Lisa they haven't been to dig the trench yet. The water seems to be coming up under the cupboard round the sink and from under the loo, so I can only assume there's a blocked drain somewhere.

Hope they come to fix it soon because thats totally unacceptable. And Orby is a wee snugglebug. My man seems to have the same secret powers as orby, he always likes to curl up as soon as I start thinking I need to go to the loo! pmsl!

Progress!
It's the boiler, has been spewing hot water under the floorboards for two weeks - the guys lifted the laminate and steam came up, for goodness' sake. Didn't know I was living in a sauna!
So it's bye bye laminate and hello concrete - which is being drilled up as we speak (and OMG it's loud!) - but if it means a dry bathroom I'll be a happy bunny Amazingly, Orbs is being really calm about the drill noise!
Only problem I have now is that there are burly men in the bathroom and I need a wee....

Problem all sorted! There was a huge hole in the central heating pipework underneath the concrete, so that's fixed now and the guys will come back next week and re-concrete and lay new laminate.
The place is a tip now, with half the laminate gone, but cross fingers, by Christmas I should be in a nice clean dry and tidy flat!

Thanks guys I keep going in the bathroom and grinning - no more swimming to the loo at 3am
I emailed the landlord to say thanks and he said "Anything to make you happy" - awww how nice Things are looking good for the slimline dishwasher to be in place in January too
Am celebrating with a little red wine and finishing off some work.

Morning all
Late night - two friends popped round unexpectedly and we toasted Christmas...then the New Year...then everyone's birthdays for the last 20 years....ouch
Just waiting for a minicab to bring round two directors chairs that I got last night (on eBay, natch, £10, a bargain) and then mr Tesco and then...relax!

Had a lovely sleep in, only been up for half an hour
Not sure what the plan is today - probably slothing at home after a major clean up in the kitchen. Got all my cards to write (oops), so some of you may not get them until January - sorry about that. Also going to do my passport right of abode application, finally. Now that I know I've got the 11 month contract on the way, I can actually research holidays for Easter Also got 10 days on the French and Italian Rivieras in May, so there might be room for something else later in the year too - Morocco, maybe
