Sorry, I couldn't get online yesterday evening for some reason, and I didn't have time to use the computer before I went to work today either.

Thursday's steps: A ridiculous 6,844! I've noticed that when my diet falls to bits so does my activity levels. It's as if I can't be bothered exercising because my diet has gone to pot. I'm aiming to be back on the wagon tomorrow, but this is gonna be my lowest week for steps yet. Today's not much better - if actually better at all!!!

Well today I bet I get the lowest count on record!!!...Why? Because I have been out all day and yes, forgot to put my pedometer on!!!!:mad:

Oh well, I will definitely remember tommorow as I felt like :cry:when I realised earlier tonight:rolleyes:

It takes awhile to get into the habit of remembering to put it on in the morning...

what would count as a good amount of steps in a day/?

10,000 steps is equal to around 5 miles in distance and this is the recommended physical activity target per day that is advocated by health professionals...
 
i definetly dont think i do anywhere near that much!!


I find wearing a pedometer shows me exactly how much I am walking and shock horror it is very little really most days, but I am working on improving it and I do feel my fitness level coming back up.

I have read that it is estimated that an average person walks between 2,000 and 3,000 steps daily and I well believe those figures.
 
Hiya Janey! Good to see you back here. Fridays steps were great, and the other days beat mine hands down! Soon it will be spring and sumer and we can all do the extra walking we need too! Maybe.......

I'm in ironing and painting again today. Plus being mums taxi inbetween! So todays steps won't be brilliant either! Tomorrow I should be up athe allotment. Not many steps, but labour intensive!

Yesterday was only 7,822 despite a walk down to the football club and back up! I did work yesterday though so I was chained to my desk until 10am from 6am.

I think I was starting to see this as a competition rather than actually wanting to go out to walk and it had a negative effect on me where I started to refuse to go out. That's bad but I confess!! I need to do this for myself and not anyone else. If my steps are lower than everyone elses than that is no big deal. I'm doing Beyond Chocolate and we're only meant to exercise if we enjoy it and I was starting to resent my pedometer.

So I am back posting my steps but they are just a record of what I do on a daily basis now and I do not want the crown!! :D

Janey, you deserve the crown because of what you just wrote. Yes you did some amazing steps, that was some walking that you did, but being honest with yourself is so much more. Wish I could walk some more really, cos I know I just don't move myself enough. I have high hopes for the summer but we shall see!

Today I am not setting foot outside my front door so I shall be surprised if I achieve over 2,000 steps pottering around to be honest. Hopefully I will go out tomorrow but I have been out walking or at work or out shopping every day since last Sunday and I just want a day to stay in and veg out front of the tv catching up on all my programmes on Sky+!
 
Hi Janey, I once said "it's not a competition with each other, but a competition with yourself" so the only person you have to worry about is yourself! If you feel like it, get out there and walk, if you don't - you don't have to! BUT I am sure I speak on behalf of everyone, we like having you around on the board (see how soon you were missed!!!!!) and I miss your lovely photos too

Thanks so much, it really means a lot! I even felt in competition with my husband who also got a pedometer and when he came home from work and had done thousands more steps than me it made me feel really grim about myself! Last week even though the sun was shining I didn't walk down by the sea. I think I do put a lot of pressure on myself and I am hopeless if I think I am competing with anyone!

I feel much better for being honest! Thank you girls. :):):)
 
2765 STEPS.....again not brilliant, but it could be worse! :break_diet:
Tomorrow is a walky around town and then the dog:chores016:So that should be better. I really should do more, cos it really does help!:scale: Got to the allotment, but one of my fellow allotmenteers had an accident there so my time was taken up with that. Good job I don't mind blood! That and the ground too hard, the weeds too few so I didn't stay long after that.:( The warmer weather will help. I have a cooker and stock of soup in my shed so I'm OK! I also have a pee bucket which helps with the compost.........Just need a lock on the inside of the shed!
