Busybusy's Route to 9.7

Atkins Week 1 Review:

I've lost -3lbs, not a huge loss but I'm happy with that. I truly thought I'd gain this week, been gorging all week due to being let loose on all this food, after exante. I also thought my metabolism may need a week or two to build up burning more than 600cals per day. Considering I been able to eat some lovely descent wholesome food, eat out and not worry about what can I have. The most positive thing is that I've been able to sit down, relax at family meal times. The children have actually been eating more greens another bonus.
It's not a difficult lifestyle change, not missed carbs at all.

Next Week:

Need to calm down with portion control as been going nuts. No calorie caontrol does not =eat till your sides are splitting Anila
More greens (was scared to lose K)
More Fluids (This definatley does help me to shed quicker)
Gonna try Jillian Micheals again (and not be a wimp)

Well done Busy that's great! Just to let you know I made the sag paneer yesterday, it was bloomin' gorgeous!!

Glad you liked it, x. Did you get the kashmiri spices? Where about are you from? I'm from nottingham but now live in cambridgshire.

Yes, I got packet of Kashmiri Masala spices, they gave a lovely aroma and flavour. I am in Wolverhampton west midlands, originally from Shropshire, lived in London ten years and here for 15! how time flies eh!

Ahh well done there all you'll need for any curry as they have everything and you dont have to mess with adding things seperatley. Woverhampton, that's great you'll have loads of asian shops there. Shropshire is soooooooo lovely I used to be a rep so travelled a lot. London I love southhall and edgware rd the arab food shops are lovely. I just love world foods.

Tip with the kashmiri spices you just have to keep stir frying adding a little water until they release an aroma and turn golden that's when they're ready.

Oooh those spices sound wonderful - wonder where in SE London I could get them?

Busy can you recommend anywhere online?

They are worth getting. I would say go to any pakistani/indian supermarket, probably Leyton/W'stow will def have them save you going round the houses. Unsure of online-sometimes the supermarkets in densley asian populated areas do stock such things.

Susie I will happily get you some and pop in the post if you can't get them, although I am sure you would find them in se London

No problem Susie, They only cost 79 p and I also got a 500ml jar of pure coconut oil for £1.99! What a bargain, they cost a fortune in health food shops!

The Kashmiri spices are Mangal , the brand of coconut oil is KTC, sorry busy for going off on a tangent on your thread :)

Nice one on the WI - coming off a VLCD that's a really good loss.

Oh well done Anila, thats really brilliant, I had a feeling you would still be down this week!! :bliss:

Great to know that coming off the VLCD doesn't need to mean piling the pounds back on. I am so looking forward to my steak on Thursday. Of course this means I am struggling now with only a few days left of the challenge my brain seems to be more hungry than it was at the start!! I will beat up my scales if they do not say 13 something on Thursday am.

Carry on girls, don't mind at all. They do actually rip you off when you go to supermarkets for what they call "world foods" and health shops are worse. I usually do 2shops one at supermarket and another in our asian shops. We'r halal on diet so I have to for meat anyway.

Afternoon Busy, well done, a 3lb loss going from Exante to Atkins is very very good xxx

Cheers Bren. Hope your having a chilling sunday, Northern Rock Chick ;)

I dont know how I lost really as I've been going nuts being let loose on food, could be due to going WS towards the end of exante. You'll be fine I know how hard you've worked, you'll be fine. And it's not all about the scales it about your shape and size and how you look and feel.
