JanD's New Year, New Start, Maintenance Diary

You may well be right - which may well be why I've never owned a pair!! LOL! xx

Och don't be daft! The nicest pair of shorts I've got (a fitted size 14 I might add) were from Next - I'd have tried there anyway! ;):) xx

Jan, the Jeans I am wearing tonight, are waist high boot-leg jeans from Asda. I bought them about a year and a half ago, size 12 and they are one of the nicest jeans I have.

I didn't see any I liked in Asda. I don't like the plain colour ones. I like shades & fadey bits iykwim. I'll have a look round on Thursday & stop being such a wally! xx

Well done on the 1lb Jan

Don't stress about the jeans......one of the reasons that I'm so happy is that my old jeans from 1997 fit again, it was sooooo stressful buying them that I can't imagine doing it again:eek:

Ah well maybe it's not just me then ;) ... I'll look again this week but if I have no luck I'll continue with my 'I've never owned a pair of jeans' ... only now I'll remember why!!! xx

Jan, well done on the pound loss this week. As you say, it is good to be losing yet able to eat and drink pretty much what you like. So, all in all, it is a great result for you. If you continue at that rate you will be in great shape for your trip.
The jeans shopping sounded traumatic. As everyone else has said, it can take a bit of work to find a brand, style and size that suits you. I like Betty Barclay jeans as they fit snugly on my waist, accommodate my hips and make me look a size smaller!!! I even bought two pairs the same a few weeks ago so as to have one spare in case the others get ruined! How sad is that? But my view is that when you find one that suits stick with it!! Good luck for the next shopping trip, you will come across something lovely when you least expect it.

Thanks Molly - I hope so!!! Haven't heard of those, I'll keep an eye out ;) xx

Well done on the loss Jan xxx

Pity about the jeans though I love jeans.........I only wearing skinny jeans or baggy boyfriend jeans.......used to weat bootcut but dont think they suit my shape anymore.

Sometimes you need to try on a hundred pairs just to find that special pair x

Sorry about that lol :)

Honestly though finding the right pair is worth it, I have that special pair that I just love so much, I love wearing them :)

I thought it was standard to own 2 pairs the same if they fit perfectly! Or is that just me?! Lol x

100 pairs??????!!!!!! AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! ;) LOL!

I like the look of the boyfriend ones but they're too low on the waist for me.

I may get myself over to Liverpool on Thursday & steel myself for LOADS being awful before I find the 'right' ones - if, indeed, they exist :p

Pmsl ... 100 pairs, sounds about right! And double yeah to getting more than 1 pair when found. Bit bad for that with tops swell... Lol

Can anyone else, not Tanya or Emma of course, remember wearing jeans in the 70's that were so tight that you had to lie on the floor, put a coat hanger in the zip and get someone else to zip them up for you? Or wear them in the bath so they shrank really tight! Can't remember how we used to go for a pee.......

I think I'd prefer elasticated waists these days eh Jan;)

Certainly not me - as I say I've never owned a pair ... I remember people talking about doing that though. My mother took me clothes shopping in Evans from when I was about 12 or 13 and in those days they weren't a BIT fashionable! Hence all the elastic! xx

Yeah I remember doing that in early 80s - the bath bit!

The coathanger thing continued into my late teens (late 80s) - In fact, weirdly enough, me and a friend were talking bout that the other day - we were flat mates then and used to help each other with the hangers pmsl.

My favourite was the jeans in the bucket of bleach trick for patchy punky fade tho (late 70s early 80s) - I'm often still tempted to do that...

Why not? xx
