I sometimes think kitty has got some Siamese in her blood as she's quite clever, her ears are pretty big n she talks away quite a lot. It's more than a meow, one of her noises sounds a bit like a ringing sound like a phone.

Awwww uze... she's so pretty! Orbit really suits her I think too... so glad to think of you with yr little mate in tow now!

Butter on paws??? Explain pls. x

Wow I never heard of that before!

I'll give it a shot but she's very fastidious so not sure she'll let me :D

Thx Linz she is a wee sweetie, doesn't eat much and she has got longer legs than the usual tabby, so defo think there is some siamese in there somewhere - and she's clever :D

Apparently she inherited the brains, her brother Sputnik is as thick as a plank :D

Have heard about the butter thing ... My mum did it with hers ;-)

I'd never heard of the butter thing, thats so clever. Glad she is happy and purring for you Susie x

Morning all

OMG I am one tired bunny. The windows are all shut while Orby gets her bearings and it was stifling last night - so she was restless, I was restless, and we didn't get to sleep until about 4am. At least there's nothing too demanding happening at work today :)

Felt terribly anxious leaving her on her own today but hopefully she will get to grips with using the litter tray - really hates it but has used it once out of desperation.

B - bacon and herb omelette, soya latte
L - chicken salad
D - something clever with mince
W - 2 litres
E - walking
A - no

Morning Susie, the kids 2 cats are sitting at the french windows looking out at their new garden, they have been out on leads though

It will take a while to adjust to each other Susie... Today's menu sounds good! Hope you don't fall asleep at your desk! :)

My boss is the one who brought her over and I think she might let me slink home early.

Thanks Jimbo a lead might be the answer - one of those retractable ones - so she can at least do her business and start exploring a bit.

What do people think? I was thinking just the other day how odd it is that people take their dogs for walks but not their cats :)

Give it a go. I got a lead when I did a move some years ago. The tortie just used it as an excuse to stay indoors and use the litter tray for months lol, but the ginger tom didn't like the lead and struggled until we let him off. He then stood for an age creating a huge puddle haha. Btw when we got a kitten some years later the tortie again started using the tray and not going out! The lead was also used for the rabbit as the garden wasn't secure. I had a 24ft kitchen and I used to bring him in and let him hop around lol.

You have to get them used to the lead when they are young Susie

Yes I think that's right Jim ... Some need to learn when they're really young... But you never know, if she has siamese in her she may be easier to train :)

Afternoon all - just quickly munching my chicken salad (with Sussex Farm blue cheese mayo mmmm), thanks for the leash info.

Am missing my little girl, can't wait to get home and see her - but got to go see another property after work, although the mortgage broker is now saying there is some doubt about getting a mortgage at all because I run my own limited company! Arggghhhhhh...he wants me to find somewhere and then apply and see how we get on. V frustrating!

Our 2 cats used to go for a walk with us and the dog, used to follow us round the estate going from garden to garden - they also had a bad habit of laying in the road when they heard one of our cars coming home - bit scary but they seemed to only do it with ours!
Can you not open the windows a little just for some air flow but not enough for Orbit to get out?
