I do have plenty of sorting to do but I've hit a wall with it. Until the new bedroom is here there's not much more I can do as most things are in the wrong place and nowhere for them to go
Evening all! Been out to B&Q today to get the last few things we need to finish the bedroom prep. Tomorrow we are having the light switch changed as the existing one is cracked and rather tacky looking so we have got a nice chrome dimmer switch to replace it with. Mr Taz is finishing off all the last bits of painting today and tomorrow then we are all set. I can't believe the new bedroom is only a week away, I'm so excited! Tuesday it will be delivered sometime in the afternoon then we have all day Wednesday to completely empty the room of everything including the bed and the existing carpet, then the work starts on Thursday
We have a very pale lilac, almost white, on 2 of the walls and the chimney breast (boxed in unfortunately so no fireplace ) and the wall where the headboard will be are both dark purple. Not much of the walls will show as most of 3 of the walls will be covered by floor to ceiling wardrobes. The wardrobes are maple. We have nice new Egyptian cotton sheets for when the new bed arrives. I really can't wait now, although I know what the units will look like I still can't imagine what my bedroom will look like.
Sounds lovely !! I wanted to do our room lilac and purple but MrB really doesnt like purple ( reminds him of school apparently !!) so ours is black and white with flashes of Jade green and currently accessorized with lots of cardboard boxes :sigh:
I did try telling him he would see the pruple when he was asleep but he was ahving none of it LOL
I don't think the men should get involved in such things as choosing colours and furnishings! Mr Taz insists on getting involved and it's most annoying!
Don't get her started again Nomad - that would be a whole new re-organisation of design - hopefully the chimney on the roof is blocked so birds can't get stuck - just a thought x
It's very rude of men to get involved in stuff like that Taz - Mr Stone takes a walk on the wild side occasionally and it causes all kinds of problems - usually I find that if I go quiet for a while and start again later he will have lost his momentum and I can get going and plan x
I looked into that possibility, the guy said it would only cost about £400 but there's no way of knowing what we'd find when we start bashing through and it could be a very messy job and could throw up more work. As it would be only cosmetic I decided to leave it there. We wouldn't have had it as a fully working fireplace as it's in the bedroom, we would have had it boxed back into the nook and a nice mantelpiece.
