

thanks guys! not worried about the gain. i've been expecting it. i know that my body needs to plateau before it can lose again and with that i'll see a gain here and there. all part of the ride :D

woodland girl has a point about stressing over WIs and losing each week. i'm beyond that. i'm happy to WI and if i gain i gain. as long as i dont keep gaining. i'm sticking to plan and know long term it works so the odd blip is fine with me.

Well done on your 2.5lb loss Gail and congrats on going past the 5 stone marker:bunnydance::bunnydance:. Looks like Smartie is going to have to share her new sticker with you lol  your gourmet eat sounds lovley!

Wow - you're a chatty lot in here!

Thanks for all the welcomes and the congratulations! :D

Well done to everyone reporting a loss today and stick with it for those with a gain, or an unexplained STS.

SillySausage - please tell Sarah (sorry, haven't managed to work out who's who yet!) that now that my big knickers are rather too big, I'm happy to donate them to a worthy cause - and saving someone from splatting on the ground at a rate of knots seems very worthy!!

I did a tandem skydive about 10 years ago - never again!

Why_d, you sound very wise - love your attitude to the odd gain. I've been lucky enough to only gain/STS when it can be explained - ie a weekend away, holiday, or Christmas. Getting to the stage now where I'm expecting a few unexplained results...when I did SW before I seemed to plateau between 12.5 and 13 stone...:(

Gail - woohoo! Fab loss and a new shiny! :happy096:

Heya Spanx , I know you don't have to exercise with SW but if you do reach a plateau or have unexpected gains then have you tried exercising? I plateaued a for quite a while at 12.5 - 12.0 stone and have now started exercise and the weight has started coming off again.

Thanks K-wise, enjoy your zzzzzzzzzzzzzs!

Sum - I have recently upped the exercise in the hopes of avoiding the plateau. I'm doing C25K to prepare for a race for life in June (but have discovered I really don't like running!) and have been zumba-ing and cycling - hopefully it will pay dividends! Congrats on getting past your plateau - what exercise do you prefer?

Ohh wow good luck with the C25K and race for life in June :D I don't like running either. I am doing the 30 day Shred DVD and i may hate Jillian (She's a sadist lol) but i also love her as its defiantly working :D I'd defiantly recommened the exercise DVD

forgot to say well done to gail! fantastic result!

Oooh, I've heard about Jillian's shred, but I'm not sure I'm brave enough!!! Are you finding it really hard?

I found level 1 was ok, it wasn't too hard to do but level 2 i am finding much harder to do. So i've just decided to stick to level 2 for longer than 10 days. I would recommened it as your body adapts to the exercises really quickly and i'm sure you would do really well :D

P.s. It does defiantly help with 'toning' as i am sure i have less 'wobbly' bits too lol

Welcome Spanx!!
Nice new shiny Gail!

The missues - try not to get disheartened, maybe your body just needs time!

Everyone else - sorry have not scrolled all the way back, but well done on your losses and sts's. Those that have gained - keep going for a big loss next week!!!

I ended up at the beach today (spontaneous trip with the siblings)

I'm proud because we took a picnic (that I made and was absolutely delicious (sanity rice, boiled eggs, chicken salad, sw quiche, cold meats, homemade coleslaw... Whoot!! We stayed on the beach for most of the day, played in the sea and that stupid Velcro game! (with the ball) - hello body magic! Anddd then prize bingo - where I won a £25 food/drinks voucher for the 'family bar' so ended up staying for dinner and... AND.. Can report that I had a jacket potatoe and beans! Whoop! I'd normally have gone straight for the specials board or carvery/whatever and used some syns - but oh no, syn free Sunday! Those cookies (or scales) will my defeat me yet!!!

Will check back with results of my WI tomorrow (fingers crossed for a sts and not a gain!!)

Yaaaaay. Well done Elaine. That's brilliant.

Don't worry about using some syns though every day - they will probably help you stay on plan, if you're anything like me. I used to keep my syns low but now I generally use most of them. It's what has helped me stay on the plan for the last 8 months. Otherwise I'm much more likely to yoyo off course.

You should be very proud though :)

Thanks Hun!!

After your recent advise (about limiting and then going off plan etc) I've decided I'm going to start using them all (well 6-10) every day, or at least every other day. Buy wanted to have success express/little syns this weekend as used all my syns for this week by Wednesday night! AND had Chinese on Thursday night AND then off plan Friday night.
Cant believe I'm admiring this - but yeah! Urgh! From this week (well, after wi tomorrow) I will be following your advice!

And did I say well done on the new milestone?! If not a massive WELL DONE

OK - I'm persuaded - expecially after I saw it's only £5 on Amazon! I shall no doubt be cursing you later this week when it arrives! :D
