Morning Tamzy, so how was the weekend away ;)

I've just read through your diary I think we are quite similar I'm 21 and have 1st 7lbs give or take a lb to lose before my birthday in May! I too am on a VLCD ATM and I'm not only feeling miserable but little bit worried due to ketosis I've lost my appetite completely. I'm not a sweet lover so ATM I'm forcing the shakes down and practically gagging on them! All I'm enjoying is the 200g veggies and 100g protein I can have. I'm thinking of switching to Atkins but just want to have a snoop round the posts first. I really really really do think this is the way forward for me! I love salad and veggies and meat/chicken/fish! And any carbs I eat I get very bloated! I'm just never gonna be a carb person!

Plus I want to get back in the gym and with the VLCD I get light headed running up the stairs so I don't think I'll be able to do 2hrs in the gym let alone a sauna and steam session!!!

Just want you to give me your honest opinion if you wouldn't mind! Like I said I've did slim fast for 6 weeks and so far VLCD for 5 days and in that time I've lost 1st 2lbs. But I'm miserable! Feel like I'm missing out with my family and bf! Like we can't go out for a meal whilst I'm on VLCD he eats his dinner whilst I force down another bloody shake! Lol

Anyways I hope you had a nice time away and would be great to hear from you

hello am back!! thnks for the posts:D

i had a lovely weekend spa break in hampshire, we had so much fun and relaxation time, so nice to be pampered but unfortunately its back to work tomorrow:rolleyes:

on the diet front i did well on friday night when we got their, i had a fish and veggie dinner, i refused to have a starter or dessert as i watched my bf tucking into cheesecakes and all the other sinful things. saturday was an ok day except i drank the smallest amount of wine, had a lot of cheese :eek: but i tried my hardest, but then yesterday i started on plan and ended up totally off plan:cry:i had eggs, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes and a green salad, then after that everything went downhill, pancake and icecream with syrup, slice of cake, roast potato and more. i dont want to even check the scales untill friday:cry:
im going to look at it as a treat since me and the bf havent been spending alot of time together lately and even though he was supporting me to stick to the plan he wasnt actually helping me by eating it beside me lol, so day 1 starts again today.

Hi Ems of course i dont mind:D i no how your feeling as i just came off vlcd as i just couldnt cope with the toture of not eating and feeling left out as i couldnt socialise, the only thing i could order was a glass of water lol. but i switched to atkins 2 weeks ago and couldnt be more happier, lukily enough i stayed the same 2 weeks in a row after a vlcd which isnt bad, im loving the fact that i can eat and feel satisfied plus even have a little treat.

the good thing is you havent got a sweet tooth and you love meat and veggies so i think atkins would really suit you and atleast you can have a meal with your bf without feeling left out and i'm sure a little exercise wont hurt on atkins as you love the gym:D

youve done great so far, you will do great low carbing.

Thank you for Your reply :) I'm gonna give it a try I think I'm doing an Atkins day today and was gonna go bk to VLCD tomorrow but the thought of having a shake bleurgh makes me want to puke lol!

I'm hoping I'll be like you and STS and not gain in the first few weeks! I'm thinking if I feel like this after 5 days and I feel like I'm missing out with my bf and friends it just gonna feel worse the longer and longer!

Looks to be the Jim is the guru so going to find his diary! :) and get some tips from everyone here! Looks like eBay is gonna be getting some VLCD stuff lol!

Might have to go out later as have no eggs for the morning!! :s

I'm feeling a bit of relief after reading all about Atkins! I think it's more life friendly! Lol

goodluck hun, i think if u stay away from too much cream and peanut butter youll be fine, if i had stayed away i think i couldve had a loss lol but i'm still in the learning process. x
 
Well good thing is I don't like peanut butter :) can we have milk like a splash in egg to make scrambled eggs or is it just best to add butter!? Or can we have a splash in a cup of tea? I don't drink much tea one a day if that! Xxxx
 
Food for today. * detox week*

B - handful of roasted almonds

L - home-made veg soup


D - Tuna steak, veg soup.


S - jelly ( no cream lol)


W - 2 litres :D

Well good thing is I don't like peanut butter :) can we have milk like a splash in egg to make scrambled eggs or is it just best to add butter!? Or can we have a splash in a cup of tea? I don't drink much tea one a day if that! Xxxx

someone could probly correct me if im wrong but i think ive seen in a post somewhere on here saying that milk has quite a few carbs so people tend to use a splash of unsweetened soya milk or a Tbs of double cream in their tea instead, as for the eggs butter is perfectly ok to use.

Yer been on here through doing slim fast and VLCD and everyone here has been amazing!

I've decided I'm def starting Atkins tomo! No more stupid diets just a proper healthy one that is realistic!!

So see my diary starting very shortly!!
