Tanya's Refeed Diary!! ~* Back On TFR *~

Thanks mich - i think im same then aslong as i stay off them i will be fine. It's telling myself i now cant have my 'carb day' lol

not practical at all irish enless i eat cold scrambled egg - in which case i might aswell just have a boiled egg lol

How about 1 boiled egg and couple slices of ham for a brekkie?

Have you tried a Smoothie! Really filling, full of vitamins, etc....you could make it up, take it with you and keep it in the fridge (if you have one at work)!

I think you need a bit of variety, or you will start getting fed up! I know I do.

One thing I like, again, you can make it up and take it with you, but, it is kinda carbs and depends if you like porridge oats.

Some oats (decent ones, not cheapy ones)
Grate an apple, let the juices soak into the oats, have some bleuberries/raspberries (any berries really), then top with natural yoghurt. You can put this in a container and take to work.
It is a bit gungky (if that is a word), but oats is a low GI and will keep you fuller for longer.
I found a good site whilst I was searching the forum, and one was on Low GI, which is good....maybe search the forum and see if you can find something.

I think you are like me ALL OR NOTHING! Gotta learn to be more balanced :) Me included!

I am sure you will be fine, you are just worrying because the shakes arent there like they were.

ooooh yer - never thought of fruit!

Hows about a banana and a lf yogurt? Now that i can have in one of my breaks and a banana would fill me up with energy for a while right?

So some mornings fruit, some mornings boiled eggs?

hows about atkins bars?!!

Now would a banana and a lf yogurt fill you up? Would a boiled egg fill you up? Within an hour you would be reaching for something and feeling so hungry that you would be reaching for anything.

You need to start eating 3 sensible meals a day with NO snacking in between and if you are genuinely hungry in between, have some fruit.

I would recommend you follow the same sort of diet that I do, although I dont call it a diet now as I am maintaining, but you could still easily lose 2lb a week on the core diet as this is what I did pre-lt.

Its 3 meals a day with fruit or veg as snacks if you are genuinely hungry. There is a list of free food which you can have for your 3 meals every day and eat until you are full up. No counting calories or carbs, because everything is good in the free food list.

I can send you some details if you are intersted Tanya, but I agree with what the others are saying. It sounds like you are depending on the shakes and although LT is super, its not something that should be used as a crutch, but merely as a quick fix to lose the weight then normal healthy eating must take place.

Consider this your whoooooooppppaassss girl.

Big hugs to you as I know you are such a strong willed determined young lady that I hate to see you doing this to yourself. Look at the times you have supported Yasmine ( I know completely different circumstances ) in her ups and downs. You have so much common sense, but all you need to do now is find what is the right eating lifestyle for you.

ooooh yes please mary can you send me the info?

I am clinging onto LT because lets face it i've been having the shakes now for 6 months and they are 'normal' to me and a comfort. I really dont want to leave them because if i do i fear putting on weight and then when i go back to the chemist to start again in september i think they are going to look down on me cuz i have put on weight.

Im so determined not to i think at times i am my own worst enemy :(

Tanya I understand where you are coming from, but you know yourself that you cant just depend on going back on TFR in September to lose weight and in the meantime, even though you have some celebrations coming up, you need to stick to a balanced diet.

Anyway - I wont nag you no more.......lol.

Here is the link to the complete no count list of foods. You can choose freely from these foods to make 3 balanced meals every day. No counting carbs, no counting calories, no counting anything, just a sensible approach and eat until you are full up, but not stuffed. Only 3 meals a day and only snack on fruit or vegetables in between meals if you are genuinely hungry. Its more like a healthy eating lifestyle plan than a diet - and it works. I lost a lot of weight on this pre LT.

Thankyou Mary - sometimes i need nagging! I cant see past my nose sometimes!

I know i cant depend on LT but between now and when i go back on i dont want to put on weight, i dont ever wana put on weight again. It's such a scary thing. Pre LT i wouldnt give two s**ts about scoffing and binging and getting fatter by the day now i constantly worry about it. I mean my meals, i eat enough, i eat untill i am full and thats it on good days, but my bad day is very bad :sigh:

Will have a goose at that link this evening thankyou :)

The only way you wont put weight back on Tanya is to eat sensibly and stop binging. We all have our little binges, but as long as you are cutting down the next day or so we can have no ill effects on the scales.

Only you can do this hun, I can nag you 24 hours a day until the cows come home, but you know yourself that you need to be stronger. Just think back to Tanya pre LT everytime you want to eat something that is too high in fat or carbs and think, 'do I really want to be that Tanya again' or 'do I want to be the new slim Tanya who has worked extemely hard for the last 6 months to lose this weight'.

You just need to find that trigger that keeps you on the straight and narrow. The list I have sent is really good once you get used to what you can and cant eat. If you have a look later and decide to follow it, just write up a menu for the week and post it and I can check it out for you, just like you did before refeed.

You can do it girl - big hugs xxx

Ok thanks mary - i will be off shakes from monday  so i will have a goose when i get back then write one up for you to check if thats ok :) x

I had a great diet before a few years ago, lost loads on it and it was a mix of food, you eat maybe two portions of carbs, protien and certain veg... cant remember which veg exactly was good and what was bad but will check back on my folder i had... this diet actually put you in to ketosis too... you would have protien sachets too, like protien porraige and it was yum.... they were like a fiver for a pack of 7 or something like that... and you mixed that with the normal food, i will read up on the folder i had back then and let you know..

ok thanks nm :)

hi a friend of my husbands who is a nutritionest told me when i come of the lt that tesco do a cheap protein shake i think it was soya based maybe u could try 1 of those for your breakfast?

Hiya Tan! I don't feel qualified to give you any advice - I'm struggling to find my own levels at the moment. I'm another 'all or nothing' person I'm afraid. I just wanted to say I know how you feel and give you big ((((((hugs)))))) xxx

hmm am not sure nicolas - i think i need to get away from the comfort of shakes :S

Aww thanks Jan - hugs are always apreciated :) Im sure we can get there - may take a while, ups and downs but im sure we will be ok :)

Tuesday 29th July

So today has been a good day - i feel much more positive which can only be a good thing. I had a craving for softmints but resisted ... just thought NO i survived just over 5months without them i dont need them! :D

So today:

B - LT Shake

L - Salmon fillet and cooked vegetables & 1/2 can tinned toms

D - LT Shake

*5 slices cooked chicken (the sandwich stuff)
*2 small raw carrots

Also, went to the gym today! I am sooooooooooooooooooooo pleased with myself:

Calories burnt: 240

Bike - 10mins

Rower 10mins

Treadmill - i RAN yes ran!!! a whole mile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! absolutly no walking and i did it in 14mins 25secs. i beat my last weeks time by 2mins 35secs - go me!! (running on 7.5 then 8.5 last 0.10km)

I cant believe i ran constantly for 14mins 25secs - i just couldnt believe it! It has been a very looonnnnggg time since i ran and if i did it was for less than 10secs so today i am so thrilled with myself - ive shown to myself that i can do it! Sure i struggled when it got to about 10mins but i pushed through and did it. All i kept thinking of (sad i know) is the programme i love "The biggest loser AU" and thinking of their training sessions and their trainers really pushing em and i thought if they could do it so can i! :D

Yup, can i have my chufty badge now please?! :giggle:
