Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Yeah, that feeling in the pit of your stomach means it's a biggie Susie. How I wish I could come with you and check it out. Do you then have to buy a boat to moor there too? Do you have any really good friend who could go with you to look and give a second opinion?

I stayed in a flat in canary wharf last year and was totally envious of the boats moored below them. Also in a totally selfish move, I so want to stay with you in your houseboat sometime, so I'm admitting a vested interest and can't be relied upon to be objective. ;)

Agree - i'll happily come and look:) i've always wanted to live on a houseboat so will not be entirely objective ;)

Clare, you can come and stay anytime honey - the hubby and kids might have to sleep outside though lol. Bring earplugs.

And thx for the offers, Katie and Lisa I may well need you, my heart rules everytime so you may have to be hard cop :)

And yes I do then need to find a boat, but that's almost the easy part, there are lots out there - and you do a survey, like a house, where it gets lifted out of the water and the hull and tanks properly checked. I want a cheapish boat though, so I can outfit it myself - none of that varnished wood from floor to ceiling for me, thanks - I'm thinking white walls and ceiling, dark laminate wood flooring, and not one painted flower to be seen :)

BTW it won't be a houseboat - the mooring is for a narrowboat, 60'x6'9" - not widebeam like me :)

I'd be staying with you sans famille lovey (in my head anyway). And I snore too, so we could do a duelling banjos type thing and loser gets the ear plugs! ;)

Now that's a duel I can deal with - and I can always make you stay up all night drinking with me while we put the world to rights...:)

Oh oh oh I need to do that very soon with you Susie. Forget the negatives and just buy, buy, buy! ;) (Warning - heart talking!)

(Or take Katie or Lisa with you and make a reasoned decision, that's my head talking there.)

In any case, I would just like to let it be known that I am a fantastic, tidy, and efficient painter, and ever so tall, so white walls and ceilings, even 60 feet of them, would not faze me one little bit. :D

LMAO - honey we do things called phones in the mean time :) I've been known to talk on the phone for 4 hours, be warned :)

BTW the beam (head room) is about 6-7' so you may have to stoop :) But thx for the Super HandyWoman offer - you may live to regret it lol

Morning Susie :)

Morning Susie:)

Afternoon peeps - and Jim, online on a weekend!

Busy day here again so far, but time to relax now :) Hope you're all having a good day.

Oh goodness Susie, a mooring!!! So exciting - shame it is only for a narrowboat as there is a double width one for sale near us and it is gorgeous outside, plain black paint with silver decking railings at the back - very very classy :) just like you hon xxx

oooh oooh ooh, exciting!!!

i just love the idea of living on a house boat, well, except for the 'where would i keep all my animals' bit!

Morning Susie, morning all

did someone mention ponies?

Evening Susie - how was today? Were you a good little Atkinser? Is work still as hectic? :D

Boo you. x
