Hahahaha don't talk to me about cleaning - I've just spent an hour scrubbing my bathroom because my mum is bringing little one home from school tomorrow while we are at the hospital and she has a thing about cleaning my house when I'm not here.

I do clean regularly by the way lol - just not obviously up to mothers standards lol

Not a very happy girl today, got some bad news about my beloved uncle this morning so may have to fly off home in a hurry. Will let you know more as I hear.

On the plus side, I've now been a non smoker for a week.

Evening all - and thanks so much to you all for your positive thoughts. The news is a bit better, but my aunt is on her way to Singapore now and we'll know more tomorrow.

But it's a complete fail from me on the ciggy and wine front, it just all got too much today, been in tears most of the afternoon - so have had two cigs and two vinos. I'm just going to get through this crisis - which isn't over yet - and then start again. If I can do 8 days this time I can do 16 next time, or more. Being a long way away, and having older relatives, means there will be more crunch points, so I need to learn some alternative techniques for coping. A nice bath doesn't cut it at times like this.

Morning lovely. Sorry I didn't reply Friday night but I had descended into the vino myself and didn't hear the phone! Don't worry cos you know you'll get back on track. Just deal with one drama at a time. A friend if mine said last week he didn't go out to buy cigs a year ago because it was raining and a year on it was still raining and he still couldn't be bothered to go buy them but he hadn't given up anything. Good attitude I think! How's your uncle now?
better get on with things here. Got a clothes mountain to be put away whilst my Nice n Easy is returning me to the blonde bombshell xx

Morning all

Sorry for the radio silence, it has been a really emotional few days. We nearly lost him on Saturday, but he fought back and is now starting to respond to treatment. He has cirrhosis of the liver, as well as some nasty jungle virus that caused his other organs to fail temporarily, so he will be in hospital for some time yet.

Thanks for all your kind words, as always! I was talking to a mate about it yesterday - he;'s usually quite a hard task master with me, but on the ciggy front he said it took him about 8 goes before he finally gave up. He says I should not worry about it for a month until my uncle gets better - but i decided to do the Allen Carr "This is my last cigarette" with the last one in the pack yesterday morning and see how I go.

Anyhoo, back to our regular weight loss programme . I was supposed to do WI this morning but forgot all about it, so am going to shift it to Friday, and will try and lay off the biscuits this week!

Having a good evening actually - the new curtains are up (the white linen looks gorgeous, now just have to get Orbit to stop climbing up it!); my new (to me) wardrobe and bookshelves from an eBay seller got delivered tonight and will go up next week hopefully; and I managed to get a few more things for sale or giveaway on eBay and Freecycle, so maybe by Easter the place will be a lot more decluttered, and clothes and books sorted out I always feel more comfortable and able to deal with things when I have a good clean out!
