Taz's diary - Need to do this!

Very good! Being discharged means one less restriction for getting back to full duties at work. Now as soon as I can walk like a real person I can get back to proper work!

I didn't have my exercise group yesterday so instead I went to the gym! I did 10 minutes on the sit down bike (part of my rehab plan) then did some upper body and abs resistance stuff. Felt good for doing it and this morning I could feel some of the muscles that I'd worked out yesterday so I know it did some good! I have an appointment at the gym tomorrow evening to set my program properly so I will know what I'm doing for now. Tonight I have the exercise group followed by aquafit so that should be fun! It means I won't get home til about 9pm but it's all for a good cause :D

The physio said she could see improvement already which is a good thing! Went to Aquafit as planned and it was a really good class. Met someone I know there who goes to that class every week so I've booked up for next week too. That's 3 classes booked for next week! Felt great after it, I really had forgotten the buzz exercise give you! I got home at half 8pm so even when I'm back to work properly it's not too late to get home. Bed time now, night all :D

Thanks Nomad. Just been to the gym. I'm going to have the weekend off then back to all the activities on Monday :D

Brilliant Taz - This is what you have been waiting for and you are grabbing it with both arms and, fabulously, with your legs as well x

Morning all! I rested the weekend ready for another week of activeness :D I have the week off so I have 3 exercise sessions booked, 3 Aquafit sessions and I will go to the gym twice. Today is a fairly quiet one, I'm going for an eye test (nothing wrong with my eyes but why not?!) then to the gym. I have a few chores to attend to here after that

Hope you've had a good day Taz - have a lovely evening too x

Hmmm well I didn't expect that! Went for my eye test today and they said I'm ever so slightly short sighted! Only a fraction apparently but that surprised me as I've never had any trouble with my sight

Don't worry about it unless it gives you problems Taz. Eye tests are good for all kinds of reasons but these days they pick up minute discrepencies. What have they suggested? There are apparently minor changes to my "everyday" eyesight but the only thing I need glasses for is reading. They tried it on once with varifocals (I was used to having "no prescription" in the non-reading part and prescription for reading) and as soon as they changed it to prescription I had trouble - made me feel really queasey - in the end I went back to just reading glasses to save complications. It seems sometimes opticians "predict" your needs for the next 12 months - No thank you - I want a prescription for NOW - never saw an optician with a crystal ball ;) x

I'm not convinced! I will try them and if they make me feel bad they will be going straight back!

Been to the gym yesterday. Aquafit this morning then I've got the exercise group this evening. Had a small accident this morning, I was getting up from a seat in Subway and as I moved my bum off the chair my knee wouldn't hold so I ended up coming straight off the seat and onto the floor! It hurt a little and the swelling went up a bit on my knee. I've iced it so hopefully it will be ok. The swelling was doing a good job of going down so I don't want that interrupted

Make sure you rest and elevate it in between the exercise Taz x

I am Gem, I have plenty of ice packs in the freezer ready to go :) I have a chilled day today, all the activity is in the evening. I have rehab followed by Aquafit tonight. Tomorrow I have a lunchtime rehab session so I might go for a gentle swim after and that will be my weeks activities done and I will have the weekend off :D

I have been reading the new Paul McKenna book and last night I listened to the CD's. I had gastric band hypnotherapy a few years ago and it worked until I needed a top up and the therapist was too far away for me to go back. So far it seems that this is going to work just the same and I can listen to the CD anytime I like to keep it working. So here goes, I have just over 5 weeks til my return to work date and I am about an inch off fitting into my work trousers.

I was in Asda yesterday and they have their summer clothing in. There were a few items that I would love to relocate to my wardrobe but luxuries will have to wait til I am back earning. I just hope they don't change the range before then :/

I fear that Mr Taz may be right and the kitchen wont happen this year :( We have to let them know in June if we want to go ahead in September and I won't start earning properly til June so the chances of raising the rest of the deposit by then are zero :( All the savings will now have to be used to pay the shortfall in the bills for the next 2 months so we will be beyond skint. And we are going on holiday in 4 weeks! Ah well, I'm sure it could be worse

Evening all! Well day one of the new me has gone very well indeed! I have a lot of energy, more than I have mobility to use it! I'm not hungry and when I get the pang it is satisfied with only small amounts of food. It's the best thing ever, I can eat what I want when I need to without eating too much.

I have rehab tomorrow lunchtime and I am hoping to get a quick dip in the pool after to get a few gentle lengths in.

Thanks Gem. There are a lot of skeptics about this method but this is the second time for me and I know that it works. I think people underestimate the power their subconscious has!

Morning all! Back to work today after a week off. I spent my whole week off focusing on my rehab and I'm not sure how I'm going to get everything in with going back! I've got my 4 rehab sessions booked in and only one Aquafit. I am going for a quick swim this morning before rehab and I will try to get some other swimming sessions in too. My physio suggested holding a float between my legs to keep them afloat and use only my arms for now. I have ordered a float and float shoes which should arrive this week so I won't be tempted to kick and hurt my knee :) I'm back for 4 weeks which seems a bit daunting now as I also have to up my hours a bit. The timing is nice though as I have 4 weeks left of my rehab program and after that I have a week away in the Lake District and when I come back I should be back to work properly!

I'm off to the pool, have a good day everyone
