Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Glad you are feeling a bit more chipper today Susie, the right place will come along for you, we lost 2 houses before we ended up with this one so I know how you feel, plus living in a 2 berth caravan in a field for a month was a lot of fun..............not lol

Sending love and hugs xxxx

Oh sweetie the caravan thing doesn't sound too good, was that while you were waiting to move into yours?

Pleased to report I have moved off the sofa - well, a bit :) Made a mushroom and basil quiche for lunch (very nice), and sweet potato gratin instead because I found a recipe for broad bean pate that I think would go nicely with courgette and mushroom bread, might try that tomorrow. Just got some tomatoes simmering down for pasta sauce to freeze; then will do some cauli mash, again for freezing.

Can you tell I'm trying to use up lots of veg? :D

LOL Susie, yes it does :)

Yes, we had sold our place and did not want to lose the sale on it by delaying so the caravan it was, in November for a whole month lol xx

Chains are a pain in the behind! November - gosh you must have been a bit cold!

LOL on the cooking front here too - the flat is so tiny it is overflowing with veg - but at least I know what I'm eating now is all made from scratch, without any salt or anything else added - and it's great fun :)

Am also watching cooking shows now too :D David Rocco is on now - very easy on the eye :D

Yum to the broad bean pate Susie!! Food sounds amazing! Xxx

Doesn't it, Di? Now I just have to remember which book I saw the recipe in! :D

House stinks of cauliflower now, done two lots of mash and two lots of rice, ready for the freezer, plus four serves of the sweet potato gratin.

So now of course, being never happy, I need a bigger freezer...

hahahaha Susie, I would love one of those huge 2 door american fridge/freezer thingies but that would probably take up your whole kitchen (and mine too as it is the tiniest room in the house lol) xx

I think one of those fridges would be bigger than my kitchen!

Hmm I was going to attach a pic - but it won't do it unless i downsize the pic massively - anyone else had that problem?

I'm very lucky to own one of those fridge freezers...I love it to fill with all my cooking when I can be bothered to use all my books!! And use the kitchen for that matter!

OMG! I want that kitchen! When can I move in!! Xxx

Morning all :)

Tipping it down here so another day indoors, getting ready for the week - and fixing up the music on my iPhone, I do love it but iTunes does weird things occasionally and I've got to re-download all my purchased music 'cause it has disappeared! :(

Enjoy your day xxx

Mmm I love sweet potatoes too (or as we Kiwis call them, kumara).

Am quite proud of yesterday's efforts - in the freezer are four slices of gratin, two lots cauli mash, two lots cauli rice and two lots pasta sauce, all poured into freezer bags and all made from scratch :) I would never have dreamed of doing this two years ago!

Today's efforts (after a mountain of laundry) will be the courgette bread and some mushroom soup for dinner - got loads of mushies to use up, might even saute some to have on toast for brunch. Also going to chop up carrots, beetroot, asparagus, beans, broccoli and leafy stuff for a salad bowl that I can keep topped up for work, although if it keeps being cold like this it might have to turn into soup!

Yum yum!!!!! What a busy busy bee you've been, I really, really should get back to batch cooking! In fact that is what I shall do later today....! Then that is all my weekly food sorted!

By the way my bestie is a Kiwi too! :)

LOL Jo we Kiwis get about :D Although I've been here nearly two decades so there's not much NZ-ness left :)

Lisa - my best friend is Youtube when it comes to figuring out the iPhone - there's usually some pimply American teenager on there who can sort the problem out :D Mind you, it's nearly midday and all I've done is download a couple of ringtones :D

Afternoon Susie, I can spend hours on i-Tunes and youtube but get shouted at for having my earplugs in when the missus wants me to make a brew lol. xx

Jo, your kitchen is gorgeous, lucky thing xx

Morning Susie:)
Sounds like you have been working your socks off in the kitchen - all yummy:D. And ((hugs)) on house - the right one will come along!

Exciting on the hols - sounds great
Xxxx
