Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Morning all

Toss turn night's sleep so today will be full of naps, methinks :) And walks in the park  - had a cup of slimatee last night, no idea what's in it but by jingo it's strong stuff!

Had a lovely surprise this morning though, got an out of the blue email from my old boss from Sydney - she's part of the Australian Paralympic management team - and is on a plane as we speak, so we will be able to meet this week for a meal and a marathon catch up! :D

Toulouse sossies and boneless chicken things are baking in the oven, trying to use stuff up before Saturday, so there may be some odd combinations coming out of my kitchen this week!

Ooh - ask her to nab some tickets for the wheelchair rugby for me ;) very excited about the paras.

Chicken and sausage doesn't sound odd to me ;)

The Para Games are, imho, much closer to the Olympic spirit - much less sponsorship and commercialism around them!

And lol on the tickets, I'll ask!

The chicken and sausage combo are about the best of what's in the fridge :D Must pull my finger out and make a bacon and egg salad for lunch tomorrow, and maybe bacon, tomato and avocado for brekkie. Can you have too much bacon in one day? Have arranged to give carby cupboard stuff like flour and chickpeas to a lady at work this week, so the kitchen should be pretty ready for low carb/juddd when I get back. Made my courgette broth thing yesterday, the courgettes were getting fur on them! It is a fab tummy filler between mealtimes, for low carbs and cals. Also had chorizo and cabbage fried in butter, with a squirt of Alpro cream - but the cabbage was really old and it tasted sort of stale...

Have you forgotten which board you're on? You can never have too much bacon ;)

I'm having bacon and egg for my 'breakfast' once I actually get hungry for it.

Been a lovely lazy day today. Also downloaded loads of Amazon freebies, finished one book, started another, and also got a great travel guide, so I can read that on the coach.

Just boiling eggs for salad tomorrow and trying to empty out the fridge. Really not looking forward to work tomorrow, but at least the upside is I only have four days (sorry to rub it in :)), then it's off to sunny Italy! Weather forecast for Diano Marina looks perfect, about 24-25 degrees.

Morning all

Back at the salt mines today, people are now coming back from holiday and it's nice to see them all :)

Am taking myself in hand diet-wise a bit, so it's Atkins with a higher carb level, probably for the rest of the week and as much as I can while I'm away (apart from the odd gelato) -

B - bacon, tomato and avocado, soya latte
L - bacon and egg salad with little gem and mayo
S - yoghurt and stewed apple
D - lamb curry and cabbage

(45 carbs)

Hi, catching up on all the diaries, have a wonderful holiday...Italy is my favourite place to holiday, but good luck with low carbing there!!!!!

LOL yep Sammy it may well be hard avoiding pasta, etc, but will do my best. I always enjoy my coach trips for the time it gives me to reflect on life and my little dramas. Had some friends over on the weekend (they're Australian Paralympic management) - over many hours we chewed through the whole 'moving down the coast' thing and I think it's not the right time - the prices are great, great community - but the commute will be a nightmare - so it's back to looking at shoe boxes in London - at least if I then want to move down the coast, the rents are much better in London.

Really enjoying lunch, might change dinner and go for Essex's veggie bake instead :)

Sounds like your weekend has been the complete opposite of mine - lots of rushing about and very loud music - had a fab time, hope you are not getting too bored of all my photos on facebook lol - took over 600 over the weekend!!! xxx

Someone said to me - it's very easy to move out of London but very hard to move back. Yes we have shoeboxes here that cost the price of a palace further out but it's such a hard market to break into when coming the other way. The seaside will always be there when you're ready for it xx

Ooh, that's exactly the same as my house but in mine bed 3 has been turned into the bathroom and the lounge and diner are seperate. How about a place in London and a static caravan on the coast? Best of both worlds maybe?

Lisa, you are a genius - what a good idea - is it very £££ to put a bathroom in? At least the pipework would just need to come straight down...and I fancy nice French doors separating the lounge and diner.

I rang, it's still available and they will take an offer, probably between £170-175K. Can't see it before I go, so if it's meant to be, it will still be on the market when I get back. Can't actually make an offer until the job is sorted anyway.

And I do like the idea of a caravan - or a motorhome - and then I could upsticks and take Orbs to Italy :)

If you're willing to loose a bedroom I don't think it would be too expensive, as you say the plumbing is already directly underneath. French doors between the two rooms downstairs would mean the dining room could be used as an occassional guest room too.

Lol, I meant a holiday caravan that's permanently sited! No need for a car to tow it with and if you could keep Orbs indoors during visits to it, Bob's your Auntie!! A home by the sea for a fraction of the cost and if you could get broadband there you could even work from there if you wanted to.
