Taz's diary - Need to do this!

Liking the sounds of many small changes adding up to a new you !!

Operation trouser is underway !!

Well the snow came down thick and fast just in time to go out for physio last night! But it's come to nothing this morning so hopefully the electrician will turn up as planned this morning. Got a few things to do to clear the way for him, I will do that before breakfast and it's done then. I asked my physio last night if she could estimate a time limit for this damn knee to heal and she said there was extensive damage in my knee and it would be another 8-12 weeks til 'normality' resumes

I probably could but the main reason for ditching the spuds is that my doctor advised limiting carbs while I'm not so active and as I have either scrambled eggs on toast or porridge for breakfast I don't really need them so much later in the day

Your knee will take as long as it needs and, although I totally understand your need to get back to normality, you have to put your health firs. There is no reason why, given the right recovery period, you can get back to what passes for normal  for you x

Well, yes, my normal is very different from the normal normal!

Wow, what a busy day! Not necessarily for me but I'm pooped anyway! Electrician arrived at 9am and set to work. I was required to help seek out all the plug sockets and make them accessible. There was lots of testing so I was without TV or internet for much of the day. He didn't finish til gone half 6pm and I then had to get on with putting the place back together! The bed had to be moved back into place and bedroom stuff that's been stored in the lounge had to be taken back in. The place still looks like a bombs hit it but not such a severe one! I am hoping to get some more done tomorrow as tonight I feel like doing not much else. I have a load in the washing machine and a few more waiting, the washing up is done and so am I!

Hope you're getting some rest now Taz - you certainly looked tired tonight x

Yes I was a bit tired! It was more exhausting than I thought it would be to watch someone else working! I'm not doing much today, there is still a lot of work to do to put the lounge back together but that will have to wait for now. Tomorrow is painting day one. The first coat will be done tomorrow and we will be staying elsewhere tomorrow night so we aren't sleeping in paint fumes. Next Friday will be the same routine and hopefully that will be all the painting done then :D I desperately want some more storage boxes so I can do some more sorting out of the stuff that's still here but Mr Taz says to wait til the bedroom has been fitted. I told him I'm bored and need something to do and that's what I want to do. I will have to go and get them without him somehow!

In theory yes. But when I can drive again I could go back and do light duties. I'm trying not to overdo it but I can never find the line between doing naff all and doing too much!

You ARE doing too much at the moment Taz but I do understand why - just take it a little more easy x

Ok, ok I'm resting! Got the bedroom painted this morning, the second coat will be done next Friday. There are a few hard to reach bits that Mr Taz will do when he gets home later. The cold has returned with a vengence and it's really not nice so I feel a bit pants at the moment :(

I rested AFTER the painting :D stayed at a local Premier Inn last night and it was nice to be in a normal bedroom with... furniture! Had a lazy start with a nice big Premier breakfast before setting off on the 3 mile journey home :D Stopped off at Boots on the way to get some vitamins and cold relief stuff. While I was there I also picked up a 6 month supply of Glucosomine Sulphate which is supposed to be the best thing for poorly knees and the only known supplement to be beneficial in holding off osteoarthritis. It's worth a shot! Did a bit more painting when we got home but I left Mr Taz to do most of it as after 2 walls I was done in. I feel mean and lazy leaving it all to him, it's his day off and he needs to rest too!
