Red Riding Hood diary take two - deliver the picnic basket don't eat it!

Thanks Pommette - I'm sorry your visit was so soggy - but did you enjoy it anyway? Whereabouts did you go?
We stayed with friends in Cheshire for Ian's surprise 70th birthday party.
5 day visit down to the bottom end of Cornwall so see the MIL.
Then one night with my mum before we came home - she's coming here again in a few weeks so we only ever pop in to say Hi to her.
Oh and a visit to Liverpool to get hubs a new passport.

Some of the visit was enjoyable but not the 14 hours you have to spend in a car to get to Corwall & back!
Weather was pants too apart from one day in Cornwall and the actual party day - which was a relief as we were in a tent in the garden!

Donna lentils are really nice. I love them. Green lentils are great in curries, as are red lentils. I like to mix green ones with extra lean mince and veggies to bulk it up and add loads. Try them - go on. They are a really cheap alternative to meat. I used them a lot when I did my degrees (and was very poor).
OK - am going to make the Egyptian Lentil curry that Charley is ramming down my throat at the end of the month
weigh in day today!!
I lost ..... 5lbs!!! Great result, I'm very pleased. :bliss:

So I'm glad I didn't succumb to the cookies, even though they smelled nice. I just hope I can do ok on Sunday at the christening I'm going to - also the inlaws house. I'm going to use syns today but keep them pretty low for the rest of the week just in case - although I fully intend to stay strictly on plan.

Charley I'm going to look for that recipe sounds right up my street.

I might not be on as much this week - so if I don't do enough diary visiting, forgive me. It's the week before the exams and I am very, very busy. I promise I'll make up for it when I haver less work.

and on that note.... I must go and do some work.
WELL DONE - THAT'S ABSOLUTELY SENSATIONAL :flowers:

Don't feel bad - I can't get on the boards Tues-Thurs due to work and family life

Enjoy the Christening x and well done on ignoring the cookies!

Thank you Donna - I should have time on Thursday.

As for the Christening - it was lovely and the baby is so super-cute. I saved up all these syns and then had... a plate of undressed salad and ham with all the fat removed (by me) and no alcohol erm, so no syns and called it a red day. So I've had low syns all week for no reason *irritated* :D. Nevermind though, better than going mad.

Good luck with you're exams! i'm in the middle of them now, know how you feel! you're food diary looks good, makes me want to make soup!! x

Ah it's my students who are doing the exams Emoo but I feel super nervous for them all. I've got some returners next year for the next level but 3 of my favourite girls are away this year and I feel really sad. You get quite close to them.

Anyway Emoo - you're subjects sound fascinating and I wish you lots of luck for your exams, I know how stressful this period it for you x

Pommette - yes they are all a bit anxious, I feel it for them too. Just this final push of work and then a break (and a bit of poverty!!) I'm supposed to be having a friend round for some wine on Friday to catch up as I've been so busy, so I expect a few wine-syns that night.

Donna - lovely to see you - will catch up at the end of the week x

Blumin' 'eck. That's 12 lbs in 3 weeks. Way to go chica.

I've been thinking of chastising you for not having enough syns but I can hardly do that when you losses are so brilliant!

No, you know what I haven't been having enough syns, there will be nothing to cut down when weight loss is more difficult. Anyway syns make it all more bearable. I have just been so busy I've not been thinking about it properly. I can assure you Pommette I'll be having syns - got a friend round on Friday for wine so I'm kind of saving syns for that a bit as I'm sure I'll go over 15 then!! ;)

It's a good start for losses but I know they will get smaller and more gradual and that will be good too. It's a nice kick-start when I have so much to lose.

Ok back to work now. :)

Hello everyone

I've got Thursday, Friday and part of Saturday's diary here. The exams went ok, seen the papers (the kids brought them round afterwards and told me what they had answered) got lots of flowers and cards and some Green and Blacks chocolates - the mini bars so they can be synned quite well. Had my friend over last night and it was lovely to catch up. Despite having crisps and nuts on the table, I had none of them (although plenty of wine!) I made 2 SW friendly dips - a salmon one based on the pate, and hummus and chopped up carrots and peppers and had cherry plum tomatoes with them. Yes, it was a lot of wine syns wasn't it? More than intended. Still it was nice and Donna I wasn't too bad as I was eating dip and veggies and blueberries as well as drinking.

I've had a very relaxing day today. OH took the kids out, oldest one was on a Beaver's parade for the Jubilee and there was a fair etc. So I made them a picnic, gave them money for rides and turfed them out. So it was very peaceful here ;)

One of my student's mums just came by and brought me a beautiful plant (really gorgeous) and a lovely card. She (her daughter) was one of my little stars this year - advanced level and we worked on her dissertation. I've had her for two years so another one away this year too. I am actually working tomorrow though, I have one student and then some in June - getting ready for the folio element for next year (yes I work them hard :D - and send them away with summer work - I'm evil!)

Anyway here is the food for yesterday and today - the chicken yesterday was gorgeous - as was the kale. I couldn't find a recipe for the stuffing, so I made up my own! Spinach, quark, chopped chilli and garlic - it was fab. You may have noticed by now that I am VERY fond of spinach, I love the stuff.

Hey hun, here I am! Just replied to you on my thread- thanks for popping by!!

In addition what I've already said, well done again on your fantastic 12lb in 3 weeks loss! You must feel a real boost having had such a head start- you've really broken the back of it and all you need to do now is carry on like you are and even if the rate does slow down a bit you're still WELL on track and doing all the right things! Your food looks gorgeous and plentiful and this is definitely the key to unlock the door to slimdom (how cheesy am I lol....)

Glad all the exams went well and it must be overwhelming to receive such gratitude from the students and their parents!! It just shows how much they think of you and how much you're helping people to build their futures! XXX
