I doubt it- I bet he's missing you as much as you are missing him. My mate married a lad who worked on the submarines and I used to see some of the states she got herself into when she didn't hear from him. It was awful, but there was nothing she could do about it :( She made him leave the navy in the end!

Dear Grandad,

I love you but right now I could happily swing for you. Yes I am overweight, yes i am pregnant, yes I do have extreme nausea which means I've binned half of the food I've even tried to eat today but when I finally find something I want to eat that I can eat a full portion of you telling me i am fat and criticizing me does not bloody help.

I'm well aware of my weight and my diet that's why I am doing Slimming World but when you have just sat and eaten 4 sausage and chip sandwiches for supper I don't really think you have the right to scrutinize me for eating an extra 2 mouthfuls of pasta!

I couldn't make him do that. I've got to say though this first tour seriously must be the hardest! I think I could actually just cry today and for the next 60 days!!! Xxx

Well no, me neither. She married a sailor- when he was no longer a sailor he didn't know what to do with himself, he became this lost soul. Ended up with a crap job (well, crap compared to sailing the high seas!) and the pair of them couldn't stand being in each others pockets all the time. It was as hard as when he was in the navy!

You'll hear from him soon Bev, let us know when it is xx

Thinking of you Bev.........can't begin to imagine what you must be going through. Is always worse for the person just waiting at home and he probably is so busy that he just doesn't realise how many days have passed. xxxxxxx

Yeah I know what you mean. I just think that because they know theyre ok they forget about us at home worrying. My ex got stationed in Cyprus for two years too and until he got a mobile he once went two and half week without ringing....even though he passed about ten phone boxes a day!! I wrote him a letter calling.him every name under the sun and stuck a cypriot fiver in it so he had no excuse!! Lol xxx

To everyone on Facebook posting pictures of the snow.

Go away! All we've had is rain! You all say Wales is cold well guess what its 8 degrees here right now without a flake in sight its so unfair I want snow so stop rubbing it in!

Probably because until recently heavy snow was rare in England and Wales. If we lived in Canada I'm sure we wouldn't bother as it is the norm.

I do not understand why people *like* the stuff!! Or why they suddenly can't make it to work!

I travel back and forth ALL day with my job, often as far as Liverpool- Sheffield then back again. I've never not made an appointment because of snow, so why people can't make it to an office around the corner is beyond me. Get a grip!! My mum is from Norway- now that's snow, often 6ft of it at a time.

If it snowed here by Wednesday I wouldn't go into work A. Because its country lanes that can kill you on a nice day never mind ice or snow and B. Because im pregnant so won't risk ny child's life for work. If I fell over I could miscarry - not worth it!

(my job takes me all around the isle of anglesey)

I dint understand why schools close now at the slightest fall of snow

I can't get over the number of snow threads tonight either

It's health and safety and insurance and sometimes its the fact that if the teachers don't leave then they won't get home.

My mum is a teacher and although she works and lives in the same town, some of the teachers travel from near snowdonia and the brecon area where the roads have to close because you will literally slide off the mountain.

But I do think the UK sees snow and panics, I travelled to work last year in the snow no problem. But like I said now I'm pregnant I wouldn't risk it and I don't think work would let me. If I was in the house in the same town as me I would go but next week I'm an hour away down a load of dirt tracks - we won't get snow anyway too much sea salt in the air!
