Have a lovely day xxx

Change of menu - completely forgot :)eek:) about a 9am meeting so grabbed some cold sossies and had those with a coffee once my meeting was over.

Just had my soup, which was lukewarm :( even though I put boiling water in the thermos to warm it up before I put the soup in...

About to have cold C pie while I quietly scheme to see if I can smuggle a microwave into the office.

Hi susie

I do flax porridge, it makes a change and is quick if your running late!
Hot water, sweetner and a big dollop of cream, i dont bother measuring just see how it is and adjust. you could add some cinnamon or coco powder for a change or even them syrups!! wish theyd come back in stock! :)
have a good day x

Afternoon Susie, I used used to boil the kettle and pour hot water over my flax to make porridge - no need for microwave!!! xx

And Lisa - they are Hopi ear candles - not Hoki lol xx

Hey Susie soo!

All the hugs in the world - its great to see you back on track - and you'll be staying there this time, right ;)

You're absolutely right that there are a myriad reasons you, I and everyone else stress or comfort eats - but you don't ever ever -have- to. It's always a choice and you can always choose to stay on plan despite your stresses.

Ultimately choosing to stay on plan is being nicer to yourself than any 'comfort' to be had in carby foods. By staying on plan you'll get thinner, healthier and happier. Comfort eating is a way of punishing ourselves really. You don't deserve to be punished.

Now this part is just my opinion - I think 40-50g daily carbs would be fine for you for the first few stone BUT if you do decide to do that and eat things like porridge then you need to track and plan very carefully. It's all too easy once you allow any extra carbs in to allow too many in - and that leads to stalling, getting frustrated, going off plan etc.

I also think you should do at least 2 weeks regular Atkins before testing anything or changing anything up - you can't be too bored in 2 weeks and there's no basic result for you to test against if you change things too early.

If you make those two weeks and are feeling good, stick to it!!! For me honestly the best way is to eat similarly and not over complicate things. I know people say Atkins is boring - but most people have a cereal or toast for breakfast, sandwich for lunch, pasta maybe for tea - they actually eat the same food all the time! I eat way more variety on Atkins and that's despite having a maximum of 19g carbs a day.

Don't get 'grass is greener' syndrome. You can do this and you deserve to do this, for you.

Xxxxxx

Oh forgot to say I used to make flax porridge with water but changed to using unsweetened soya milk and heat in microwave, it makes it so creamy, I add a drop of low carb maple syrup to it. :)

LOL@lisa - it's all hoki to me :D By the way, your package arrived today, thanks hun xxx

ML you have been SO missed, hun! I know you like me and because of that, you want me to succeed and say the tough stuff I need to hear, so thanks :D

Wise words from all my Minis buddies, of course :) - and I will definitely try flax porridge tomorrow. Also thought I'll try scrambled eggs in the thermos mug. Speaking of which, why on earth can't you get square thermos containers? I know the roundness helps to contain the warmth etc, but I Googled until my fingers nearly fell off to try and find one - but no such luck - unless I want to order in bulk...(not).

Now, my lovelies, I need your views on another matter. I think I've come up with a brainwave re my house buying (oh no you all cry! lol). I love the area where I live, but I wish my flat was bigger, right? There's a nice stretch of Victorian flats next to me, so I thought I might write a nice handwritten card to each basement flat (there are about five of them) and in a very nice way, ask if anyone is planning to sell their flat and if so, to contact me. I don't have anything to lose, and you just never know! Would you be offended if you received something like that through your door?

Surely that's impossible to be offended by - and if anyone was planning to sell you could save them a lot of costs of putting their property on the market so it seems like a good idea to me. And on location location I know the production team send fliers out to homes fitting the needs of the buyers on the show sometimes. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Definitely not offended - we get loads of letters. Might even respond if it was handwritten! :)

Good idea but the social worker in me says just be careful what info you put in letter, don't want lots of random people having your personal details

Set yourself up a "throw away" email ie one off freebie account just for this

Good idea ladies, will do that :)

I've had my precious email addy for 14 years - so don't want anyone tampering with it.

Will report back.

Morning all

Feeling a bit rough today, upset tum and headache, so I think I might be into a bit of Atkins flu.

Luckily I can work from home today, don't fancy food, but having lots of water, and maybe some chicken stock later.

Hope you're all well.
