Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Those fairy cakes are fantastic aren't they. Must admit I usually do as you have and just do the one big one now (when my menu says almond micro cake, that's what I'm having) but I've stretched the sane recipe into 4 or 5 fairy cakes simply by adding alpro milk. Because they're smaller you can have a wetter mix and it will still cook through. Honestly I prefer doing it as one now.

I've also done them in the over but I think they come out lighter from the micro and it's so simple.

I had almond bread this evening for the first time in a while - pretty much the same recipe with no sweetener or flavoring - add a wee pinch of salt and a bit of dried Parmesan or some garlic and herbs to the mix if you like. Makes a better sandwich than it does toast - gets a bit more nutty toasted and really nothing without gluten will crisp quite the way toast does - but a very good white bread sub.

i am so looking forward to all the almond flour recipes i have yet to try, i loved the king cake!!

LOL yep that's easy to do :)

Another plan for the new flat is to get an under counter freezer so I can make more stuff like the courgette soup up, so I don't waste stuff.

Well, afternoon all...bit of a sore head today after drinks at the neighbour's place for Bonfire Night, got in just before the rain! :)

I'm not going completely teetotal, just Monday-Friday :D

And it will probably be the last time I get to socialise with those neighbours before I move.

Mon to Fri abstinence is good. To be honest I can justify anything I want to, and I think you most certainly did need to celebrate with your neighbors. Indeed, it could have been seen as rude not to!!

Cake look amazing Susie, thanks for it ML. Is this the um very active neighbor with the fireworks? Just catching up with the radio 4 extra gothic imagination series, you'd love it Susie if you've not already heard it, listening to The Winter House :)

Morning, I hope you had a great weekend....cake looks lovely....lemon curd would be a nice topping also.

Hangover is gone. Sadly, so is my resolve....

I am just not feeling at all focused, and think it might need drastic (as in VLCD) action to get me going again. I've ordered a week's S&S which I know I did terribly with last time but having been able to sensibly survive the DDs of JUDDD, think it will be fine this time around. So will have four packs a day plus my beloved courgette soup (instead of their one) and see how I get on.

I was an abject failure, Val - couldn't even survive one day! I felt freezing cold and really miserable - but the coldness (now I've read up on it a bit more) is to do with the sudden huge drop in calories.

I'm a lot more prepared for it this time, with soup to keep me going and warm me up - plus I will have a low carb 100g protein/200g veg with the evening pack. There's not much at all in the packs (as you would imagine) but I've been lurking in the Minis forum and people tend to use them like sauces - so the macaroni and cheese gets things like mushroom and leek added to it; and the curry becomes a sauce for chicken curry with cauli rice. Can add miracle noodles too.

Oh best of luck with the s&s......lots of peeps are moving to vlcd at the moment so you will have lots of support from this forum.....keep posting and we will all encourage you.
