LOL you'll have a blast! :D

Well it's now 3am I've been tossing and turning for awhile so thought I'd get up and tidy up/update my recipe book to make room for Smiley's creations :D Started handwriting a new recipe out, which is a bit of a chore for those of us too used to computers, then it occurred to me - duh - there's probably an online recipe book I could use instead. And there is! It's a site called Say Mmm (hope the mods don't mind me mentioning it, I have no affiliation with the site, promise! :))

What a fab site - free, and so easy to use. You type your recipes in, it makes up a shopping list and even better, you can categorise your recipes under Courses and Cuisines - and add more - so I've added in Low Carb and Slow Cooker categories. Because then you come home, thinking "I feel like something chickeny and low carb but I want something new" - go search under chicken and bingo, there's all your recipes with chicken in them. You can even tag recipes from other sites and move them in, add pics, etc etc.

Happy days - or nights, as it happens! :)

Morning suse tidying at 3am! Gosh your sleep patterns rough! Your hideaway on the coast sounds fab! London is a fun place to live but does have drawbacks just like anywhere really.

Blimey 3am!!! I couldn't even drag myself out of bed at 6 this morn!!

Oh that site Sounds fab!!! Sounds very handy xxx

Morning Susie

Love your post, we will be with you all the way, plenty of butt kicking and hugs when needed. You know this woe works and you can do it xx

Morning all

I got about 4 hours sleep but feel surprisingly chipper, hopefully the sleep will improve once I'm a bit further into low carb. In the past I never got the buzz of energy that most others reporter, either, so maybe I'll be lucky there too :D

Put lots of recipes into Say Mmm, it's so exciting, you can link it with FB friends and all sorts of things! :)

So who would like a more or less legible recipe book? There's no point in me keeping the handwritten one, but it does contain some gems, especially for newbies - how does these tickle your fancy?Pork cassoulet, cabbage gratin, moroccan chicken, feta beefburgers, bacon and egg muffins, tuna mornay (my own pitiful 'invention') - even low carb ice cream :D

Just yell out if you'd like it, otherwise it's going in the bin as part of my New Year life laundry programme!

Menu today - hmm, not at all hungry right now, but let's see

B/L - bacon and eggs
D - caramelised pork belly with apple stuff (the l/c one from Sainsburys) with cauli mash
Might even make a cheesecake for dessert....

Morning Susie:). Sounds like you have your head sorted - well done and I know you can do it xxx

Recipe site sounds good - how do I see your stuff online?

Morning hun and thanks :). I think I need to invite you - do you want to pm me your email and we can give it a go. I have been a busy bee, have now typed and linked in 85 recipes :D Apart from Minis, it's the best website I've ever used! Oh here's the link to the Share page so you can see how it works - http://www.saymmm.com/friendinvite.php

Hi Susie, thanks for that - i can see all your recipes now which is great. Will have a potter through:)

I can't be bothered to link all mine but you should see the link through to each section of my website so hopefulyl that works. Also i've discovered it links up to Evernote which is where i clip all my interesting recipes from the web so that's really helpful:)

Good find! Xx

Thx Katie

I really like some of your recipes (especially the oven bread!) so will clip them to mine if that's OK.

Well, I've made my cheeseburger pie for lunches for the next couple of days - and I am amazed, I've never made it exactly like the recipe before and I'm really pleased with it! I added cabbage as well, to use it up, and it smells great. Quite greasy, I cooked the mince in basil oil, but nothing a a kitchen towel can't fix! :D

Morning all

Back in the office today and oh what hard work it was to get up this morning! I only got to sleep at 4am and then managed to cut my toe badly on the shower edge - don't ask me how I did it but there was blood everywhere, ewww!

But I've managed to finally stagger in and all is well. A higher carb brekkie for me today, to see how it goes on the scales.

B - porridge, yoghurt, a nut and seed mixture, and a latte
L - cheeseburger pie and salad
D - the other half of the caramelised pork belly and steamed cabbage

Have a good day, all! xxx

Morning lovely. I was horrified when the alarm went off, hit snooze but it seemed to go off again far too quickly lol. Have a good day, it's been manic here since I came back!!

Morning, Susie!

So glad you've got your head back in the diet game - makes all the difference when your mind's in the right place.

What sort of carb level are you going for to begin with? From reading your diary this past year, I do think your worst enemy is boredom and that you're probably wise to keep things pretty flexible from the start. Having a few more food options has certainly helped me keep going with this for as long as I have.

Hope your first day back at work isn't too grim! xx

Afternoon Susie, the whole world's sleeping pattern seems to have gone rubbish, virtually every post on fb seems to be about lack of sleep - no fun is it :( xx
