Hey Susie soo!
All the hugs in the world - its great to see you back on track - and you'll be staying there this time, right
You're absolutely right that there are a myriad reasons you, I and everyone else stress or comfort eats - but you don't ever ever -have- to. It's always a choice and you can always choose to stay on plan despite your stresses.
Ultimately choosing to stay on plan is being nicer to yourself than any 'comfort' to be had in carby foods. By staying on plan you'll get thinner, healthier and happier. Comfort eating is a way of punishing ourselves really. You don't deserve to be punished.
Now this part is just my opinion - I think 40-50g daily carbs would be fine for you for the first few stone BUT if you do decide to do that and eat things like porridge then you need to track and plan very carefully. It's all too easy once you allow any extra carbs in to allow too many in - and that leads to stalling, getting frustrated, going off plan etc.
I also think you should do at least 2 weeks regular Atkins before testing anything or changing anything up - you can't be too bored in 2 weeks and there's no basic result for you to test against if you change things too early.
If you make those two weeks and are feeling good, stick to it!!! For me honestly the best way is to eat similarly and not over complicate things. I know people say Atkins is boring - but most people have a cereal or toast for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, pasta maybe for tea - they actually eat the same food all the time! I eat way more variety on Atkins and that's despite having a maximum of 19g carbs a day.
Don't get 'grass is greener' syndrome. You can do this and you deserve to do this, for you.
