Taz's diary - Need to do this!

Afternoon all! Well the week is finally here! This time next week I will either be waiting for the carpet fitters or have a carpeted bedroom! Just the bed to go then which I still don't have a delivery date for yet. Tomorrow the stuff will arrive and I can't wait to get the first bit done

The bedroom arrives today :bliss: Ok, so it will be in boxes and just stacked against the back wall of the bedroom but once it's here that's the first stage It's our last night in the broken bed and not so comfy mattress tonight and then we are in Premier Inn's until Monday, coming back here every day to let the workers in and lock up after they've finished. Tomorrow we are completely clearing the room which means some of it will have to come into the lounge (2 wardrobe boxes and a few smaller boxes of clothes) so it will be a complete mess in here but as soon as the bedroom is finished it will all go back in

It will and I can't wait! So far I've spent all of this yeah on planning and preparing for this bedroom and I can't believe that we are only days away from it

I actually still have pictures of how the room looked when we bought the place so we will have real before and after shots! I do have some pictures of the old furniture but not the old room as a whole. I will post all pics when it's done. All the stuff arrived yesterday and it took an hour for the 2 delivery guys to get it all in. I have a picture of that too, it's one hell of a flat-pack! Today's job is to empty the room completely. I'm not getting too involved with that, mine is more of a supervisory role

Went to see my physio yesterday and it's not all good. I have an intense pain behind my knee cap so she has taped my knee up and I have to keep it taped for the week and hopefully the pain will go and I can carry on with the recovery. She has said that if it's not improved by next week and it's preventing rehab then she will have to send me back to my surgeon for him to investigate what is causing the pain I'm sending healing vibes to my poor knee and hoping it doesn't come to that.

I will be without my usual scales while the work is being done as I've had to put them away safely so I will have to be careful of what I am eating as I won't be able to check in on it. We won't be having a Premier breakfast every day as we will have to be back here for 8am to let the fitters in so I will have my usual breakfast here. We will be going out to dinner tomorrow night as it's our 5th anniversary (where did 5 years go???) and we will probably have a premier breakfast on Sunday as Mr Taz won't be working and the bedroom should be finished by then. If it all goes to plan then Sunday will be spent getting our stuff out of storage and sorting it back into the new room

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together Taz - Good luck with all the prep. That knee is not playing pretty is it Taz - Wag your finger at it and tell it to behave x

Well the work has begun! The fitter (yes, just the one!) arrived at 8am and we were surprised that he was alone. We expected at least 2! Then came surprise number 2. I said we'd been told it would be finished in 3 days and was this correct and he said it would only take him 2 days!!! Even better! Mr Taz started to worry a bit that there was only one person doing it but I said he obviously knows what he is doing as it's his job! Then Sharps called to check that he had arrived and that everything was ok. When I said we were surprised that there was only one person she said that the guy we've got is very experienced and if he say's it will only take him 2 days then he will get it done, so that was a comfort to us. She then gave us her direct number to call incase there were any problems and she said she would call us again on completion to make sure everything was ok. She also said she would call the fitter later to make sure everything is ok from his side of it. So all round a very happy Taz and Mr Taz

It's our anniversary today so we are going out in an hour or so to go to the cinema then have an early dinner before coming back here to lock up then going back to our temporary home!

Well we were impressed at the amount of work done yesterday! He turned up early this morning and got straight to work and will finish later this afternoon. Can't wait to see the finished article and I can't wait to sort all this mess out! It's very noisy here today and I can't wait to go out! Being picked up at 11am to go and get my knee re-taped (I have Rock Tape on my knee again as it has been so painful and due to the chaos I can't remember where I put my 4 rolls of tape!) then going for lunch and checking into tonights hotel, then back here to sign off the work and wait for Mr Taz to get home from work at 10pm

The bedroom is finished! And I LOVE it. It's soooo nice and I can't wait to get all the stuff back in to see how it's going to work and I can't wait to get the carpet fitted (Monday) and the new bed in (still no idea when that's arriving!) And I really can't wait to get my lounge back! As of Monday we have nowhere to sleep until the new bed arrives and without knowing when that will be I don't know what we are going to do! We have an air bed but with my knee still so weak I really don't think I will be able to get in and out of it easily. We have been staying in Premier Inns which I booked ages ago and got all the rooms for £19 per night but I'm struggling to find anything at a justifiable price now
