MWWWD (or Moonwatcher's Weight Watchers Diary!)

Not ignoring you ladies! Just got back in after a very long, but fun, day. Will try and update/catch up tomorrow sometime. Night-night.

Glad to hear u had a fun day :) Looking forward to reading your update. X

Glad all the tests went pretty well the other day. Its a shame you have to wait for the final test results to come back but certainly sounds like everything else is looking quite positive so fingers crossed.

I admire your pizza restraint - very very impressive to stop at half a pizza indeed!

I didn't know pizzas came in halves ROFL!

Moonwatcher you really seem to have got your Mojo back, the diets that suit you best seem to be the ones theat push your fab cooking skills to the limits, you work wonders with your recipes xx

I amazed myself with my pizza restraint actually! Really want to be back in the 14s before I go back to work though. I seem to have been messing around in the 14s and 15s for ever. Now I seem to have my mojo back, I need to make the most of it!

Serena - the plums are from a tree in our garden. Very yummy and in plentiful supply at the moment. We'll probably finish picking them at the weekend, so I'll be freezing, eating and cooking them! IBS is a pain in more ways than one isn't it? I have to watch fruit and and veg too -no fruit on an empty stomach, and avoiding certain mixtures of fruit and veg too close together.

So, update for yesterday, Wednesday 21st August

It's Cromer Carnival week and yesterday was main Carnival day, so we packed up the van with the kettle and burner, pizza slices, gluten free cake, seats and a table and off we went. No free parking spaces by the time we got there (10.00am), so we paid for a day's parking, but that was in the same field as the fair and the parade assembly point etc., So that worked out well in the end. This was about half a mile out of town, so we could walk back and forth as we wanted. Lovely day - 2 air displays with ex Red Arrow pilots, and world class aerobatics, free fall parachuting, dog displays etc. All great fun and the weather was fantastic. I got sunburnt unfortunately, so it's long sleeves for me today! We fitted in a meal overlooking the beach, a sit and a read on the pier, a picnic back at the carnival field, the carnival parade itself and a night time visit to the fair, plus a couple of hours walking! So here it is...

Breakfast - none as was packing to go and planned quite a few points later, so just had tea and coffee (3PP for cream and milk)

Lunch - yummy meal on the cafe balcony, overlooking the beach and pier - salad of griddled chicken breast, shaving of Norfolk dapple cheese, olive tapenade, caeser salad dressing and toasted pumpkin seeds, diet coke (9PP)

'Dinner' - picnic of two pieces of leftover pizza (8PP as I left some), small piece of gluten free lemon cake (4PP), plums and grapes

Snacks - mid afternoon tea shop visit - piece of gluten free coffee cake (8PP) with a pot of rose pouchong tea (1PP for milk)

Other drinks - water, diet coke, 1PP for more tea with picnic

Totals 34PP, 29 dailies and 5 weeklies. Weeklies remaining 12. APs today - 2 hours of walking - not particularly fast - 8APs. APs earned so far this week - 42

Really happy with those points. Got back home and put a small lamb joint in the slow cooker to cook overnight, to take with gluten free wrap, mint sauce and low fat mayo, cherry toms, cucumber, gherkins, beetroot, gluten free coffee cake, plums and grapes for today's picnic. Had Greek yogurt and maple syrup for breakfast. Back to the coast in about half an hour. (Long sleeves on!) Have a good day everyone!

Yes, you're right there LW. I am happiest when I can cook my way through my points. I think WW is the way to go for me, certainly at the moment.

Hey Sweetie :)

What fantastic choices you made yesterday! I'm loving the sound of both Cakes, did you have a favourite? I love the sound of your Wraps, I really should get more adventurous with Wraps but always just use them for Pizzas! Hope u enjoy your day :) The weather is so grotty here! X PS-WW is definitely for me too! X

Wow what an action packed week! All you food always sounds amazing and I'm green with envy at the meal out at the pasta/pizza place

Cromer carnival sounds really fun! You're showing extreme restraint and control at the moment, really impressive stuff. Hope you have a good result on the scales tomorrow to reward you for it all.

The coffee cake from the tea shop was definitely the best. The lemon one was a bit dry - it was one of two different flavours I bought from a local cake shop earlier in the week, ready for picnics, but most of it has ended up in the freezer to be used later for a trifle base and maybe a tiramisu base!

I love a good tea shop :) My cake of choice is always Victoria Sandwich mmmmmm! X

Update for yesterday. Been out and about so much had hardly any time for Minis, but have been tracking...

Thursday 22nd August (at Cromer for their Carnival finale afternoon and evening) Took all our food with us.

Breakfast - Greek yogurt with a little maple syrup (5PP)

Lunch - picnic on the cliff top in the afternoon - lamb wrap with low fat mayo, mint sauce, cherry tomatoes and gherkins, plums and cherries (14PP) seems quite high, but the lamb is a relatively high point meat and the gluten free wrap is 6PP. Followed by one Mrs Crimble's mini chocolate macaroon (2PP)

'Dinner' - also on the cliff top, just before the evening illuminated procession and the fireworks started - 2 small chicken drumsticks (skin removed), half ounce of hummus lemon and chilli crisps, two tiny squares of a lemon and a coffee gluten free sponges, but they were not very nice, so easy to resist any more! (9PP)

Snack - 50g Cadbury chocolate (7PP)

Drinks - diet coke and diet lemon and lime water, plain water

Managed to resist all the food of the fair - including crispy duck pancakes, Cornish pasties, doughnuts... actually all the food was wheat based, so again, quite easy to resist.

Total 37PP, 29 dailies, 8 weeklies. Weeklies remaining 4. APs 4 for walking. Total APs so far this week - 46

Today, Friday 23rd August

Breakfast - greek yogurt and maple syrup (5PP)

Lunch - an all day breakfast by the sea - 2 small rashers of bacon, scrambled eggs, tomato and baked beans, small cappuccino (10pp) Am really cross with myself, because I just didn't think about the fact that some beans have wheat in the sauce, until after I had eaten some.I can't believe that I just didn't think about it - I have been being so careful. Anyway, it looks like there was wheat in them, as I have had stomach pain all afternoon and my stomach is as hard as a rock - also got an incredibly sore tongue and very tired and ache all over. Quite grumpy about it, as feel really bloated now after having had a good week, and it is WI tomorrow, but there is nothing I can do about it now!

We were going to go for a long walk along the beach, but felt so rough we only managed an hour. Went to a photographic, art and sculpture exhibition too, then a bit later had a late 'afternoon tea' picnic ...

4 buckwheat crispbread with houmous, tomato salsa, tomatoes, gherkins, one ounce of cheddar, a slice of chorizo, a handful of lemon and chilli houmous crisps, strawberries with a little cream, cherries and a gin and slimline tonic (17PP)

Other drinks - milk in two teas (1PP), water, diet lemon and lime water

Total 33PP, 29 dailies and my last 4 weeklies. APs earned today - 4, making my weekly total 50, all from walking.

Fingers crossed for WI tomorrow.

Another Fab Day :) Good Luck for WI! X

Sorry to hear about the baked beans. Hopefully it wont have too much of an impact on WI. I'm glad you had a good time at the festival!

It's really annoying that for the test you have to eat wheat. It's the same to be tested for lactose intolerance (which I am positive I have). I did manage to re-introduce milk for a while in order to have the test done, but the hospital messed it up and so I didn't get any results. Then when the GP said they would re-do it I declined as by then I'd been off the milk for quite a long time and I knew that re-introducing it would wreak havoc. I've had a few 'slips' since and the pain is horrendous and so is the subsequent toilet trips.

How did WI go? I've got my fingers crossed for you. If the result isn't what you were hoping for you know you have had a good week and its the beans playing tricks with your body so hopefully it will show next week.

Well, b***** typical. I have gained - today's WI is 15st, 3.4lbs. Up 0.8 of a pound since last week, but because I weigh occasionally during the week I know that as of yesterday morning I was online for a loss of one or two pounds. Very frustrating, although I wasn't surprised, as my stomach has puffed up again and the symptoms are back. Probably for three or four days now. Grrrrh! At least I do know why, and that today isn't a true reflection of the week, but it has still put me in a bit of a grump.

Sarah - yes I feel the same about the testing. Since cutting the wheat out I now react more severely, so six weeks of eating it daily would be hell. I feel the same as you about your reaction to lactose - I know it affects me, so why go through all that to get something confirmed. The only thing with non diagnosis for me is that I don't know whether I am coeliac, or what they call 'non coeliac gluten intolerant' but the 'treatment' is the same in that you have to give it up! There are some other health implications for coeliacs, to do with vitamin absorption, because of the potential damage to the digestive system, but I can read up on them.

So, it's carry on regardless for another week. Not so easy without a nice scale result, but no other options. Just about to go out to collect a heated towel rail (free from Freegle) and then will get something to eat. Gf toast with lavender cheese and honey so far today. Feeling too sulky to cook!

Keep your chin up Sweetie, I'm sure it's not a 'real' gain and you'll see a good loss next week. X PS-Lucky you with your heated towel rail, id love one of those!!! X
