Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Jo I am very envious of your kitchen! Look at all that space - mine is about the size of your dresser :)

Going to look at a house tomorrow, but will bore you with it only if I think it's any good :D

Time for a nap. It's a hard life, eh? Wish I had another five days off :D

Awww thanks....I however want to rip it out and start again! It's the only room not touched since we moved in last year!

And bore away with house/flat hunting! We want to see too :)

Don't you just love the wardrobes?

As they say on tellie, "it has potential"...but the agent has probably used one of those special lenses that make a room look bigger and nicer than the original :D

You know when you were younger, met a nice bloke, went on a date and immediately imagined getting married to them (and I know I'm not alone in this, Bridget Jones did it too lol)? Well these days I do it with houses - I haven't even seen this one in the flesh and already I'm knocking walls down :D :D

How many coats of paint did it take before the red stopped coming through???

I can imagine the two reception rooms knocked through, just depends on the layout.

Am just watching Rachel Khoo, "Little Paris Kitchen", she does turn out nice food in a small space - but am finding her a bit irritating, tbh - maybe it's because she's from Croydon and ***** Woman at work is too :D

Oooohhhhhh fingers crossed hun!!! You could get a mansion here for that.....lol!!

Let us know how you get on!!!

Hope it all goes well, xx

Morning Susie... House looks fab! Lots if potential! Xx

I feel the same as you do about Rachel... Like her recipes but she's annoying! Lol xx

Looks great Susie and big rooms. Looks mostly like decorating so that's good. Wow some colors going on there. Orby would love it too. Good luck today. x

Morning all

Lovely blue skies here for the first day back at work - isn't that just typical! Interesting getting in to the office, they are filming Les Miserables here, there are film crew everywhere, and I had to pick my way around horses and carriages to get to the front door LOL. Still, keeps things lively :)

Diet-wise, the weekend was terrible - that strudel (oops), some chocolate turkish delight (oh dear) and lots of rum and raisin ice cream (hanging my head in shame) and I've put on about 5lbs. BUT I allowed myself that bad stuff because I've decided to cut out alcohol for a while (an unspecified while), so it was a trade off :D. Today is Day 6 of my AFZ (alcohol free zone) and I'm back in the healthy zone.

B - museli and soya milk, soya yoghurt, an apple, soya latte
L - salad - lettuce, spinach, asparagus, beans, avocado, carrot and orange pieces, with a little mandarin oil as dressing - the colours look gorgeous!
D - not sure yet, might try some bean and tomato soup....
W - need to get back into the 2 litres a day routine
E - am going to go for a walk at lunchtime, if the filming has finished :)

How many coats of paint did it take before the red stopped coming through???
Only 2 coats of one coat paint. If you take the bathroom off the back and stick it on top of the kitchen you've got my house there! There's still a lot round here that have the bathroom downstairs as they're all Victorian and bathrooms were added later. Mine was put in upstairs in what was a back bedroom so it's really quite big.

Oh love the sound of the salad Susie, did you make the dressing?

No hun I buy this stuff - Nudo Straight from the grove - expensive but worth it - and delicious drizzled over chicken and lettuce mmmm :)

Will be interesting to see if there's enough room upstairs for an en suite! Is that sort of thing expensive to do? Roll on 5pm :D

You do know now that your house hunting today is going to drag like mad lol!!!

Fingers are still crossed x

En suites are quite cheap as long as you've got pipe work for the waste etc that's easy to tap into...only starts getting pricey if you have to use saniflow to pump it elsewhere! So if the bathroom is close to where it's wanted you should be fine.....

It'll be about £600 -£1000 including the suite, stud walling, decorating and labour x

Thanks hun, that's really helpful - so the aim is to position the ensuite above the existing bathroom?

It's been a great day here so far, it's like a madhouse - there are extras and crazy props everywhere for Les Mis, and I've been escorting other film crews around - so the day is flying past :D
