Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Afternoon, hope you are feeling better now, lots of sleep....

Hope you are still sleeping and not wide awake like me!!! Hope you will be feeling better today, hate being poorly :(

Afternoon all

Not much sleep here, alas, but I did read a book from beginning to end in the wee hours....nose is blocked but also won't stop running - but happily the cough has lifted, which is great 'cause I thought I was headed for a chest infection.

Staying in with the heating on today, not surprisingly :)

Hope you're all well.

Hi Susie, sorry to hear you are not well. Good idea to have a stay at home and snuggle orby day. Agree i hate the disturbed sleep that comes with colds - lots of naps required:D
Xxx

I hate that bunged up + running nose thing - I get that with every cold it seems.

Stay warm, drink lots of fluids and take care ...hope it eases very soon xxx

I suffer from allergies and have a prescription nasal sprat called nasonex it seems to really help with the nostril inflamation n keeps them open, when its a really bad cold i have to inhale steam to get breathing i cant bare being totally blocked xxhope you feel better soon xx

Thanks all for your kind thoughts, am feeling pretty rubbish right now - been drinking loads of fluids but that has an awkward *erm* side effect when it comes to the regular explosive sneezes! I have a 90 year old's bladder control, it would appear...

Whatever I've got seems to be resistant to most meds - even my beloved nasal spray is having no effect :(. Have finally resorted to taking some Benylin tablets I found in the cupboard, in the hope of getting more than two hours' sleep and maybe shifting the headache.

Did a sneaky WI this morning and I've put on a couple of pounds, probably due to the many honey and lemon drinks, and also I haven't been good with the veggies over the last couple of days, couldn't be bothered to cook anything - so tonight I had my fav sauteed cabbage and bacon bits with chilli, Alpro dream and some cheese - and gobbled the lot up.

Anyway, enough grumbling! Just think, come Tuesday I could have the job side of things all sorted out - which will be lovely (even if it is paying only marginally more than a shelf stacker!) :)

Fingers x for the job just noticed i suggested a nasal sprat for you, at least with a cold you might not smell the fish... Omg i must check before sending lol. Be careful of things like vicks nasal sprays etc they can cause rebound congestion, i got that once because of them. Absolutely miserable! Get well soon xx

Thx Tracy and lol re the sprat! -:)

Know what you mean about the sprays, you have to be quite careful - but I've been using the sudafed one every night for ages without a problem. Guess its just not up to dealing with a cold...

Sxx

Oh poor Susie. Yes it must be impossible to keep off the honey and lemon with a cold like that, where you just want it to go away. Veggies if you can though, just to keep your nutrition up! Your courgette soup or done chicken and ginger might be good around now if you can manage to make them.

I hope you're getting tons of sleep and feel at least a little better in the morning. Colds are miserable.

Thanks sweetie

Happy to report that the benylin and spray combo worked well and I managed to get about 6 hours' sleep on and off so think I might survive :D Feel a lot brighter today. which makes me a much happier bunny :) And now I'll stop whingeing about it which will make you all happy as well :D

And yes to the soup, am heading into the kitchen shortly to make some up now, then a much needed shower, then supervise deliveries from both Waitrose and Tesco (I just had to have the Waitrose 5g cabs peanut butter for my bark! lol).

So glad you're feeling a bit brighter today - better sleep definitely helps!

Sounds like you'll be having fun with your deliveries - my delivery from Sainsbury's turned up an hour early yesterday...didn't even have my "face" on at the time  I managed to smear on a bit of cover-up while he was getting the boxes but I still must have looked a fright - serves him right for surprising me, though :p

So sorry you've been so poorly Susie sweetie ! Hope you feel all bright and shiny for tomorrow! Big day ! Am still miffed that you're having to go through the recruitment process! Ridiculous !

Anyway, I've got a packet of Dreamies that I'm not leaving here as they don't like giving the cat treats so could I send them to you for Orbie? There's also something else that I can't remember the name of but it would be pointless leaving for them to give the one eyed bundle of joy as they wouldn't ?

Hope you get lots of rest and sleep today and an early night!

What time's the interview? Hugs xx

Afternoon glad to see you are feeling a bit better.....I love slopping around in old clothes, especially on a cold wet day....good luck tomorrow.

Thanks so much for the Dreamies offer, Di, that's really kind of you - hopefully we can organise our meet up soon, rather than you sending them?

The interview's at 4pm, so all done by 5pm. They are interviewing me plus two others, hopefully all tomorrow, so I won't have long to wait to hear! I know I have the best chance but boss let slip that one of them is from the BBC, so I really have to prepare myself in case I don't get it...

Starting to fade again. Wish the groceries were here, I'd love to go and crash out again.

They will have to hire you otherwise we storm the building!!

Have everything crossed for you Susie! Hugs xxx

Thanks lovelies!

Righto I've taken my Vit C and zinc, echinacea and mucus cough balsam (tasted just like the old fashioned ones, brilliant) and am off to bed with a book or two, followed by sleep, if I'm lucky :)

FYI Orbit has an interesting new sleeping position - she's curled up on a large packet of toilet rolls by the loo :) Must like the plastic wrapping or something?

Sxxx
