Your meals seem higher in calories, but maybe not fulfilling you or filling you up?

Betting..hahaah...well, if it is keeping your mind occupied, why not! So long as you have some wins :)!!
 
no wins so far!! had one race called off cuz of the rain and another is delayed cuz of the rain :sigh:

my meals (lunch and dinner) do fill me up as i have alot of veg but i just seem to pick :mad:
 
Just had my dinner and i weighed out the suggested serving size 50g with 100ml of milk and i swear that wouldnt even feed my little dog!!

So i had 100g cereal with 100ml of milk ... 450cals, 73.4g carbs :eek:, 16.4g fat (2.3g sats) 6.8g fibre

(i havnt accounted for the less milk i had except for the cals, so the carbs onwards still includes the extra 100mls milk i didnt have)

This is what i plan on having for brekkie along with a banana ... mary/jan/someone is this ok?

p.s ... the cereal was spanking!!!!
 
I know the 50g doesn't look like much Tan but it IS a serving and what you should try to stick to if you can. I remember when I first had my Lizi's granola I was appalled at how little it looked but it DID fill me and DID sustain me till lunch time. Portion size is what we need to try to get into control IMHO. I would have the proper portion and if you need something else have some protein - an egg perhaps?

I feel a bit of a fraud trying to advise you at the mo Tan because I'm not exactly a good example myself. But like everything else - we know what SHOULD be done :eek:

I think we're in a pretty similar place so believe me I know how you feel and how difficult it is to understand why we do the things we know we shouldn't and that are totally counter-productive. If I find the answers I'll bottle them, sell them and become a millionaire overnight!! If it was easy I guess there wouldn't be any fat people!! :eek: :)

Thanks Jan, i've taken yer advice and i've taken half the cereal out so now i just have the 50g it states as its portion size which leaves my breakfast at 252calories 36.7g carbs 8.2g fat 3.4g fibre.

feel better about that one. Got a banana too as im off to the gym today, guna run 2 miles :) x
 
Tanya, its like what I was saying last week, you really should try and do a menu which includes 3 healthy substantial meals each day, if you get filled up at meal times it will save you feeling so hungry that you need to snack so much in between and as Scotsmist suggests, you should be having the fruit as a snack rather than a meal. Try and include some carbs, protein and fruit at each meal.

At lunch and dinner I try to have half a plate of salad/veg - 1/4 plate protein - 1/4 plate carbs. It definitely keeps that little hungry snacky devil at bay.

I think yous are right. I had just the serving suggestion of my cereal in work this morning at 8:30 and i felt i didnt need anything else. I'm just being a glutten.

Just had my banana as feeling a little peckish. Not off to the gym today - maybe its a blessing - maybe i wont be thinking 'oh i've worked at this, burnt x amount of calories so now i can be a pig' ... who knows.

About to do home made burgers for the family then will make my lunch :)

B - Jordans oats, raisen & almond cereal with 100ml milk

*small banana

L - 2 egg omlette with tomatoe, ham and peas with side salad. Lf yog.

D - Tomato soup with kidney beans.

Apart from pasta or rice you could have kidney beans and/or chickpeas? Or you could mix in some different kinds of nuts (unsalted) which will up your 'good' fats for the day too!

Nuts and beans in salads are lovely!
Oh, and just a thought- you could make up your own 'muesli' type breakfast for far less cals/carbs/sugar etc. I sometimes used to use porridge oats, mix in one crumbled weetabix/some crumbled shredded wheat a few raisins, some flaked almonds/hazelnuts. It always came to less sugar and fat for sure (it must be in the preservatives they use or something?) and usually less cals- but if it was higher cal I wouldn't worry as I was so full it stopped me grazing?
 
hmm chips and salad?! maybe boiled new pots?

Omlette was gorgeous!!!!! First one since being off tfr - have to say i dont know what i was thinking before when i used to litterally have half a block of cheese in a massive omlette and a plateful of chips ... jeez :sigh: i didnt have any cheese in this one and it was spanking!! :giggle:
 
Thursday 6th August

Have been a busy bee today, left for work at 6:30am and have only just got home :p

Went to town after work, got myself a gorgeous fake leather short sleeved jacket from primark in size 14!!!! :D i loves it i do! :giggle:

Anyways, food today: (mary you will be pleased at my lunch ;))

B - Jordans cereal

*small banana

L - Ham salad sandwich (yes, 2 bits of wholemeal bread!!!! :eek:) with ex light mayo. LF Yog. Small apple.

D - Thai spiced baked chicken breast with half tin toms with some mixed herb and garlic mixed in.

*handfull of peanuts
*half square of yorkie
*few vodka and diet cokes (am off to bingo!!)

Carb day for me ... i need to start having them more often otherwise ill crash diet with carbs then forever be putting it back on and getting it back off when i do eat carbs.

So heres to carbs :giveup::worthy:

yeah jan .. think thats what made me munch the half square of choccie and peanuts before i went out. maybe some carbs for tea perhaps? boiled pot or something?

Anyways didnt win a thing at bingo ... and i now have to be up in less than 6 hours :eek: nevermind lol x
 
Yep I think so personally. As Mary says half plate of veggies/salad, 1/4 protein & 1/4 carbs. Low GI/GL carbs keep you fuller for longer so if it was potatoes you'd be better with baby new ones (skins on) or maybe a sweet one? I love sweet potatoes and they bake so much quicker than normal ones too. xx
 
I prefer pasta or rice rather than potatoes when I have a 'sauce'? Just a thought?

I'm off to Primark this afternoon too...I must keep an eye out for those jackets! LOL! Need new 'good' trousers but don't want to spend a fortune, plus I love their shoes & bags.....oh-err......I feel a spree coming on and I can't really afford it.....
 
Yeah irish, primark is lethal!! I went in yesterday just for a jacket, got one but also got another £15worth of stuff!! lol

Anyways, probs wont be on much for the rest of the day, got to pack, shower get some sleep. Heading to blackpool at 6am so wont be on untill monday evening.

Todays food: (i warn you.... i had a munchie head on :()

B - Jordans cereal

L - 6inch chicken breast subway on wheat bread and a jam donut!!! (i was craving one since yesterday, so thought yeah why not - one isnt going to hurt :sigh:)

D - slice of quiche and a rolo yogurt.

Munch :eek:
*packet malteasers
*big eat packet of quavers
*2 bread sticks with thousand island dip
*slice of home made quiche (i've made it for our journey tomorrow)

So, there we have it. Im officially a pig! :mad:

Ooooh forgot to mention - i weighed myself this morning and had a stay the same. I think maybe it would have been better mentally for me to have had a gain :sigh: i was expecting after all. Wont be weighing in again now untill the 21st (2 weeks) as im not here next friday to do so). I will not have a gain. I will not have a gain. I will not have a gain :S
