Susie and Orbit's daily dribble

Good luck with the restart, Susie!

I shall be interested to see what you decide on. More carbs does seem like a better bet, but as ML says, you'd probably need to keep a closer eye on the cals and be very careful of trigger foods.

Hope you're having a nice, stress-free day! xxx

Afternoon all

Pouring down here, and I've been slow to move out of bed as a result - but the slow cooker is on ("chicken surprise"? lol) and it's time for a catch up here :)

The Clarke recipes are very similar to anything you'd prepare for Atkins - here's some menus -

B - scrambled eggs with Parma ham, single slice buttered toast
L - Smoked salmon and soured cream salsa
D - Beef casserole with chives (41 carbs, 24 without toast)

B - baked haddock with grilled Swiss cheese
L - Omelette with tomatoes, mushrooms and herbs
D - lamb skewers with cucumber raita (15 cabs)

B - fried bacon, mushrooms and tomato
L - tuna mayo sandwich with red pepper, 1 piece bread
D - ginger scallops with mangetout (30, without bread 13)

Examples of dinners -

- Sesame trout with garlic
- Honey glazed pork
- Chilli beef salad
- Chicken cacciatore
- Cod kebabs with baby squash
- Spicy pork with asparagus

I also like that each recipe has the UK carb count per serving.

Oooh I'm stuffed, just had roast pork belly and sauteed cabbage with melted cheese mmmmm :)

Perfect for a rainy day. Now to curl up next to Orbit (who is already zzzzing) with a book.

pouring down here too, my youngest is happy he loves the rain, i hate it tho because it curls my hair up... ugh

seems there are a lot of atkinsesque type diets evolving at the mo.

hope your having a good day today xx

Mmmm had a lovely nap, then fancied something sweet so have a bowl of orange cream in front of me (cream cheese, sweetener, orange Da Vinci and orange essence) - really yummy!

Hi, I am a having busy weekend so have not been posting, but when I saw u talking about the Clark book, I thought I have that in the attic, so went searching and found it, along with many more diet books. An interesting one I found is the curves book, I know people who swore by it in the past, when nothing else worked, I have forgotten all the details but you can either count calories or carbs and it has a section on eating lots for a few days and then cutting calories for a day or two in an effort to boost your metabolism.....I will read it over the next few days.

Forgot to say one if the things I like about Clark is his take on exercise, although it looks too simple, if it works....wow

Afternoon all

The morning has flown by, even though I haven't done very much. Wish I could go back to bed, no heating here and it's freezing.

I want some courgette soup!

But on the bright side my mortgage in principle has been approved - only a few more hoops to go....

Thanks hun - it's only in principle but a good sign.

Not a good sign is the quote that finally arrived from Dodgy Builder - he really should change his website to taking-the-p*ss.com :D

Another one is coming round on Friday...

Hi Susie, just catching up on all your news, so pleased your offer on the flat was accepted, so exciting! I'm reading Dr Biffas escape the diet trap at the moment, only £2.99 in The Works. Finding it very interesting.love the sound of the meal plans and recipes in the Clarke book.
Hope you and Orby are keeping each other warm :)

Evening Susie! I fancy some soup too!!

Just home and clean and green starts tomorrow! Can't wait as I'm feeling so stuffed - have big-belly-syndrome! Lol cxx

Morning all - and lol@Lisa, excellent picture! For those of you not on FB, it shows a cat (Siamese?) splayed back showing it's tummy, saying "Yeah I drank all your gin....what of it?!"

Well it's all madness here - open day at the music faculty, so there are parents, their nervous looking offspring and teachers galore all getting lost in Greenwich lol. I'm keeping clear....

Had been feeling really asthma-like the last few days, but feeling better today, TG. Awful night's sleep though, lots of weird dreams - and repeats of dreams I haven't had for months. Must be the job/flat scenario that my sub conscious is playing around with.

Out with friends tonight, haven't seen them for ages and really looking forward to it :D

Hi, hope you have better luck with the new builder, enjoy your evening out

Can just picture and feel all the nervous energy at the open day.

Have a great time tonight Susie and don't forget to tape the new Midsomer on tonight! :)

OMG I hope its on catch up or Youtube - got no way of recording it wahhhhhh!

We're on Grand Designs tomorrow night and I'm working then so hopefully that will be on 4OD....

Gotta love the bosses - 5.18pm - can I arrange a photographer for a VIP visit tomorrow at 10.15am?

As it turns out yes I can, but seriously, people - a little bit of planning wouldn't hurt!!!

Off shortly to make my pregnant friend watch me (and others) drink red wine :D And OMG just heard the most amazing gossip about Lover Boy - a guy who was really (REALLY) flirty with me in a previous job. Will confirm and tell all tomorrow :D

Oooh Susie how can you withhold the gossip?? That's cruel!

Hope you have a fab night and a better sleep when you eventually hit the bed ;)
