And you've put your finger on my dilemma, I love London too, but I do also love the sea...and I can't afford to buy anywhere in London!

Yes hun but they are way out west London and miles from anywhere, I'm not sure I'd feel safe walking home in winter....

Going down to the coast next weekend so will have a good look around. I like the idea of this 2 bedder because that means no mortgage!

Because that's the next dilemma - go for a really basic flat or get a smallish mortgage and get something nicer

Half twelve and I'm still up trying to stop the flat from flooding

I'm in a basement flat with a small enclosed patio. Leaves keep covering the one small drain, and because the rain is so heavy the water just keeps coming up and up. I have got soaked twice but now have got the broom out the window (not easy with the security bars!) and keep swirling the leaves out of the drain, which seems to be doing the trick and saves getting wet. Hope I won't be here all night!

Never known it to do this before and I've lived here for two years...
